It looks like it was on it's back and just suddenly came to life, you know it just springs back to life.

I think that everyone was expecting a reborn Lain to come out when the pet was released. I'm glad that it did because it is just utterly gorgeous.

Ok now that pet I simply love..
Very well drawn and the expression is like it's saying "hey you get away from me with that hose!"
I must now get a RB potion so that I am able to change one of my pets into one..
But first I must somehow get those Feb DP bear items for my bear gallery.

Actually the only bird that can fly backwards is the hummingbird, but their anatomy is much different then that of normal birds. The Lain is not based on a hummingbird anatomy wise as stated by the artists, but rather a song bird.

And regardless, a hummingbird does not fly backwards on its back, it would just plummet to the ground if it tried flying like that.

Seerow: I HAVE seen birds do that, it is probably flying down backwards, not rising from ashes.

Detailing is lovely, no doubt about that. But the pose is just off.

Why would a phoenix thats rising from the ashes be rising from its bum/look like its falling on its bum? That just doesn't seem practical in the least.

Unless the ashes were somehow glued to the ceiling and the when he was reborn gravity took over and he fell from the ceiling. That would explain the pose.

Wings are fantastic. Although the head seems to lack the same level of detail which turns me off a little bit.

I think that the detail and overall stance of the Lain is amazing. My only problem arises in the fact that even if it's rising from the ashes like I assume it's doing and someone mentioned, it just seems too square to me, and less fluid than the other elements [particularly on the right corner]. But hey, there's only so much, so it's totally fine. :3

ooh, I really like the Lain...the more I look at it (especially the reborn) the more I think about redoing one of my pet's designs...but ACH, I'm torn XP..
