My friend has been unable to get on her account for over a year, and had no luck with admins. She was fearful of creating a new account because she did not want to get frozen for having two accounts, even though she was unable to get on one. Will she now be able to make a new account, if her old one has been cleared?

I honestly wish there hadn't been an announcement for this. ...Although now that there has, I am rather dismayed. I live on the west coast. Subeta time throws me off quite a bit and I'm usually not online until 2 p.m. my time. (5 p.m. EST)

Blackmailing?

Idle users take up extra space. At least in terms of the Battle.net servers, that eats up alot of system resources that could go toward people who actually play the games.

I can not feel sorry for a person who has gone an entire year without playing the site. I mean...seriously...if it wasn't important enough to log on at least once in twelve months, then how important can it be?

Blackmailing would be if I caught you dressing your neighbor's dog in racy costumes and told you you had to pay me fifty bucks a week to keep the secret.

That's really not happening here.

Great for everyone getting the names they finally want... But I'm kindda worried about my own account. I have a tendency with ANY site to leave for months, even a year or more, at a time, but then come back later in a burst of activity. It'd be downright depressing to know that all the time, work, and real-life cash I put into my account, it was deleted just like that.

is there at least some sort of email warning sent out to the to-be-deleted? Something like "You haven't been on Subeta for a while! Your account will be deleted forever in one week! Are you really sure you don't want to come back?" Granted with email issues that's not fool-proof, but what is? At least it'd give some people a reminder. I mean... this is kindda like... blackmailing us into being active users, isn't it?

xena, i can understnad you, but what should owners do? after all i think it is written in the agb, that after a longer period of inactivity, your account will be deleted. my email account got once deleted - believe me, that was way worse, as there were pws etc sent to - but fortunately it was still available when i got my internet back.

Even though everyone else is excited about this I think its a dumb idea. I was gone for a long time on this site until just recently i dont think it was quite 12 months but I would be furious if I was one of those people to come back and find my account was gone. Mostly with my name Xena that seems to be one of the hardest names to get on any site I think on every other site i have to go with XenaIrene cause Xena is already tooken. So I feel sorry for all those who will come back only to find they've been deleted.
