It's not copyright infringement unless Subeta called it the "Sweeney Todd Wig." But the fact that it's named differently makes all the difference.

This could be a Kitty Bartholomew Wig. Or Cruella de Vil Wig. Or maybe Rogue or Stacy London got a haircut. Hell, my dad has a white streak like that too!

You all recognize it as Sweeney Todd because it's so popular at the moment, but that doesn't mean that's the only way it can be seen.

If this were a regular item I wouldn't see it as a big deal, but you're basically generating profit because the movie is extremely popular at the moment.

If you had done this wig maybe 2 years from now when the movie wasn't so popular, yeah, but this all seems like crafty business to me. Not Rah's fault of course. She has no control over these things.

I'm just saying, it may not have been the intention, but it's generating that feel. Find popular movie > see what the fans obssess over it > earn a profit. I know subeta likes to make parodies of popular things (my little hikei) and change the names of stuff, but most of the time they changed it enough that people see it's a parody. This, on the other hand, you may as well put Sweeney Todd Wig :/

If it was something like... different colors, I could see where it would be fine.

But where it is an exact copy, that is what makes it copyright infringement.

I say take it out of the cash shop, personally, so the site doesn't get into trouble. Just make it a regular item.

It's so cool that I was just playing the movie's soundtrack, thinking how nice it'd be to do a Sweeny Todd HA only to log in and find this beauty I hope Subeta doesn't get into trouble for placing it in the Cash Shop, tho!

But since you just made the "wig", and had no intention to sell it, you dont have anything to do witht hat; its the desition keith made to put it as a cash shop item that is kinda weird thinking that he has been sued before by neopets (but that was a silly thing though) and thinking of the longcat flame (which had nothing to do with money but anyway) but as long as one dont make a profit off of it it isnt infrignment

Rah - the hairstyle/cut is part of the character and you cant sell anything that is part of a concept that belongs to the moviecompany that has the irghts of the trademark without permission... dont want to sound mean or so but most of the time these are the rules but it varies from country to country...

The fact that you admitted the style/idea was taken after Sweeney Todd and the fact that the site is profiting off of it shows that it borders on copyright infringement, no?

If you had it as a regular item, it would be fine. But this is a blatant copy. And you're profiting off of the idea of someone else.

Sketched it up as soon as I got back from the cinema xD I love Johnny Depp in a BIG way, and enjoyed the movie way more than I thought was possible. Had to make my first try at hair be momentous! -ponders on making Captain Jack Sparrow-like hair one day-

i love this wig. yes sweeney todd is awesome. got the soundtrack, the original stage cast on dvd, and the musical score that i play on my flute. now i just gotta wait for the tim burton version to come to dvd and i'll be getting that. haha got my 12 year old brother into this film too

Hmm.. I had no idea who Sweeney Todd was.. so I googled the name.. now I know why. =/ I find that a bit unsettling.. especially to see so many of the people here ooohing and ahhhing over him. Kind of sad really. It just isn't for me I guess.. I don't like what it stands for and how it influences society not to mention our children. I can't imagine letting my 14 year old watch something like that.
