A deadline is a DEADLINE. Whats the point of an extension? I imagine the point is, that the staff havent finished sorting it so they have had to extend it...IMO it stinks. I agree with the people that have said its unfair towards the people that have spent loads and invested a lot of time in getting the required books before the supposed "deadline"

Not that Im one of those people, but I agree with the people who made a huge effort, spending millions just to get the last few before the deadline - and now the prices are just going to go down. A deadline should be just that - a deadline. But it's good news for me, I have more time to vend/restock.

I don't mind waiting another 15 days for a reward... heck I'll most likely even find another couple books before the end of the contest. But... I find it odd how in nearly every site I'm on that has an event or contest they almost always extend the deadlines further. I realize that these events are supposed to get people fired up to participate on the sites and whatnot, but a deadline should mean just that. Aside from real issues such as site downtime or glitches... what is the point of saying that something will end on a particular day only to tell everyone that the lazy or inattentive people will get another shot? It kind of devalues the time (and prizes) of those who have been participating all along.

Just one user's humble opinion.

I guess I have never been yelled at before for stating my opinion. that IS what being able to post on these news updates is all about isn't it? I think what us "whiners" are trying to say, is perhaps if you could all think of it as spending some hard work, and time to accomplish a goal...only to have someone swoop in and say..."hey good news, we have extended the deadline so the procrastinators can get in on some of this...you don't mind right?" yea, we do mind....and i'm pretty sure those of you who don't understand why, would understand if you were in our positions. It's like doing your best job only to have your boss come and tell you that so-and-so slept in so they are going to postpone things till they can get it...imagine that happening without even so much as a "but hey, i do understand you were here on time, nice job, way to go"... ok..perhaps that's a bad analogy.... back to my point. keith asked last week for ideas on how to get the subeta economy better....THIS would be one of my suggestions....stop doing this like this. Now that everyone has extended time to get all their books...everyone will get the same prize, and what are they going to be worth? certainly not the millions we have all spent.

You guys are so freakin' selfish. It absolutely amazes me. People who needed/wanted extra time now have it? But -I- was done? Why should they get an extension?

Seriously, listen to yourselves. :/

What a bunch of whiners. It's all about 'you', 'you' were so perfect, well suck it up - there's an extension - use the time to good use and get some more books so you get an even better/higher prize. Quit complaining like spoilt brats. Buck up and Carry on - get more books - I despise whiners

It doesn't matter to me whether there's an extension or not. I'll probably forget about the book drive until the last day like I did yesterday, and then donate another 150 books at the last second again.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Why are the dates always extended? Not that I am complaining either way, but the dates are always moved around. I am glad that we could not see the results on who was in the lead and etc. But I believe that when a date is set it should be kept. And as I said it's not a complaint. I guess it would just be easier to understand better if there were reasons. Even if the staff is behind and etc, the contest could still end and we could just wait the prizes out.

People are not whining for the sake of whining, they are angry that they worked hard and bought lots of books and now the slackers who didn't bother to watch the deadline can catch up and further devalue the prizes. It sucks that now it doesn't even matter if some of us followed the rules and got things done in time. Gee, thanks.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Holy crap... I would have never thought people would complain about an EXTENSION! -.- More opportunity to buy books that we lost due to the down times. I see no disadvantage to this other than a little extra wait, which is nothing. I wouldn't spend that much sP on books anyway, that's INSANE! If that's another thing you're irritated about, you really have no one to blame but yourself. O_o

oh well... just 4 more books and I'll have 500. Though, as I stated, I hate the extension, I guess I could spend EVEN MORE at the cash shop to get good stuff to sell in order to get those last few books. grumble, grumble... I'm an idiot but it is fun being one.

Of course it will be good news for those that had other reasons to not start participating when it started. But for those of us that started the day it started and have spent countless Millions...and kept track of what we bought, then threw away lists...it is just a total lack of fairness, something that I appreciated Subeta for being, Fair. shakes head May as well just give everyone the books to catch up with everyone who started and worked diligently to get the job done by the deadline. Total crap!

Wel, for me this is good news. I'm working on month end at work right now, and pretty busy at home too, so now I can prolong the decision whether or not to donate my entire collection or just leave it at the 305 that I had duplicates of.

Is there an actual reason why is was extended? I have to say I'm not very pleased with this. I had intended to buy seven more books today just to make it to 300, and looked forwards to seeing prizes tomorrow/in the next couple days. :/

crap crap crap! I worked hard saving and buying. Now... two more weeks for everybody to catch up to me. Not fair. I want my mommy. lol... seriously, it is a bit unfair for those of us who really did take it seriously and spend untold MILLIONS on books.

-mutters- I've been buying books since the drive started, I thought it might be extended for two or three days, but two weeks?!

Ah well. I guess it'll give me time to find a few more books, I guess.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I'm really angry peeved annoyed at the etension. It really is unfair. I spent hours yesterday getting the last books. Wiping out my list I had written of ones I had and didnt have. No longer have that list. Will take me hours to figure out which ones I do and dont have especially since its just pictures of the books. Im SO ANNOYED. It really is UNFAIR and 2 whole weeks. People knew the deadline. The site hasn't been down for that long. Would have been nice to been told earlier.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Rofish
User Avatar

I have to agree with those people NOT happy about the extension. Seems a lil unfair to those that actually put some effort into the Book Drive and now to give even more time to those waited. It was very clear when the game started and was to end, and the few days the site was down, doesnt add up to 2 weeks. disappointed I am also one to not complain about things, or voice my opinion as that is what it is, MY OPINION, I usually just go with the flow, but thought I'd voice it this time.

Thanks Keith! Even though I gave in a lot of books already this extended deadline can help me reach at least 350 books...well i hope ;_;

yea, i think this decision is not fair. i can understand if the site has been down A LOT...but it's been better than it normally has been...and for those of us who didn't sit around and twiddle our thumbs...well, now this just means we get to wait for everyone else to catch up to us. I'm so glad the rules of life can't be changed so easily to accommodate those who don't meet deadlines.
