You may have noticed that the battle coliseum is down. This is on purpose! and I have taken the coliseum down temporarily to work on a number of things like updating loot drops, an opponent reset, and more!
While there is no hard date for when it will reopen, we are aiming to be back up and running around January 29. We’ve given a long time for an estimate just in case something happens (lol), but we're aiming to have things done before that!
My worry is EXP experience points we've earned. Will those points be lost or retained?

When and where was this announced? I did see some posts on the battle forum about it having been previously mentioned, but I never saw the original post or announcement. I have been active very sporadically so I'm not surprised I missed it, just curious.
Very excited to be able to battle for loot for a few opponents over again! I always wish I had my pet more trained when there's a reset, but gosh it takes forever. :P

I suppose they'll reorganize the battle shop - exchange weapons again etc. I'm glad I got my provisory shopping in juuust yesterday (and probably left out important stuff, that'll be gone after reopening)
As for XP, I'm very sad about it, but they probably are thinking about some changes there as well - like use XP to reduce stats for restatting (esp. due to the weapon changes)
As long as Subeta is working smoothly, all good ;)
Throwback Thursdays maybe? Bring back old challengers (say a handful) each month? Just tossing an idea. :)
The reset is just for the opponents themselves! Not points to the shop.
Also in regards to the challengers - again, it's not set in stone this year. It might be seasonal, like those birds we did, or something else.
May I ask if BD points for the shop will remain or reset? I have/had a bunch of those.
Does this mean we'll have another Cash Shop Opponent Hiatus?
We might do something differently this year with challengers. Not sure right now! Because they're on a different system technically then the other bits of battle are on.
I'm excited! I don't think I've ever gone that long without doing my BQs though. My days are going to feel so incomplete lol

The healer, armory, and scrolls are open. I wonder why not the battle shop and exp pages?
I just made a huge sigh of relief! If it's onky an opponent reset, I look forward to battling again. I onky go up to 50 or 100 because I get impatient and lose interest haha
We asked way back when the reset was first announced last July and he said our earned EXP would be safe :D <3
I hope I don't lose my exp because I'm banking them. I stopped battling for awhile and I was back at it last week and this week
That's a lot of exp lost daily from BQs. Oh well.

This is the opponent reset. They have to take the BC down while editing and resetting things so we can’t battle in the meantime. They’re probably not taking anything away - other than achievement locking some of the new loot weapons - so it’s most likely that anything you could earn before will still be earnable once it reopens.

It's not clear to me from this announcement whether battling will reopen before the opponent reset or afterward. It would have been nice to get a deadline more specific than "early [this] year".
Awesome. While I am sad I can't do battle quests, I am looking forward to being able to fight all the easier opponents again lol

My BD pets are in forced vacation now, enjoy the resort at the beach, and no grumpy faces!
We're hoping it won't take the full amount of time! Better to give that space in case things don't go as fast/well as we hope. i have learned from past mistakes
It's happening! I didn't get everything done I wanted to but I got enough. Wish I had a more recent pic of my total battles before the reset. Going to focus on being excited now!

training isn't affected! You just have to go through the "train your pets" link under the 'dailies' section!
Exp is safe :) Opponent resets never affect banked Exp or battle tokens.
