I'm a terrible human who doesn't deserve friends lol, usually coz the only time I have enough confidence to actually say anything online is when I am drunk and being an a-hole. 😭 But I LOVE this site because I do NOT have a lot of money IRL and sp is easy to make here... so when I feel the need for a cathartic impulse shopping spree? I can spend a couple mil sp instead of any real money and satisfy that need. So THANK YOU for saving me from buying real life junk I don't need, and spending money I can't afford.
Also I love making pets based on OCs and I LOOVE <3 filling up their treasures. It's helped me develop OCs, to ponder what I should put in their treasure chests. <3

This odd item exemplifies what I love about Subeta. I don't know what it is, what it means, what the joke (if any) it represents was. I don't know who created it or why, and it doesn't matter. I found people who shared their ideas about the thing, went on to discuss other things, and became friends.
With the amazing art, wonderful pets, fun games, great conversations and contests. and endless avatar creation possibilities, I keep coming back to the Edward, and wondering.
At 62 years old it's great to have found a place where I realize my sense of wonder is alive and well.

Subeta continues to be one of the few sites where I see an surprisingly nice community. Everyone gives people random, not-junk gifts. Not to mention, this site's been one of the few places I can find decent roleplay partners.

Oh, Goodness, We've been on this site for years. We had to make a new account due to some issues. We've been on this site for over 10 years. What a ride it has been, haha. We love everything about this site. Our only issue is that they gender/assign a sex to the avi bases We're all nonbinary + plural {endogenic, not did} {gender & genderlessness are also very foreign to us, we just are}. Other than that this site is amazing. May Subeta continue to thrive! Thank you for all the great memories!
Hi Subeta team! I'm a casual player and play Subeta when I'm rewinding after a loooong day of work. Playing Subeta helps me shut my mind off things and lets me do quests at my own pace and relaxes me. I love the whole vibe of the whole site, the amount of customable stuff I can play with in the wardrobe (even though I'm not able to contribute much to the site but I try!) and most importantly the events that the site puts out! Once again thanks for making the site fun and relaxing at the same time <3

I came over from neo when I was in a bad place there. And everyone was so welcoming. I made instant friends and was amazed to talk to actual staff--that was such a rarity over there by that time. And with all the friends I made, I just wanted to be here and always wanted to help the site in some way. I started as a minimod in 2011 (over 10 years ago) and became staff 5 years ago in 2016. I still love the people here, some of which I have actually met, and I can't wait to see what the future holds!

I miss the friendships I had as a child on this site. I miss the forums being really active and bustling. But I think my favourite thing that still remains is that this site has been such a... rock? to me throughout my life. I grew up alongside this website. Shit, I was under 16 when I first joined all those 16 years ago. I still have one of my original pets. It's so crazy to think that something I loved so much as a kid is still around and still a presence in my life. All of the other sites I played as a kid are now relics people dream of fondly. Subeta's still functional, still cared for, still a place I can escape and chase nostalgia.
Thanks for all of the effort in keeping it alive. I'll never forget all of the time I've spent here, all of the happenings we've had and experienced together.
I've been here for 13.5 years and my only regret is missing out on those first 3.5 years! I've joined and played many, many, MANYYY [virtual pet] games [and the like] over the last couple of decades, but Subeta is one of only 3 or 4 that I've stuck with and played consistently through the years. I love that it caters to so many personalities. I'm uncreative and antisocial but still find plenty to keep my interest here. My favorite aspects are special events and collecting minions. <3
I love the friends that I've made, and some that I've met in RL. I really LOVE the HA customization we have, the creativity that CW artists and their commissioners have, the artists that make overlays and pet pages, and the general feeling of inclusivity. Sure there are cliques here, too, but on other sites the cliques are really, really strong and you can't really enter into them easily.
Seventeen years, I can't believe it's been that long. One of my favorite things about Subeta is the staffs sense of humor. Items like these [item=Minor Curses: Unflattering Clothes] are always a joy to stumble across because of how silly and funny they are. It's easy to become so overwhelmed by all of the terrible things that happen around us that we become consumed by anger and hopelessness. Thank you for keeping Subeta so upbeat and light-hearted in a world where it can be difficult to do so in real life. <3
I've made a best friend on here and irl through this site in and made several good friends I care about as well. Met so many amazing people, and there are so many generous and sweet people on here, and you honestly feel like the site is a giant family, even with our dysfunctional moments, and our celebratory moments. I love my pets, and I've seen so many pretty and great pets as well through others. I actually also look forward to several site events and treat them like they're holidays, and I get excited for them. The free shop is amazing and fun, and I will literally camp out on the site for days and refreshing to make a grab, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, so grateful for that. I think I've been on here for about 14 of those years. No clue where time goes. I love this site for being gay-friendly, for having a relatively stable economy, having adorable pet art, having a huge variety of items, how much fun holidays are, and for being geared towards people of all ages. I generally keep to myself unless I have a specific question, but Lumi time is my favorite time of year on this site because it's the one time I go out of my way to talk to people. Just like in real life, I love shopping, so an excuse to get gifts for random strangers is a lot of fun for me.
Heck my only complaint is that I'm too dumb to understand CSS so I'll never have the awesome pet profiles of my dreams...and I think I can live with that ;)
my favorite thing about the site has always been the avatar customization and the fact that the queer community has ALWAYS been accepted (rather than pandered to once a year)--but i have to say the friends you can make, as well! i met my best friend on the forums here 11 years ago, and now we own a house together and have been living with each other for 5 years and have a whole host of cat children to take care of. happy anniversary subeta, and thanks for everything!

