I can accept that people are new, or might not have much money to spend on MM, and if they're actually participating and sending gifts back, then great. However, it does rather annoy me when they're clearly just not trying - just offloading some of their cheap junk for a couple of rounds before disappearing. I can appreciate that new people won't know about the range of items and what might be both cheap and interesting, but in cases like these it seems they've put zero thought into it. I don't want expensive gifts, I just want to see that you care.

I think there's only a handful of people around that know how to communicate. Real life can happen, but they should send you something to let you know that they're gone for a while, just like you said. Most people probably think "oooh free stuff!" clickie. Last year I constantly got MMs that did not respond at all. I really lost all hope in MM that year and in the end I did not participate at all anymore. I decided to try again this year. All of my MMs have been responsive so far, but most of them have sent me junk or a couple of items and poof. I had one really good MM that communicated with me and we were both sending great stuff to eachother. It's MMs like that that make me want to keep on participating, in the hopes of getting another one like that.

I usually start out with some communication followed by a cheaper set. By that time I know if they're responsive at all or what type of items they're sending and based on that I decided where to go from there. That way I can protect the more expensive sets from falling into the hands of a leech.

I also love Luminaire and all the site events. Each day I think "maybe I should not participate in MM for a while", but I'm always tempted to try anyway. That makes the dissapointment so much greater when I get a bad one. I wish everyone was more in the spirit of giving...

Oh and thanks for the wonderful gift :D. holds a plant in front of her face and sneaks through your living room, putting a present under your tree so you won't notice :P

My MM today is so so lovely. They are even communicating with me :D we've found out what one another likes and they're bombing me with stuff, I can't keep up! I wish I had as many items as they appear to do so I could bomb them back xD they're the sweetest. ❤ I wish I could thank them properly.

But i joined in a lot of secret santas this year on here, so hopefully those will all turn out good and make up for the crappy MM

I have an amazing MM today!! I really don't care what she's sending - she's communicative and a lot of fun! ^_^ I just hope she understands what I'm saying, I'm not the best at the communication thing! lol

I think I've given up all hope of having a good MM... not one yet :( I might not enter anymore.

Most of my MMs have been pretty decent... until today.

But that's alright, I have an essay to work on and more gifts for other MMs.

When they're really bad I get incredibly pushy and I use my presents to make clear to them that I'm not happy at all lol.

I am beginning to suspect my MM has just been giving me their random vending junk. Oh well, at least I haven't been sending anything too expensive...Maybe tomorrow's will be more responsive?

I entered MM for this first time this season last night and they were really good! Then I went to sleep and when I woke up it had reset :( Thank you MM! I wish I had the chance to send a couple more gifts before it reset but oh well

Meh, can't say my MM's have been rather great this year. Most are unresponsive, even after I send a few gifts at the start. XP Oh well, guess I'll save the good stuff I've been clinging to stick under trees instead.

I think I broke my MM. MM, come back! I don't need any expensive stuff, you gave me more than enough already! I just want to talk!!! (weeps) We got along so well. :(

FINALLY GOT A GOOD MM AFTER 8 DAYS OF TRYING!! She was really active and just didn't throw junk at me. And she sent me a few wishlist items and I was like ???? how do you know ??? Wish she'd come back. c:

I'm running out of ideas to send my MM. :/ And I can barely keep up with them.I'm very slow lol and today is a bad day, so I apologize in advance if it takes a bit to give something.
