Okay. To be honest, I was mortified at the idea of a malticorn revamp, I really was. But this? This is really nice. I'm going to look over it more when I'm on a better connection, but I am so happy that this keeps the malticorn's essence. Artist, you are love.

Uhm... i like this revamp over all... exspecially i like the face and muzzle!
But something with the legs is not working for me... it's so... stiff with all 4 legs vertical to the ground. Either Front or Hindleggs could be a bit bend. I like how the frontleggs of the old are shoved a bit to the front.
And the belly looks not realy right for a horselike thing... also the part belly/hindlegg. "more rounded" said Saga... that could be it. ^^

But well, over all. But it would be ok overall even if this came out like it it's now. =^.^=

For anyone who is wondering, the Malticorn is meant to be a cross between a maltese puppy and a unicorn. So those of you complaining about it being too "dog-like" are actually complimenting our success in bringing out its origins. Likely, this will not be changed.

Really th only bits of unicorn in this pet should be body, minus the hind legs as well as the horn. The hind legs extend backwards like those of a dog.

I hope this helps to clear anything up.

I think the body should resemble the Reborn Malticorn more I like that color, and the Malticorn looks gorgeous there.

topizots, we considered a wider muzzle, but the most popular colors of the malticorn have this slightly slimmer snout, and so we opted to keep that. I'm sure more people will be upset to see their angelics and graveyards changed to have a short, wide snout.

As for the line weight, they are right in line (no pun intended) with our standards and do not need thickening.

The muzzle looks weird, the eyes looks weird, and the hair is very dull. I liked the brightness of the previous version. The body looks pretty good, but the head just really isn't working for me.

Now that I think of it, its the muzzle being too thin and long that bugs me. It needs to be shorter and wider.

I feel like this is a step in the right direction Maybe one more revamp after this one? Perhaps attacking its face and bowl cut hair (does anyone else get bad childhood memories from looking at it! No mummy no! Don't cut my hair with a Tupperwear Template ) ? Love the hooves, fluffy tail, fur around the hooves and neck..those are all areas well done in my book..All in all I say good job artists *high fives (just don't touch my hair *backs away slowly)

The pose just isn't working for me - something about it looks dumb. I think it's probably to do with everything PonyCrazyHorseMad pointed out about the front legs. Do like what happened with the Ontra and make a second revamp - the Malticorn needs it badly, but this just isn't the one.

I also have to add that I LOVE the new hair on this redraw. I can't wait to see the Graveyard redrawn, even though my GY Malti is one of my favorite pets. XD That being said...

I think it would look better if the belly were a little more rounded; I edited the picture a little, but it didn't come out as well as I had hoped. XD; I also made the butt a bit less rounded at the top. The rest of the anatomy I really like as it is.

I really waited for this revamp, but I voted for the old version. New has beautiful body shading, but the horn is too small and gray, and the muzzle looks too much like a dog. I understand that that isn't a unicorn and that the "face" is similar to the old one, but still I don't like it very much. (I hope this feedback is not too harsh... I reaaally want the malticorns to be revamped!)

I agree with ponyhorsecrazymad. I think this revamp is absolutley amazing, but it strikes me as really stiff. Other than that, it looks really good!

Fiiiiiiiinally. Now maybe my Lani can stop being scribble, and go back to lilac... or turn spectrum/glacier/galactic if those colors get released.

Though I do agree with PonyCrazyHorseMad, that alteration makes it a little more dynamic. Everything else is gorgeous.

Ugh, at last the day that I feared has come: A revamp that affects my pet! And badly. XP You know, new does NOT equal better. I liked the thick lines of the old one, and this one looks ridiculously... cartoony. It's as if it's saying, "Hey kids, buy my cereal!" It's completely silly and harmless. The old one looked mischievous at least.

This is going the way of Neo, which is why I left them. All their pets became cartoon parodies to cater to very young kids. XP

Finally, the species that needed it the most is getting a poll! I'm glad that the face is more defined and less smooshed in than the current version (my pet peve), but I think the horn could stand to be a bit longer on the new as well as extending the fur around the neck area to flow a bit over the shoulders to round the shape out some. Other than those few suggestions, it's nearly perfect (no piece of art is ever perfect in my eyes, not even my own). Excellent job.

I like the revamp, but I voted for the old one. Something about the stance of the new one seems awkward to me, it should be leaning back slightly on it's front legs, instead of the front legs being stiffened with the top body forward and over it. If that makes sense? xD I prefer the old snout instead of the new one, it was a little more snubby and less defined, which was something I loved about the Malticorn. I also preferred the old horn, the straightened one instead of the curved. I also think the chest should be lifted slightly.

However, I also love a lot of new things about the revamp, not all negatives! xD I love how the eyes have been done to look not so cross-eyed, and I love how the shading is /a lot/ more toned down. And the back legs are so much better than before.

Here's a (really bad ) redline to explain what I badly explained earlier about the front legs:

If you see what I mean? The front legs just need to lean back ever so slightly with more of a curve to make it less stiff.

I love the colors and the shading.. but there are some things I don't like about it, too. I loved how it was looking up before, but now it's just looking forward.. that's not as fun. ;3; It also looked slightly like it was at a stance, almost like it was about to pounce or something, but now it doesn't.. The one curling part on the fluff of the chest bothers me, I thought you added a marking on the chest at first. It almost looks like it's supposed to be a Disney cartoon, to me. The eyes are sort of too big. And it doesn't look as playful as the old one. The nose was cuter before on the old one when it looked stubbier. The hooves look sort of odd to me from the front, aswell.. It's less fluffy, and the horn looks.. odd. It should be straight like the old one.. The revamp is cute and everything.. but I'm gonna have to go for the old one. Malticorns were one of my favorites when I first joined Subeta.. I like them how they are now. ; ; This is all my opinion, anyway..

My main problem is the huge gap in the hooves. Cloven hooves just don't look like that.

Otherwise it's fine. I hated Malticorns before, I still hate them now, but the art is certainly much improved.

The first 'common-posed' Malticorn I like so far... And this is coming from someone who was terrified of common-posed Malticorns to start with. (I'm serious here, they scared me.)

The only two minor things that could use a tiny tweak, as was mentioned previously, would be the horn and the stomach area.
Make it's tummy a bit rounder-looking. Now, I get the impression that the poor thing's ribs don't end where they should, rendering it's stomach rather... stiff-looking and flat.

As for the horn, it would be a good idea to keep it unicorn-like. But not too long; the current length of the horn is fine as it is. Just... straighten it out.

That's it from me... I take it that other people might've noticed some things that I missed. Overall, I like it a lot.

well i find it a really well done revamp. im surprised at me saying that lol. it still looks like the malticorn and even the pose and face are quite similar in proportions and such. i really love how the artist kept it the old one "just" with much much better art. but i agree that the horn could be more unicornlike, and the belly could be a little bit rounder.

I don't think these lines are really too thin at all. There's heaps of pets on this site with the same lines. o.o Now, some of the Glacier pets are a different story. They're all broken-thin.

To whoever mentioned the dog-unicorn below... I always assumed it was supposed to be a sort of cross between a maltese doggie and a unicorn, yus. Hence the name..

Not entirely fond of this proposed new version. The muzzle is awfully thin compared to the old one, the ears and neck don't fluff as much... it looks like it either molted or lost weight. I also sort of liked how it used to be looking up, and now it's looking at the viewer... meh.

The new one is amazing looking.. the only thing I would change is the horn.. It needs to be straighter like in the old style one.
