I must admit, I am deeply offended that you would take the word of a drunken pirate over that of a holy man. And if that weren&;t bad enough, a drunken pirate who has kidnapped guests of our party. When have we held you here against your will? What have we done to you to make you distrust us so easily?

These same pirates have terrorized us for years, and take delight in attacking our citizens. Why, even humble , a common fisherman and no threat to their ways, was blindly attacked and scarred. And great has earned his honor by defending our home from these buccaneers.

Perhaps my brother was right when he said it was wrong to invite outsiders to our celebration - In his madness, there is a perfect moment of clarity, it seems - You will never understand us.
