<center></center> <br /> The site is back up, yay! and I have worked for the past 24 hours to make sure that the site is protected against attacks like we had last night. <br /> This is also a good chance for you to see the new, and more sophisticated backup system that we have. We've promised it before, and now we can literally rollback to 10 minutes ago (although it takes a good amount of time to rollback that much information. Literally GB worth of database information). If there is a problem at 12:17 (like last night) we can roll back to 11, or 11:10, or 11:30, or 11:40. Whenever we want. <br /> Like I said on pownce, we are looking into a way to make the database restore a faster process, but at least we had backups to restore :) <br /> On that note - yes, we had an open exploit last night. Luckily we had a backup to rollback to, and this also allowed us to patch that (and various other similar attacks) so that it doesn't happen again.<br />

Thank you for your patience, it's a huge relief knowing that you guys don't hate us when this happens. <br /> I'll be up for the next few hours just to make sure that everything is running alright and we don't have any problems. feel free to sMail me if you see anything odd :)

NOTICE: YOu may notice random s and other various weird symbols in forum posts, news comments, etc. This is just part of the new protection against this type of attack on SQL injection. We are now focusing on getting the specific areas of the site that have SQL holes in them fixed, and then we can disable this. I know, it makes things ugly :(

Thanks so much for the hard work you put in. And more than anything else, thank you for the updates and the information. The other site I USED to play just ignores this type of thing or gives out no information at all, leaving the users lost and wondering what the heck happened. I, for one, very much appreciate being in the loop.

I would like to know now are we to log in to subeta.ws or subeta.net? I belive the last post on pownce said subeta.ws? This adress changing allways makes me nerviouse. Glad you got subeta up and running again Keith and staff good job.

I hope the idiot that caused this falls down the stairs and breaks his/her neck. Disproportionate reaction? Nah. If someone'll hack someone else's property they'll do physical damage to other people too. The world's better off without any of those criminal sorts and I hope they get their karmic payback soon.

Honey - I just wish you could put a stop to ALL this nonsense. It seems losers just love to hack this site and they spend all their time figuring out how to do just that. And it is costing you users. I'm not going anywhere, but I wish you could fix this for good. It seems to happen about every 3-4 months, some crash or hack. I love Subeta and I'm sticking around, but I can't blame people who do leave. Get some rest or you won't be able to concentrate on anything!!!

Thank you Keith and everybody who worked on this. I know you guys works really hard to make things nice for us here and I really appreciate it. This is definitely the most fun pet site out on the web and I look forward to coming here every day. Most everyone is really nice. I love how people are emotionally protective of the community we have here. I love how the staff really bands together and actively takes care of us users and actually cares about us and talks to us. This is just such a great place. I do wish people would stop trying to exploit glitches in the system. It doesn't just hurt you; it hurts all of us who love coming here. Anyway, thank you, Keith. We sure do appreciate all that you do for us.
