✨ Melody's Cottage is open! Melody has some changes this year that we think you'll enjoy.

🎁 You will be able to choose from two previous years and receive a random item from it! 🎁 We will not have new items every day. When collecting Melody gifts, you will see at the top of the page whether there is a new item. You will always be able to choose two previous years for items, though! 🎁 You can learn more about why we changed things here.

✨ There are two achievements related to visiting Melody. For Lumineve Regular 2025, you must visit Melody 20 days in the first 25 days of December because the achievement will retire at the end of December 24. For Melody Regular 2025, you must visit Melody for a total of 25 days during Luminaire. The days do not need to be consecutive for either achievement.

Decorate your Trees! 🎄 Choose your 2025 tree and have fun decorating it. Add a little something extra by adding a background for your tree.

🎄 You can donate sP to Melody after visiting her cottage to receive an Old Box of Ornaments. Opening the box will give you a random selection of ornaments to decorate your tree with. You can mass add ornaments from your inventory to your ornament inventory here.

🎄 You can adjust your tree gift settings here to be 'everyone' 'friends only' or 'no one'. Tree's will 'open' on December 25, which is when you'll be able to access your gifts! Below is the sCode for adding your tree to your status, on the forums, and more.

Miscellaneous ❄️ Keep an eye out for the snow fairy minions, which you can give via random event. There’s an achievement, 'Fairy Catcher!', when you find one. You can release snow fairies from your inventory for the 'Free all the Fairies' achievement. There is also an achievement, 'Fairy Collector' for having one of each color snow fairy in your inventory.

❄️ Mysterious Melody is back!

❄️ The snowtapult will open once Winter starts on Subeta on December 21. More information about throwing snowballs will happen then!

❄️ You spread joy on the Luminaire Forums throughout Luminaire. The forums will be open until January 5 to finish up any last-minute business.

❄️ Luminaire ends at 11:59pm on December 31. Once we get closer to the end of the month, we'll have updates about New Years.

The only thing I want for Luminaire is the rest of the presents from the Hustler. I'm still missing and .

Will there be another way to get the presents or do we just have to deal with the Hustler?

As much as I love the old items plus BIG thanks to (The Subeta Staff) and a couple of my friends I was able to get a lot of plushies and beanbags from old Fireside events that I've never gotten before so now my collections look a lot better.

, would it be possible to use the lists from SubetaLodge to give 2005-2008 their own categories? Everything I need is pre-2009, and that's a huge pool for one selection.

*side note, SubetaLodge does have lists by year, but you can't easily see what you have wishlisted on Subeta unless you've wishlisted there, too.

I used a combination of the item directory (search: rarity 115, order ascending, spoilers on: THIS LINK HAS SPOILERS) so that I could see which items I had wishlisted, then searched the items on SubetaLodge which has notes on what year the item was released.

I'm conflicted 🤣 I'm excited to get older items, but so frustrated I missed a new item yesterday because the news said Lumi would start today.

Are Melody's tree gifts from the 25th also included in every year?

I believe, we "not happy with Kumos" people would not be so put off, if "ceterum censeo" Subeta features first were simply transferred to Kumos as they work now with small improvements added (later), not everything done in an almost unrecognizable way (though some new add ons/ideas are very nice!) on that terribly stretchy new layout! Plus actions taking way more time and clicks, when the initial idea was, to make it faster and smoother! The hardware intensiveness and slowness doesn't help in making it more enticing, either :-(

With all due respect, I know you say legacy site doesn’t work,but in my experience it still works a lot better than kumos, which often barely works even on things that should be working. Luminaire was just implemented, I get there will be bugs for the first time like this with the mysterious melody. But I often can’t even buy items from shops or do kumos quests without waiting five minutes just to buy one or two items or complete a single quest that should take a maximum of one minute, like it takes me to do a legacy site quest from Pete for example even when it’s lagging. I’m sorry but imo major site events like Luminaire should not be almost exclusively on kumos until basic site functions at least are doable.

Ahh dang, every year my tree doesn't load ;w; cleared my cache and still nothing, I'd usually just blindly decorate it but this time it's not even saving! ROOUGHH But whatever I'm not too bothered, happy Lumi everyone! Since I've missed a bunch of years it's really cool I can grab stuff from them!

I’m obviously happy Subeta is still being loved and maintained and I’m thankful for that but agree with some of the other’s sentiments in that, I wish we still got an item. Like, even if it was a random retired item or super rare. Cause I’m gonna be real you guys, even a shitty dollar store advent calendar still actually gives you an item each day.

Being the Christmas person I am and playing Subeta for about 17 years, Luminaire and the Advent calender always have been my highlight. It makes me super sad to see it change like this. The Kumos site is something I avoid for good reasons.

I like the idea of old items coming up, at least we have some nostalgia then.

I really like the shift to focusing on older items in this year's holiday events. I didn't manage to be around a lot for every holiday season in past years, so it's nice to rediscover some old treasures and it makes them all feel a bit less throwaway. Looking forward to see what I get this month!

Ahh, yeah, that's the background checking that Kumos does (which is something we can't do on legacy). There is some small content on the page its attempting to update (most likely a widget) and getting a timeout.

I just gave the kumos servers more RAM and CPU, so it should calm down a lot over the next 30 minutes or so.

I agree that's a very annoying thing to just be on the page and have the popup say that there is an error, when you haven't done anything :[

ohhhh... I'm aware of the problem and your effort. I just don't want to miss a day, because I need to go to Kumos to collect instead of doing it as part of my daylies all December, like I always have. So far all events took place on Subeta.

And as I'm writing - and reading the News (I'd just gone right to my already open Melody tab to refresh), the Kumos page changes all by itself into a gateway error - it does that a lot on every tab I have open, although it just sits there without me doing anything on it.

I'm sure you've noticed we haven't posted a new job on the illustration team in ... idk, 6-7 years? So when someone leaves, we don't have the option to backfill their position, and the team has gotten smaller and smaller over the years.
