We have created a new <a href=/cashshop.php?act=trunk>Cash Shop</a> page that shows not only the current trunks that you can purchase, but you can click on them and browse the items (and hover for previews!) inside of the trunks. The Mysterious Costume Trunk will continue to work as it does now, but will not be updated with any future trunks from this point forward. All new trunks will be posted to <a href=/cashshop.php?act=trunk>this</a> page only. Update: For those of you who have been saving your Mysterious Costume Trunks for a rainy day, it can now be redeemed for 500 Cash Shop Credits. (Just use it like you normally would)

Only upset coz I know separate trunks usually have higher price than MCT, and 500 CSC probably will inflate too consider it already went up a bit last time I checked

At first I thought all the trunks had been retired.

I love the new hover idea though. I can never remember which items come in which sets. This will save me a lot of time when I want to find previews.

Honestly, the "MCT has been retired!" part didn't upset me nearly as much as the fact that I thought those trunks had been retired. :/ I'm glad they're not, though. I'm getting CSC soon. Fwaaaaa.

I don't like this at all. I hate having CSC sitting in my account since I am just like that so every now and then I would go and buy a bunch of trunks, that way I can do it when the exchange rate is good and save myself some money. And I know that my CSC will be going to the trunks in the future and not whatever comes out that I suddenly think I want and don't really.

I can't do that anymore. I can see me buying more trunks with sP instead of cash now

All I can say is WOW! Great idea, Keith!! Turned in my MCT, got my achievement and bought the Strange Skull Candle with the 500 CSC! (It's a fabulous set by the way!!) Love, Love, LOVE the way the Trunks are set up in the cash shop now... you can see AND preview all the items now!! What's not to like???? hugs Keith Thank you!!!

Got a little confused when I read that, I thought there was going to be no more trunks made for it. But now I get it. A little sad to lose the trunk, but it is pretty good to have 5550CSC sitting in my account.

The people that are complaining about the 5k wardrobe achievement, and how if someone wants a new trunk, they can just trade it in, it's in there in black and white. Although this was a change that was not needed, it doesn't seem like it harms either, i like the hover idea, and it it makes it look neater in my opinion.

Oh and if you got the trunks during the cash shop sale, then when you... or if you... turn them in for the 500 credits you'd be making out better since you got them for less than 500 to begin with.

Yes, it does change. We cannot stock CSC when there's a sale (like we could do with MCT). After the sale is over, prices return to the normal.

Seriously why is everyone bitching... it's the same damn thing, just separated! You're complaining that you can't stock up and hold out for future new trunks, well why not just stock up on CSC's instead and then buy them when they come out... There's no problem here at all. You're making a big deal over nothing.

yeah i don't like this i wish we could buy the regular MCT as well as a trunk contained inside it. i really, really hate this actually. a lot.

I don't like the idea, now we can't buy a lot of trunks when the cash shop makes a sale and stock for future trunks. We have to buy the ones available at the time and it doesn't make me happy at all.

First thought: Oh, they're retiring trunks.

Second thought: Noooo! They're removing the MCT from the CS! Now they'll be twice as expensive!

Third thought: Oh, that's a nice new update. I like the previews for items.

Keith, you can give a person a heart attack, doncha know? I thought it said all MCTs had retired and there wouldn't be anymore. I swear my jaw dropped to the floor. I hadn't gotten the ones that just came out yet. I was about to cry. xD

Now, that I've calmed down and read it, correctly, I think it's a good idea. I just hope MCTs won't go to outrageous prices because it's no longer the MCT, it's the box. It shouldn't, though if it still costs 500 CSC.

I think it's a good move.

Also the 5k clothes achievement will still be the same? I'm not sure why it should be changed. You get a MCT and you open it to get the 500 CSC. That way you get the achievement (for having a MCT) and you get enough CSC to buy a current costume trunk (or whatever you want out of the CS)

I guess there are a lot of people who still haven't read the update text.

If you have a MCT right now, you can redeem it for 500 CSC. Which is how much it costs for a trunk.

I don't understand why people are still upset, after the update. You can still get the trunks with a MCT. Just open it to get 500 csc. A MCT is now the same as a 500 credit gift gard. You can still gift your friends with a MCT; they can use it to buy a trunk or save the csc for later.

Sounds like a great move for saving the UAs a bunch of stress re: everyone who always comes being all BAWWW I CLICKED THE WRONG TRUNK. Though it'll be interesting what to do about the wardrobe achievement prize, since presumably all the trunks in the MCT will eventually retire, making it a... less desirable prize.

well I am mildly annoyed, I had several in my vault I was saving for when new ones came out since I wasnt sure when I would have extra cash...oh well dumb move on my part for 'saving for the future!'

and There used to be an "open 5 (or was it 10?) MCTs" achievement. I've just looked and there is only the "open 1 MCT" achievement displayed. Have no idea what has happened there. With the update though i doubt the 1 MCT achievement still holds?

Honestly, I don't see why anybody is particularly upset with this change. I know that once I get a MCT for the wardrobe achievement, I'll be hoarding it for the simple reason that it won't be sold any longer. For anybody saving their trunk in order to get a new costume set, they can redeem the MCT for CSC. That's actually even better than just having a MCT because then the user can get something else with the CSC. Or, if the user really wants a new trunk, they can simply use the CSC from the MCT. While I had a brief heart attack upon first reading the post, I think this is a pretty good idea, to be honest. It took me a little while to get used to it, but I really have warmed up to the idea. It seems like a win/win to me

As of this moment, 20/20 hindsight is telling me this wasn't the best move to make. I'm one of those who bought a couple MCTs to hang on for new trunks/old costumes to break apart. Now, while I'm not terribly upset, I can't see a great turnout. The 5k wardrobe tier still gives an MCT right? How many will be displeased upon reaching it and not be able to get a new trunk out of it, or if that is changed, then how many who already got that achievement will be upset that they did get the trunk and not the new replacement prize? It seems a lose-lose situation to me.