My favorite thing about Subeta is that it's never afraid to change. Of all the online games I've ever played, Subeta is the best at listening to its users and trying to make things better for everyone. They're not afraid to say "the way we used to do that was not the best, and we're going to try to be better" - like the antique shop exists to re-release old prizes, so not only the oldest users have a chance to get old things.
My favorite item on site is though I still wish their tails looked fluffier like they used to many many years ago! XD It's funny how your brain can latch on to things like that.
Dressing up. I've loved dressing up dolls since I was young, and sites like Subeta are essentially a virtual version. <3

Forever grateful for the impact this website made on me. I was sixteen when I joined Subeta, where I met my two very best friends- I am 32 now, and they are absolute pillars in my life, and I cannot imagine not having them in it- and I owe it all to Subeta. So a very, very happy birthday to this lovely little site!
Wow, happy birthday Subeta! A huge thank you to the staff for working so hard and keeping this site thriving! I've been a member for just under 12 years, and it sure has flown by!
I adore Subeta because there are always new items, events, pets, etc. being added. I always look most forward to Morostide (my fave!) But I'm always excited for the others. The in depth plot events are always much appreciated as well.
I've also had a deep respect for the way staff handles inconveniences during events and downtimes, such as extending event dates, handing out freebies, etc. It makes me feel valued and appreciated as a player.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge the way this site has evolved over the years. It's become such a smooth playing experience, after so many years of testing and adapting. I remember once upon a time when questing wasn't always profitable because an npc would ask for an item that wasn't in shops, or it was ridiculously priced. I greatly appreciate the ease and reliability of questing now. XD

I joined the site when I was 13 and it has largely cultivated my interests and built a solid foundation for who I am as a person. I always loved reading, but through roleplaying here I found that I also loved writing and developing characters. I gained an interest in fashion, politics, art, etc. I'm 27 now and even though I don't play as much as I used to, I always come back to the website like it's an old friend, and it truly is. Overall I think my favourite thing about the website has been how welcoming and open-minded it is and how safe it made me feel as a teenager. Even when I was alone, I never truly felt alone, because I had my Subeta friends and dozens of listening ears and shoulders to cry on, no matter what.

