Well it did say "who or WHAT" and seeing as it did say "sP Smelter on the actual page where the answer could be found I went with sp smelter.

i've always lamented the fact that i missed the ballerina elephant doll trivia - such an adorable wearable.
would be so wonderful if this cute little prize were wearable ...
probably not, but does anyone know for sure?
(may as well quash my hope right away so i don't have to look forward to anything leading to a let down. heheh)

As I've said before, the artists can have anything in the image term, the correct answer is always whatever the thing in question is generally known as.

wow just_4_laughs, I'd never even heard of the beast being referred to as the recycle "guardian" - i got it right simply because it said who or what (i was taken between the recycle beast and sp smelter) but when debilee said there can only be one correct answer ... it had to be recycle beast since he is both a who and a what - the sp smelter can never be a "who"

meh, it made sense to me anyway.

I never got to answer the last one because there is technically two right answers Recycle Beast and Recycle Guardian and I wasn't sure which one was more acurate.

Let's just say, for example, that something (anything, really) is spelled more than one way in various places on the site. That still wouldn't negate the use of whichever spelling is actually correct as the answer.
