Wardrobe Avatar Page Rework
posted an incredibly detailed breakdown of the wardrobe avatar page with mockups and everything (seriously, go read it!). We went through every point and implemented the vast majority of their suggestions. Here's what changed:
New 3-Column Layout The avatar page now uses three columns on wide screens: your Currently Wearing list on the left, Avatar Preview + Item Preview in the middle, and the Item Browser on the right. Each column scrolls independently, so you can browse hundreds of items without losing sight of your avatar or your current outfit. On smaller screens it gracefully collapses to two columns, then stacks on mobile.
Fixed Item Preview Panel No more chasing a floating preview around with your mouse! There's now a dedicated preview panel below your avatar that shows your body wearing the hovered item. Hover over anything in your items or your Currently Wearing list and it appears in the preview instantly. If you're browsing items you don't own, the preview panel also shows a Shop Search link and a quick Wishlist button.
Filter Improvements
All Items / Catalog Browse Fixes This mode was pretty broken before — it was returning non-wearable items, sorting didn't work, and pagination was busted. All fixed now. It only shows wearable items, all sort options work correctly, and you get proper page numbers with totals. You can also preview unowned items on your avatar now since clothing URLs load properly.
Visual Polish
Drag & Drop Fix Dragging items to reorder in your Currently Wearing list now auto-scrolls when you drag near the top or bottom edges. No more struggling to move an item to the top of a long outfit.
Big thanks to for taking the time to write all of this up with mockups — this is exactly the kind of feedback that makes Subeta better. If you run into any issues with the new layout, let me know!
Amazing work Syfyri! It's very generous to spend so much time making mockups and thinking through all the design decisions to make such a comprehensive suggestion. Thanks for all this effort, both of you!
I've been here like 17 years and I had no idea we had o opt into the new Kumos wardrobe :'D
the mass page scroll has haunted me for years, this is a lot easier to engage with!
Unowned items are still showing as "Item " and a broken icon in the Currently Wearing! Also I know it's minor but I would love the ability to turn off the item border and maybe even customize the number of items in a row / adjust padding between items. Even with the smallest possible window size (before the browser converts the wardrobe into single-column), the empty space between items drives me crazy lol. Maybe possible through custom css? I'm so acclimated to how simple and compact the legacy wardrobe item display is and I love it for that. :(
It seems I'm unable to see any skins right now. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks so much for all your work! The new three-column layout is a huge improvement. To be honest, the old layout was the reason I switched back to the legacy wardrobe, but I’m trying out the new version now.
I do have one suggestion for the items page: I prefer organizing everything into custom drawers, but I’ve noticed there doesn't seem to be a filter to show only the items that aren't in a drawer yet? It would also be great if we could see which drawer an item is currently assigned to. This would help sorting the items into drawers.
One other thing I noticed (though I'm not sure if it's changeable): after moving an item into a drawer, the page refreshes and I have to reactivate the 'select' mode again. It would be much smoother if the selection stayed active.
what happened to the images in my posts here? they're showing broken images now...
Everything in Kumos defaults to the female avatar as well. Even when you have the male avatar selected.