I love all the pets - for me they're such a great jumping off point for characters and I love how much creative freedom we have with them! I also love the items, collecting tons of tiny pretty images just makes me happy. ♥ happy birthday subeta!! and here's an item I love too:
Seventeenth?! Holy crap I always thought I had joined when the site was already at least a year old, but apparently I've been here almost for its entire lifespan. It's so hard to pick a favorite when I have so many wonderful memories of this site. My favorite NPC is definitely Elwood, even if he isn't a very prominent one. I just think he's neat. And my favorite thing about Subeta is definitely how it's not afraid to be risqué. I remember being a teen when a Subeautique line came out that had like, nipple pasties and handcuffs, or something like that, and I thought it was so cool!
Something a little more abstract that I like is how it's not afraid to stray from the virtual pet site mold that a certain other site set by implementing some great quality of life features - stuff like giving plushies a function by making them collectable, item mouseover popups (with the option to search in shops directly from there!!!), the "account search" feature, etc. I just feel like Subeta has been overall rather good at keeping the site usable as the internet evolved. I don't mean to compare, but as someone who plays The Other Site regularly and has seen how they absolutely failed to modernize the site before the death of Flash, it's always been REALLY refreshing to see Subeta keep up with the times a little more (even if Subeta 2.0 is still a work in process).
Congraulations Subeta, you're almost old enough to drink in most of the world! And congratulations staff for sticking with this site through thick and thin, I know there's been rough patches but I'm very happy to see you keep it up!

Happy Birthday! I joined a little more than 15 years ago, but took some time off because the site was almost impossible to navigate at the time. Then my niece and Aunt started on it, and they were really enjoying it, so I started to be active again. I was mostly on the site because of them. My niece no longer plays, and my Mom passed away 5 years ago this month. She loved this site. She loved dressing up her HA and working on her pet's pages (she made an album on FB of her HAs). Some days are tougher than others to be on here without her. The holidays are the hardest. I come on a lot in honor of her. I do love the art, the community, the site events...even when they don't work as planned in the beginning, and dressing up my HA is fun. I don't do as much on the site that is offered, admittedly, but I do still enjoy it.

Happy Anniversary Subeta! This is my first year here and love it that I've always been able to relax and have fun while working on my collections and achievements. I don't know many people here because I'm not that active, but I love that the community is very welcoming and generous, I feel very safe and at home!
I've read all of the comments and I was already going to mention the holidays/events/plots but many have put it into better words. My favorite part about them is how creative and interesting they are especially the holidays, I will forever love that Valentine's Day on subeta is about zombies for two big reasons. 1. Zombies have quickly become a staple to the point of being their own genre at this point and you found a clever way to do that. And 2. honestly, as an ace person all the focus on romantic love during the month of February used to make me feel like there was a plague of lovesickness anyway (which sucked because my birthday is just a few days before Valentine's Day), so the zombies make Valentine's Day better to me. But I also really, really like Masquerade, too. The fact you can't see users names unless you dance with them is a nice touch on top of a great event.
Another thing I love about events is what the community adds to them. I'm too much of a hermit and hoarder to participate but it always amazes me to see how generous and involved people are during holiday events.
It honestly makes me ashamed that for so long I'd only comeback for Melody's Cottage and miss out on so much (especially the plots, I regret missing those the most). Sticking around for the other events this year because of how awful the last 2 years were made me realize how much I was missing out on year after year.
I also really like the inclusion of the Minion Zoo. When I was first into subeta 10+ years ago I could never pick what minion to give to my pets so I decided to just collect them and put them in my old gallery. When the shops/galleries were overhauled and we needed to move everything over to new shops/galleries is when I discovered the Minion Zoo so now my gallery is books cause I like to collect books in real life too. Point is, I was collecting Minions before there was an official way to do so.
My favorite colors are Glacier because they genuinely look cool, pun honestly not intended, and Darkmatter will always have a place in my heart. Admittedly, there are a lot of pets I like that I don't have because I don't want to get overwhelmed, like Demi's and Sheeta's, and most of my current pets were adopted and I'm now attached to their species. Well, most of them, I still like zapping them on occasion just to see what they'll turn into.

My, how time flies over the past years (14 years here and still going:p)...Things and people grow and shift, mostly for the better, and it never ceases to amaze me as to the community that I had found on here that I never found on another certain website. I've never really kept going on a pet site as long as I have with this one, and that just goes to show what a good time it is for me. I love too many of the pet species to narrow a favorite down, but I have a real soft spot for the Paralix and Legeica, since they were some of my first ones. Aside from that I love all the people here and all the thought/care that goes into the NPCs and plots. All I can say is thanks for all the fun years and here's to many more! c:
