Yup I agree the beanbag should have went out in a different manner. A free gift would have been most idea since it was originally supposed to be a free item via Melody. Also totally unrelated but is there any word on how Keith is doing? Was just a little worried since its been over two weeks since he said he had covid.

"""technically free""" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting here considering the hundreds of millions of sP it costs to raise a battler to tier 12 and outfit them with the appropriate weapons and scrolls

i empathize with the people upset about the sloth, it's a cute beanbag and doesn't even match the aesthetic of the opponent it drops from. it should have just been a free holiday gift like it was originally supposed to be, come on lol

I also like the challenger loot being "technically free" when battlers invest so much time and money into battling. I quit battling because to was too expesnive for my taste.

Whose idea was it to place an item that was supposed to be "free" as a challenger loot? (And not just any challenger, one that not everyone can defeat 5 times)

I'm glad I didn't collect beanbags but as fond of battles, I think is unfair for the rest of users since originally was a "holiday item"

man, as a relatively newer player i feel like this beanbag release is the latest in a string of situations or decisions that have left me feeling a little wary about investing into this site like i really want to. i'm more than understanding of how much passion and hard work must go into taking care of and preserving a site like this and i have a lot of gratitude and respect for that, but it doesn't sit right to see 'people were going to be unhappy no matter what' used as reasoning for making a collection item far less accessible in a way that directly goes against what users were already told and were expecting. it is what it is at this point, but it's pretty off-putting and i just hope this is handled differently in the future.

in keeping with the actual theme of the news post, though, good luck to everyone battling! this guy will probably still be too tough for me another year from now. 😅

I'm kind of miffed the beanbag was released this way. I was the user Amber replied to when I queried the unreleased beanbag and was told it was going in a special shop. It and another unreleased beanbag were stopping me from getting the "completed beanbag" achievement and I didn't think it was fair? Oh, well, I suppose now I have a goal to work toward? Yay, goals? :'D

This is a joke right? You promise a special shop and then throw it as a BATTLE CHALLANGE ITEM? It's not even a challanger everyone could beat... wow this is actually wild. I can't belive this was solution that was thought up...like wow. How is a battle challanger even remotely close to a special shop? Pretty disappointed in this whole thing to be honest.

The reason it didn't go out via Melody was because I honestly messed up the days, there was one set of items too many (we specifically planned for 2 a night and 2 under the tree this year). There were two items left over from the previous year I used near the start that threw off the whole count, I figured out later (like ... after the holiday was over and couldn't go back to adjust a night :))

I will say it would have been kind of funny if it had been added to the Blue Building, since it's not blue. Blame it on shipping errors or something, would have also explained why it was late for Lumi. :P

Well, I think if the items in question had initially been tacked on to one of the days in December as an extra Melody's Cottage item and just have a couple of days where there were 3 items instead of 2, that would have been the ideal situation if that's what they were originally intended for (I realize mistakes happen and it could have been overlooked or something, and it's too late to go back and change it now).

I'm not going to argue the point much, but I do feel like the item is a bit out of place with this challenger though. Yes there is the winter theme, but the beanbag is specifically festive for Lumi which is already over by this point, so it's a bit of an odd fit.

Stuff to consider for the future I suppose, it is what it is now.

Yes, I did change my mind and release it a different way. People provided feedback that the items were intended to go out via melody (which is free) changing to a shop where they pay was not ideal. I get that. I tried with one item as battle loot because a. winter theme b. you aren't paying for it technically c. it was otherwise going to be thrown in the BHH where people would complain about never seeing it. There was no way this item was going to go out where everyone was happy, but I also did promise it would go out in some way instead of just sitting dead on the site.

Just in case you needed any proof. 5th win loot for a difficult challenger is not a special shop. I would have preferred it to be in BHH (mentioned in the full comment) over this.

Wait, was the beanbag meant to be included as loot? I mean, cause he's a really difficult challenger that many users don't stand a chance against and you also said it would be in a special shop like the ice skates were. I'm kind of disappointed at this, cause now I'll never be able to get it, not even from the Free Shop
