And, if you feel targetted by the item, perhaps a little introspection is needed.

In the end, you're only 1/100 000 of Subeta. Make the 1/100 000 of Subeta you are using worthwhile.

Dirnt. We decided to have users block someone before warning for harassment because we felt it was the best solution to an ongoing problem, not because we wanted to be cruel. Handling harassment on a case-by-case basis wasn't working.

Now, please remain on-topic - which would be in regard to the item.

btw petsites isn't serious business, people... we are here for fun. It's entertainment. If you're manages a petsite like your life, you have a serious problem

Dirnt the only people that should feel insulted by this book are the people that cannot tactfully voice their opinion about art. Why are you getting so worked up about something that wasn't even directed at you?

Or are you one of THOSE people...?

What I hate the most is when people say "bawww, it's just criticism, get over it and get used to it". CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is always a great and useful thing. When you offer no advice on how to improve the artwork, and instead devote your comments to simply bashing it and complaining about it, that's hardly constructive. Nobody needs that. You're 100% allowed to dislike or even hate a new pet or item, but outright insulting it and/or the staff, like a git, brings everyone down, especially the artists I would bet.

"Someone got butthurt over someone saying they didn't like their art. "

hi there's a difference between 'i don't like this' and 'omg this sucks who's the dumbass who hired you you ruined my favourite pet BAWWWW SOMEONE FIRE THIS TERRIBLE ARTIST.' therefore - 'constructive criticism, learn it.'

Come on now. I think this item is very much needed. Hell, it doesn't even have to BE about the one isolated comment, but several building up as a whole. Yes, it is most likely the recent comment may be the reason the making of the item, but that doesn't mean much. Admit, that even if this was released at a different time, people would still feel the need to complain it was because of a different event.

UAs don't warn users for disagreeing with others.

And, agreeing with someone does not make you a sheep.

Honestly, the book was meant as a joke. Enough people have been able to tell that it was a joke. We often release items that relate to what has happened directory on subeta, and this book is one of them.

Okay, fine. One more. But just because I couldn't resist. To the tone of "Cruelty, verbal abuse, and such, has no place on Subeta. It's the message this item is getting across," I just had to point out the utter hypocrisy and complete invalidity of that statement on this site. In case you have forgotten, this is the ONLY popular pet site that basically said "lol, if someone is an ass to you, just block them! We won't warn people for insulting or harassing you unless they find a way around the block and keep attacking you!" Apparently, staff don't warn you, but rather make an item to insult you. It's reminiscent to the situation with cpvr, which I regret supporting at the time.

lolWOAH, how'd this turn into drama? XD;;; I kind of thought of it like "How to Clean Fanboys"... you know, just kind of poking fun at some of the things you find in fandom communities. But taking it seriously.. that's like admitting you're a gross smelly fanboy. XD; (Which is your own fault, because anyone can be a clean fanboy, and anyone can put thought into good criticism, so it shouldn't offend anyone who's willing to try.)

Has anyone bothered to talk with this poor girl, because I have and she feels very badly about making the comment. I am pretty sure she didn’t mean it literally when she said she wanted to slap the artist’s face. Can we just remember that none of us are perfect and let this thing die already?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Charmander
User Avatar

Oh, no, hun. I read it.

But who DREW it is pretty darn irrelevant. The idea still stems from the same place, especially since the person who did draw it is undoubtedly affiliated with the person(s) insulted. But good job on ignoring the rest of my post just because of that. I pretty much expected your response to be something like that.

But I'll let you alone to your worshippers not before I get smacked with a warning just for not being a sheep. :3

This item basically translates into "B'awwww! Some jackass on the internet was mean to me! So let me abuse my power as an artist on the site to create an item specifically for the purpose of publicly demeaning them!"

You can argue that the need for this item has been building up over the years, but really, we know why it was drawn and put out, and for staff to be that petty is just unacceptable in my eyes.
