Mysterious Melody Items: Update!

In the spirit of open communication, I want to let you know I was overly ambitious hoping to get the mysterious melody items out via the new way (hi ice fields) by today. I still have a few things to finish up for it, but since I'm still actively working on this I thought I'd take some user suggestions.

Right now we have one achievement regarding the Ice Fields (Polar Ice Field Navigator) and it's just for getting through to the end. I'm working on adding a few more achievements related to the fields, so comment here if you have suggestions for forum titles for prizes! They can be general ice-themed or sassy titles about surviving the snow etc.

If you have ideas for achievements, I'm open to them! They might not be doable, but I'm happy to hear. At least one new achievement will be revolving around finding items during your time in the field, like Snow Soup. These achievements will not be retroactive, unfortunately!

I would like a title to be Lord of the Ice Castle for completing all the achievements! Maybe get a special weapon or prize!

Mysterious Melody will be updated for this upcoming Luminaire, so it's not being scrapped or anything. The items are going out purely because they are messing with collections and have been not-staff-items for too long to sneakily hide them again. There's nothing to say there won't be new items for MM at Luminaire, just these set of items won't be involved. :)

we already have "USER is snowed in!" it's a reward for this achievement :D

we've got "USER is cold as ice" with this achievement B) though that means my "USER is cold" is kinda redundant lol, i should've checked before suggesting x)

Not excited about all the items going out via the ice fields. That's so random. I'd like to be able to gift folks and know I'm getting an item. If I am depending on completing the ice fields to get items, I may as well not bother.

+1 to just about all the achievement ideas, and the option to find old melody items. And I can't wait for hopefully multiple ice titles!

Somewhat related ideas:

If there isn't another plan to bring Dungarde's decorating quests back, that could also be a random unlock from the ice caves - sort of similar to how the bonus wizard quest buff works. Maybe you'd randomly unlock the Dungarde buff, then get access to his quests (with a max amount per day, maybe 5 or 10) for a short period of time?
Adding tiers to the achievement for beating the Ice King once would be great, while we're talking about ice things :)

I'm more interested in actually being able to do Mysterious Melody more so than the items. However, looks like that's not happening which is one huge disappointment.

Oh there are some beautiful ideas already in here. I never got anything out of the Fields, so I would love to see some random events rewarding a little minion or some food, or any of the events people proposed. Also throwing in old skins that might look icy as well. We could have something similar to the Frankenpie for an achievement where we could assemble pieces of random Nostalgic Toys at Vanya's! [Nostalgic Tinkerer] - Recycle a frozen toy from the past! Making those items only usable if you gift those items to other users would be very Melody-esque as well, haha. I'd even love to see some shop similar to the Crypts with Frozen Components (?) as a currency where old Melody items could be redistributed and made available for actively going through the Fields, haha. I know, quite ambitious, but maybe some of it could be copy-pasted! ^^

The Polar Ice Fields in Arctic Frost are where you get the Polar Water needed to craft a Glacier Potion. :) You can only go once every 3 hours or so and it's hard to win like the Crypts and most times it's unsuccessful but you can win random items in the process of going through them.

First off just wanted to say thank you for letting us know that it will not go out today. I was stalking lol. Also I was really upset with the news of not getting MM but the fact that we are getting new achievements makes up for it :) ❤️

OMG- I’m loving the ideas everyone’s coming up with for forum titles/ achievements! I’m especially loving the puns! 😂.

Regarding finding old Melody items, you could simplify ’s idea by having a random event pop up saying something like, “You’ve stumbled into a hidden cave and found ” for example

______ is a polar pioneer. - Multiple ice field completions? That's an ice find, ______ - Possibly for tiers of finding items in the field. ______ got lost in the frost. - Not sure if it's possible, but this could be for making it x amount of steps in but then not completing the field. (Ex: Three correct steps and then an incorrect grants the title but two correct steps and an incorrect wouldn't.)

Ice-plorer Winter soldier (unless it's copy righted!)

Achievement for finding the Bucket of Polar Water. Achievement for using the bucket of polar water to create a Glacier Potion. Achievement for feeding your pet all the frozen edible foods found from the frozen fields- Bucket of polar water, frozen cookie, preserved sardine, seriously iced tea, snow soup, tundra berries, white acorn Achievement for all the wearables being in the wardrobe- frozen petal, melting snowball, ombre ice crystel braid, snow petal, white acorn. Achievement for completing X total trips in the fields. Achievement for making it to the end of the path successfully x10. Achievement for adding the minion Warm Puff Sheep to a pet or minion zoo. -- there really should be minion achievements!!! ****

Could also add an alternative route that could lead to some snow creature to bless the user's pet into a glacier pet for free.

Could and an alternative route that could lead to a stream that could offer to completely 10/10 fill up all of your pets. Or give the user the option to pay wizard tokens to do that.

Add additional events like coming across an ice-themed minions then, the Lizard Minion Trap "activating" and trapping these minions. These minions would be exclusively found in the icy fields.

Add additional events related to the Mama bear and her cubs wondering in the icy fields. And asking if the user if they want to stay and play with the cubs, wait 10 mins then come back, or move ahead right away.

Like the monocle and minion capnip in morostide are to help your trick or treating game, make a few items like a "Mace" from Millionaire Center or some sort of item engulfed in flames like a sword that can boost someone's ability to reach it to the end of the path successfully more often.

More winter-related battle quests & achievements. The Mama bear is too damn hard. Would like lower tiered challengers.

For quests- A character could offer retired lumi gifts and free gifts in exchange for doing quests.

Thank you for the update! The communication is appreciated! I don't have any suggestions that haven't already been mentioned, but I just want to say I'm really excited about this project in general!! I do the ice fields all the time and it'll be exciting to have something new to look for!

an achievement/forum title for getting lost in the ice fields and having to make the long trudge back: "i survived the long trudge back." award it after someone makes the trudge back 10 or 20 times. :)

I would like too see a new minion like a white samojede (Polar dog), maybe as a wardrobe buddy too, while finding a lost polar expedition group of scientists in a tent, which got lost in the snowstorm.

Could there be a random event where you just happen upon like signs of kids/pets playing in the snow and you get like a random snowball or a forgotten pair of mittens? Some random winter/snow themed item.

Glad you think so! I think there could be a lot of fun tied to the ice fields! They have been a little bit empty for a while, and it makes trying for the glacier potion a little bit more fun.

Polar-Iced, as an achievement. Maybe have a couple of compasses be prizes handed out via achievements?? (idk I'm making more puns on polar stuff and that led me to magnets) More Frozen Foods, Other Than The Cookie. Make the Frozen Cookie an edible item for pets, like if you "get lost" but found the cookie, you can keep it. It doesn't count as part of the exploration to get the bucket of frozen ice water but it can become something to feed your pet?

I would love to see something blizzard related . Maybe after getting lost so many times in the ice field an achievement that give a blizzard type effect/wearable . or a forum type like Lost in blizzards or finds the blizzards. maybe have it 77 times or 1977 times something to that effect of the great blizzard?
