In the previously unnamed Omen Islands a celebration has taken place every year, one to thank the goddess of the sea for her protection over the past year, and to give her offerings to ask for prosperity and guidance in the seas for the next year. This celebration was always closed off to non-native Omen Islanders, but this year, they have opened up their home and hearts to celebrate their culture with the rest of Subeta.

Starting today, Subetans can be a part of this festival in Delphi as well as in the Omen Islands themselves, if they know the way. Celebrate the power of water by soaking your friends with water balloons and pistols, sold by a festival vendor named Noijatat. While you're visiting her, why not have her paint your face in typical Omen Islander fashion?

If you find a golden trinket or relic, it's said to bring good fortune and prosperity to give such items to the goddess of the sea. Moana has set up an area on the coast of the Omen Islands to accept such items and offer you a small reward for your generosity.

In the spirit of celebration, the Islanders would like to wish you, "Yeyei'i ao vivi natatl,, which roughly translates to "Live the life of the sea." Have fun!

You could always send the trinket/relic to a trusted friend that has completed the map to exchange it for you. I have the map completed, and would be willing to help anyone exchange it no-charge. If I don't give you the exchanged item, feel free to report me. Just trying to help out ~ <3

So in brief, since i don't have the complete map, I should just sell the trinkets? I get one, like, every 10-20 seconds O_o

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

They jacked up the price of the cheapest balloon to 1,500 sP! >.<

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Oh shut up all you whiners for not having the map completed. If you have an issue go to Keith or complete the map, if the map wasn't there as an issue, then the event would be too easy. That's the point people, it's a challenge.

And probably to make having the map WORTH IT since Riptides retired.

The same person who does the tattoos also sells the items for the water fight. So putting her on the island would mean people who didn't have the map completed could not only get the tattoos, they also couldn't participate in the fight. I think it's fair that everyone still gets the trinkets, even if they can't turn them in. Because then they can sell them to those who CAN turn the trinkets in, and then use that gold to buy the items they would have gotten from the trinkets.

I don't think needing the uncharted lands is unfair, but it is unfair that the trinket turn in is there. Put the face painting on the Uncharted Island, but if the trinkets are random events for everyone it is EXTREMELY unfair that not everyone can turn them in.

If you turn in a certain trinket/relic to Moana, will you get a specific item?

For example: if you turned in a ... Gold Meditating Bear Trinket, and got an item- If you get another Gold Meditating Bear Trinket and turn it in, will you get the same item, or another?

To take part in the water fight, first you have to purchase water fighting items from the shop: http://subeta.net/explore/facepaint.php?act=items I'd suggest getting the cheapest, as you use it up and have to get a new item each time you want to attack another player. Then go to the event forum: http://subeta.net/forums/forum/123 View any thread here. Under each user's HA will be a link that says "Soak this User!". Click on that and you will use one of your items (water balloon or water pistol). Each click WILL use up one of the balloons or pistols- they are not reusable. So you will have to keep buying more if you want to keep soaking other users.

To: Reibutts

It is when there is only a handful of games you play and you aren't on the site too often. I just checked the pieces are way out of my league.

To: LadyTerentia or anyone who knows, how do you take part in the water fight? I cannot figure that out.

But for the newer users, it's very hard to get millions in a couple of days - and certainly the map pieces will get more expensive while the event is running. So it's meaningless for them that "the map's out for so long".

Oh well... it's just one achievement I, for example, won't get. Not that I care actually. goes to buy more balloons

I think this event is partially due to many/some users not liking the Hydrus pets. It's an added incentive (in addition to the vending machine) to get the Map completed so you can get to the Island. Users have been requesting more be added to the Island, so I think this event fits the requests wonderfully! If you can't complete it in time for the event this year, there is always next year. And there ARE parts of the event you can still participate in- you can get your face painted and you can join the water fight. If you find trinkets, even though you can't turn them in, you can sell them in your user shop and use the gold you earn to buy the items people get from turning in the trinkets.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I have the same problem as you, Betelgeuze. I found one trinket, and the only thing I think I'll be able to do with them is sell them. I have no hydrus pets, and the map pieces are so expensive.

I don't think it's unfair. We've had the map out for years, and you can enjoy a fair amount of the event without it.

If you're interested in the rest, you can buy the pieces. We've also increased the frequency that they are going out .

Uh, I personally dont think its fair to make an event which can fully enjoy only users who completed the Uncharted Land Map. I never even thought of completeing it, I dont like Hydrus pets, and now I cant take the trinkets to Moana...
