Blacklight Pets

It struck me now that, perhaps, I was expecting something like in Ke$ha at 2:17 minutes in the Your Love is My Drug video. Like... actual blacklight markings. Of course, that is a pop culture reference and not to everyone's taste, and by no means do I want to devalue the work that was put towards altering these pets... but there is so much more that could be done while running with the blacklight idea.

I see the news post and think, "OH MY GOSH A KEETO AUTOMATIC LOVE." Because you know what? Keetos rock my Subeta world, yes they do.

However, this is very... uncreative. Please, at least, change the poses. I agree with a lot of the people posting - it seems a little unfair, and really lazy.

But, I do love the name (Blacklight - how pretty!) and the color scheme. When the price goes down I'd like to get me one of these suckahs because Keetos just rock and I needs them all, yes I do.

Not going to lie, this makes me very conflicted subeta!! The color is awesome, and had people not thought to use this as a custom overlay I'd be all good for youuu. But the people that paid money or spent the time getting overlays for their pets that look like this should NOT be forced to buy one of these just to keep the overlay. What if they spent real money they worked hard for on artwork that is now pointless to have? I think it's a kind of low thing to do, requesting that people now pay in order to keep things they already paid for :/

And yeah, the colors are cute! But I've seen them all before already as overlays so it's not that great.

Aah, they look cool. (Come on people, it is what it is.) But maybe you guys could come out with a cheaper potion for changing a spectrum pet into one of these, to be fair to the people with black spectrum overlays and stuff.

I can understand the flaws to this, as many people have stated:

It is, really, just a re-colour.
A lot of people are now breaking the ToS who were previously abiding by the rules.
Were it not simply a re-colour of the spectrum, and there were new poses and, perhaps, different neon markings, than I can see it making more sense.

However, I do believe this looks better than the regular spectrum pets. I find the colours stand out more against a black background, so the overall scheme is more pleasant to look at.

Well, it's cool, but I don't think it's worth paying real money for. You can just a easily get an overlay like this... I think maybe different poses would have made it a lot more interesting. But, that's just me.

I love the idea of this, and I've been waiting for this for a while. However, I am disappointed that they are just spectrum pets colored black. At least add glowsticks around their necks or changes the poses, please?

So many people are going to be breaking the ToS simply because their Spectrum overlays are black. Perhaps another way around this would be to not make this a true potion, but can only be used on already Spectrum pets?

I do feel that it's pretty cheap. A big part of why I pick spectrum is because it's a one-of-a-kind color for the species. My first favorite pet here was my spectrum keeto. And work like the changing of colors on one layer takes very little time with shading and highlights and other markings still on top. The SAME markings in the same colors and the spectrum pets. I really only see this as an attempt at quick money for the site.

And no, I don't think it's the worst thing to ever happen to subeta. I've been kind of inactive here for a while, and coming back to look and finding a 3-minute recolor of a popular overlay type for spectrum pets for sale in the cash shop doesn't rub me the right way.

can't breathe Oh I soooo want!. Oh please say you will make a warador in this color. While waradors are my fave, I'm not a fan of the spectrum ones. But I think this color would work really well with them.

I just want to add that even though I don't like that overlays I'd done for others, or even ones others had done wont be able to be used anymore I do like how the pets look. I just feel my spectrums aren't as special. But I /will/ most likely be using a potion on Zacary once the paralix comes out. I do like the pets and appreciate the effort gone into them. Just sad that all the overlays like this will have to be taken down or a potion used.

But yes, I do love the pets and look forward to seeing more of them

I see why people are complaining; tons of innocent users are now unintentionally now breaking the ToS. At least change the color for the spectrum. Black/silver with perhaps a lightning effect, or something like that. Go ahead and keep the poses, but please change the color/effect so that hundreds of users aren't incriminated.

Must post again to say that I just looked at ALL the pets this is available in, and tho I am not normally a fan of the Archan, in Blacklight it is AMAZING and as soon as I can find a perfect name, I am making one!!! Gorgeous!

So many complaints! D= They're beautiful. You know, so many users get overlays that look exactly like this so obviously SOME people were waiting for a pet that looks like this. If you don't like it, don't get it. It's only about 5 bucks. You make more than that in an hour, min wage.

I don't really like this idea. I am currently drawing for a person whose pet is spectrum with black fur. She has done so much for that pet and bought that pet lots of artwork, and now she needs to pay in order to keep that pet... ):

I just wish instead of making this a different potion and selling it in the cash shop, I wish this was just combined this with the spectrum potion since it's the same artwork anyways. You know how the Espergile is able to change forms? I imagine the spectrum potion would have the 'turn this potion Blacklight' option and vice versa. But whatever, just my opinion.

Glad a lot of people are happy about this, though.

I think it's pretty cool, Subeta. It's also super awesome of you to release this during the sale in the Cash Shop. I really REALLY love the Bovyne; its color splashes remind me a lot of Lisa Frank (which of course was the best thing ever when we were young!) The art for the potion itself looks really nice too, imo.

Maybe you should make a Drama Llama pet and give a free one to everyone who freaks out when you release something that isn't EXACTLY what they wanted ...or a Montre

They do look neat, but I don't really like this idea. As some people have mentioned, Spectrum potions/pets seem kind of... devalued now. I mean, really. People bought Spectrum potions because they used to be a "one-and-only" special pose and color. This is why potions like Marsh and Field are so much cheaper... because there are tons of other color options with the exact same pose. I dunno. This just seems kind of unnecessary.

And another thing... what about the users who already had overlays that looked like this? Are they gonna be forced to either take them down or buy a potion? Because that doesn't seem right. =/

And if that is the case, should we expect more recolors in the future? Sorry Subeta, but I hope not to see that here.

Sorry, not following that question. Do I think Subeta is trying to punish you? lol. What I think is you can please some of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time. Sorry you are disappointed, I guess you will just have to come up with a better overlay to replace this one.

I don't dislike the idea, I'm just a little pissed that I can't use my overlay now. I've had that thing for god knows how long and I'm sure others have, too, but now we're pretty much being told, "Too bad; suck it up". Forgive me for being peeved.

Neat pets and I love their looks...

Though its really lame that everyone who made/paid for an overlay for their spectrum now will have to spend a good chunk of IRL money or a lot of SP to get their pet back to how they had it or get in trouble.... thats just... stupid TT.TT
