How can they swap items that vended from a machine fairly often for one item that rarely if ever vends?
Doesn't sound like a fair swap to me. And this sword doesn't make the OD any more worth the tokens but its is pretty, so i may as well go spend some tokens in a vage attempt at fgetting the ungettable

Unknown Island is where the OD is - there are some Uncharted Islands off of The Darkside (Asmodeus Genetech Lab combo maybe) and off of Shadowglen Graveyard. Maybe a new spot on the map is about to happen. Just typing out loud. Oh and the sword is beautiful.

I will stick to polar ice field for now.
What about looking in the Arctic Frosts? I mean, in the weapon description, it says it was made from ice harvested from the deepest mountains there. Maybe it stocks in Icy Goods, or the Frosty Claw vending machine?
Or maybe, just maybe... it could be... obtainable from somewhere else...

Some days ago, when the weird egg was released, it was said to have been found under veta lake or something like that. But it sells on the cash shop, not on a vending machine at veta lake
