Introducing the Friend Feed! As you browse the site, your actions will be displayed on the feed for your friends to see.

The first thing we suggest doing is heading over to the Privacy Options and choosing which options you would like your friends to see.

I don't know what to make of this feature other than I know I won't use it on daily basis, if at all.

Actually the more I think about this the more wonderful it becomes! I kept the topic making one and replies on, token shop, and creating pets/changing their colors on because I want my friends to see. You all think this might not be a social place, but in truth it's extremely social! This feature will be a lot of fun and help me connect to people I've been neglecting on my buddylist for quite a while.

Thank you for giving us this option! Some of us will really appreciate it's use. c:

For me it's more like "I don't want to spam my friends with all my pet training, adoptions, auctions, questing, trades, and profile comments." It's not that I don't want them knowing what I'm doing, I just don't want to bother them with all the trivial things or, in the case of profile comments, things that don't necessarily concern them. (I'm not complaining though... I'm happy that we have options for each so I can shut off what I don't want to flood my feed with.)

My FRIENDS know what I'm doing! The HORROR of it all! I could see how it could get annoying after a while if you have a friend who/you are someone who has a big forum thread they post in constantly, like a shop or contest of some kind.

Gonna leave all mine on to check it out for a bit before deciding anything.

How are these activities observed? Is it a profile feature? It better not come up as alerts, because that would piss me off. I'm not a fan of the idea, personally. I couldn't really give a rat's ass about what people do on here, as long as they're not hacking my account. Going to set everything as 'no,' now.

social networking is such a silly concept... go out.

Anyway. Interesting idea, there's a few I have set to yes, the rest to no, and I can't figure out how to see my friends' feeds, but if I miss something they'll tell me later.... so I really CBA worrying about this.

Well, this is neat. I guess. though else than topics I create (art shops) I don't really want people looking into my every move... and I'm not really interested in what other people do, either...

I personally love the idea!

Yes, many sites may already have implemented this feature and look how successful they are. Some people may enjoy this feature and some may not. To each their own.

A lot of you are also saying this isn't another social network... well isn't? Don't we come here to play games, meet and talk to friends? How is that not another community?

All in all, great job Subeta. Thank you!

I like it but think its to stalkery in a way. I've narrowed it down to where they can only see my status, achievements, token shop buys, trade creation, and thread topics made. Thats all I really want to see out of the others too. I doubt I go there and check up on people much but if I do I do if not then oh well P:

Lurapets? Don't make me laugh.

Firstly, this is a type of feature you wouldd see on Myspace, Facebook, and even a bit of twitter. I would never think of a petsite with this type of feature because the three above have been using it for quite a while and are very widely known.

I can see this as possibly being neat and fun, but like many others I'm unsure. I'll give some of the options a run to see how well I like it. You never know until you try it! C:

Yes. I do agree default should always be set to No on everything.

Some people don't check the news or anything before going about their usual business. Like with the Stealth feature i had to tell most of my friends that they were invisible because of the default was on yes, when they didn't want to be hidden.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Petcollector

Default should be NO. My main concern is the options being reset without us knowing it, which is exactly what happened to me. There are many reasons why we might not want our friends to see ALL our comments, and I really don't want to have to constantly check the privacy settings to see if they have been reset.

Seriously? You're already wasting your time by caring. Tons of sites us these features. There are tons of pet sites that will continue taking ideas from one another. Get with it, or get over it.

Seriously.

I was wary of this at first, but I've just realised the potential the feature has for me. I ADORE knowing about my friends pets and what they are doing with them, and I often go to my friends' profiles to see what updates they've made, and I spend ages trying to figure it out, and then I give up and ask them anyway.

Now I get to see when my friend has changed around her pets, or when another friend has changed the colour of one of her pets. This makes me vastly happy! And it's already started conversations up of 'OH YOU'VE ADOPTED A NEW PET!' which I can then glee about with people who I know care enough to actually ask! Lovelovelove this feature. And it's great that we can pick and choose what we want people to see

Nice to see some interesting features from facebook and twitter being implemented here! Thank goodness it's not a big huge thing on our homepage though, or clogging up our profiles. It's nice and organised on a separate page. So an improvement on an existing idea!

So, building on ideas ehh? You take Lurapets' "Bulletin" and "Statuses" and turn it into a completely retarded feature, that I doubt anyone will enjoy using.

You really need a life Keith. Stay away from Lurapets if you don't like what we have to offer. A little hypocritical to be stealing ideas, no?

Anyways, I'm not going to sit here and type out some rant that you'll probably never read, so all-in-all just leave us alone.

Sure it's as simple as that. Doesn't mean that the people who don't like this feature don't have the right to voice their opinions. Does it always have to be 'omg omg i luv u guys 4eva cuz u made dis new stalker thing' ??

If I like something, I will always make a point to say so. That doesn't mean I can't say when I don't like something, now does it?

It's an interesting feature, although I set nearly everything to no. I kept the Token Shop, achievement, and forum topic alerts though. :3 Those could be fun to share.

Pretty much the exact same arguments are being used here as many people posted on Facebook back when they first implemented the feed. And yet the world didn't stop turning, and FB didn't lose the millions of users that were threatening to quit. I think we'll all survive this as well.

Again, letting everyone know that it DOES NOT LEAVE AN EVENT when your friend does something.

Personally...I don't see this as letting them know a whole lot either ? I go on a few different sites where you can click who is online and actually see what they are doing at the moment. What thread they are looking at...etc.

Seeing the posts and comments like that I don't mind. Like Gunblade said, anyone can find those. I really don't see the use of some of the others.

If you don't want your friends knowing what you're doing, why are they friends...I agree with that to a certain extent but at the same time they don't need or want to know every single thing I do on my account every day. That was a valid argument for not using the Stealth option because we don't all talk to every single friend we have every single day. If people don't hide, we at least can see that they are still alive and kicking. But I doubt my friends care when my pets trained, if I won an auction, abandoned or adopted a pet and so forth. I didn't speak up when it was in Beta testing because it was quite obvious this was going to be put in place regardless of what people said. Now made doubly obvious by the very short amount of time it was even beta tested. I just don't understand why this is even necessary.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

okaay "Pet Train" - then my friends would have 3 alerts every 2 hours lol i think it would be better to be displayed on my profile, or just as a "log" for myself - in fact i would love that. but nice to see all the changes and efforts!
