It's time. It's finally time to visit Gunner and sign up for the Voluntary Infection Program (VIP). We look forward to seeing what names y'all come up with for the viruses this year! This user-run thread will be tracking the progression of this year's strains and will be taking suggestions for names that y'all will vote on.

Aww! Gunner shows that I've asked for any new virus (which I have) but in the forums, my avatar still shows "no biting." Not gonna get infected very fast that way. :(

At this point I’m kind of just glad that Survival is able to work at all with Subeta’s spaghetti code. :P

Wow, Amber made changing the year out to be very simple. I guess that explains all the lag. Sorry that you're having to deal with this, since you probably expected to be able to relax once it started.

I just don't like it when I see someone else with the same strain as me and they're already on the next stage while I'm not, so it's spoiled for me. That's why I want to get one of the new ones as soon as it's open and working again.

You're in the same boat as every other user, so there isn't "missing progression" here. We'll extend the holiday as needed, if needed.

This is an aging code base, built on years and years of tech debt. Changing the value of something from 2024 to 2025 is literally enough to bring down a house of cards. We're doing our best.

Any ETA on the fix? There's other things I'd like to do, but I want to be able to get one of the new strains as soon as they're available so I'm not too far behind in progression and am less likely to have the next stage spoiled for me before I reach it.
