And I stopped watching idol after a while because the people who seem to win, well, I don't like them much after they win. I always seem to like the people who don't win because they don't have to follow that mold that AI puts them into while under contract. The people who don't win and the idols, when they get off contract and/or get more creative freedom, are so good, but right after the winners win, they aren't within my tastes.

But man, this wig is pure awesomeness in a win bottle. XD

Well, if the members of Queen themselves are impressed with him and his range and want him, then comparisons are pretty much inevitable. Personally, I think he might just be able to do a decent job of it. And I'm WAY back rock.

Ruben won, so Clay had more creative freedom to do what he wanted. (By the way, I'd LOVE to have seen him in Spamalot recently). Clay has done Christmas albums and all sorts of things. Same for Adam; he can more do what he wants; he doesn't have to fit into the American Idol cookie cutter pop mold. Kelly used to be all popalicious too (and that godawful movie...) before she got away from the Idol influence and broke out on her own. Adam's songs were more rock than anything else... Not really sure WHAT Ring of Fire was... but I LOVED IT! (I feel I may well have been in the minority on that one, though... XD) See, we watch Idol every year, and even pay attention, and yet I had absolutely NO idea that he spelled it Kris... and I still can't name one darn song he sang! It wasn't so much that Adam was hyped more; he just sort of creates his own natural buzz. And I need this wig! We've been watching it since it first started.

True. Very true. I hope to see him improve over time.

I think that Adam was the most hyped, but Chris was towards a more "pop" direction, (like Adam= Kelly Clarkson songwriter singer style, Chris = Chris brown style different pop types) which is why I think he won. But I'm not sure what you mean about Clay having less restrictions. Explain please?

Either way, it will be interesting to see how everything develops.

He's obviously not a rock god... yet. But, given time, and the proper maturing of his voice and style, he may well be, who knows? And coming in second is the best thing that can happen to an Idol contestant, just ask Clay! No whole year (or more) of major restrictions on what and where you can and cannot perform. And, quite honestly, I can remember Adam's full name, his face, some of his outfits, and some of his songs/performances. I cannot remember the one who actually won's name (Chris.. something maybe?), clothing, face, nor any of his songs/performances. I suspect Adam will FAR outsell... what's his name in the long run. But, all that aside, I loved his hair too! Best hair since Sanjaya's ponyhawk! XD

To be honest, Adam may not quite have as strong a voice as Freddie - time will tell, but he is able to make himself sound very different in a variety of songs. Mad World does give me chills! The thing he shares with Freddie is the mmm, physicality of his performance...(during his Led Zep and Bowie act). Won't get into too much detail He will need his own songs, though.

You got to see Freddie Mercury.... three times.. 0.0 I'm jealous. Really.

Comparing them both, I don't think Adam Lambert has the right edge that was so drawing in with Freddie Mercury. I mean, his voice is pretty and all but I just seem to loose interest. Don't get me wrong, Adam is good for singing(?) stuff, but rock is not what comes to mind when I listen to him, nor does he meld well with any band as I've heard so far.

Besides that I think again, Adam's voice is pretty but there's nothing riveting (or so is my experience).

But what do I know. What I listen to isn't exactly the "shiny vocal" types.
