Dancing just got a lot more interesting!
While using the Mystery Dance feature, you have the chance to unlock the Dancing Steamwork Style achievement which will give you the rad Steamwork Masquerade avatar border!
While dancing with people you choose (friends, on threads, etc), you have the chance to unlock the achievement Dancing Rave Style which will give you the dazzling Rave Masquerade avatar border.
These achievements are IN ADDITION to any prizes you earn.
Is it just me or did they increase the time wait between dances? I thought it was every 10 minutes, right now for me its every 15 minutes
Took me a while but I'm so happy I got the rave one, its so pretty! Now to work on the other one!

Yep! The mystery dance (which can be done at the same time as regular dances, as they have different timers!) has a chance to give you and the person you dance with csc, among other things! - Yeah two of the prize options for random dance are 25 or 50 CSC, or you can get a bag of 100 trinkets, some sP and a quest point, a random retired item—there might be more options I’m missing XD

Nice. I did a few dance with the person above but never got any dance notices. I went to the mystery dance option and get 10-18 a day. Im glad there's a little something for those that use that option

not too pressed, it's easy to find people to dance with and i keep getting distracted so long that the 15 minute wait is still way shorter than my brain function for "oh crap, forgot to go dance" so it's all good.

- Not for me either :3 I actually turn the random dance into a social event and have been complimenting people’s avatars, I love that it gives me the chance to focus on one person’s HA cuz they’re all so unique! Also it’s interesting to see what the whole outfit looks like including the background pieces :o

For those commenting that they don't have active friends: There is always a "dance with the person above you thread". You don't need active friends, you just need to be posting and dancing there.

What to do in the forums really can be a quandary, but I do understand how the claim topics can be a strain on the servers after Keith explained it. That's why it'd be really good if everyone's dance link was automatically posted on their profile/in their status so that people wouldn't have to go looking for it.

omg is that necessary? It is obvious that there is people that like to hang out and make some personal mini events related to the current holiday, but lets be honest, they are the minority. Don't take ''no one'' that hard, it is a figure of speech.

I'm not upset with the higher waiting time, if chances are high to get the broder then it's good for me. I like the fact mystery dances have a constant waiting time and I like to wait to discover with whom I danced.
I'm not unsocial either but...
About the claim topics, I like them for they are a guaranteed quick way to enjoy the event when you don't have 10 friends to dance with/ you're not interested in C.W slotting/are not a member of any group... and also a great way to see a lot of avis.
Chit chat a about the only thing we can do on public forums, since most of the serious matters can't be discussed without somebody comes and says he feels insulted in a way or another so... I don't know ?
LOL do you call the 5 minutes addition a ''feature'' instead of nerf? Hahahahahaha, it sounds fun dude. I appreciate the two new borders, but lets be honest here, no one cares about the ''social'' thing on events, we just spam on forums because we want fancy clothes and nice items for TCs, most food eaten and most books on rankings. Social is the very, very last feature people care about holidays.

If you want people to dance with their friends from the sidebar, make it easier, please? Unless someone has a dance link as their status, how would I even do that? Is the dance link even on people's profiles? Perhaps wearing a mask should automatically add a dance link to the profile and/or the popup when you hover over a friend's name?
One of the main appeals of the mystery dance even for people who are socially inclined is that you hit the button and you dance, simple as that. There is no hunting to see if someone's dance link is in their status or on their profile somewhere or if you just have to figure out what the link would be and type that URL in.
Also, right now the only friend who is clickable on my sidebar is a friend who's posting in a claim thread.
This is why I have a private forum group that exists mainly so I can post kiss/dance/flower/tot/egg/TP links in it along with having a thread that links me to my CW shop, my "slotting"/adverts thread, the imgur where all my CW previews live and all of my contests that I'm currently in plus any Subeta RPs I'm in. I use this thread mostly so that I always have kiss/dance/flower links, otherwise I could just hide the links in my Outlook or a notepad doc on my desktop to copy/paste when needed.
I think that 5 extra minutes is fair, especially since the payout can be very high. It literally just 4 dances an hour instead of 6, in a 24 hour period the difference is less than 50 dances. I don't know how it would affect the social aspect, but it doesn't affect most user significantly either. I would appreciate a little note on the news to clarify his change.
And if it's from accepting dances, just leave your link in the comments here, or in your status, and people will probably click on it :).

Thank you for the beautiful borders! And an extra five minutes between mystery dances isn't a huge deal. You can also dance with people from the forums during that time. You don't even have to socialize, which is amazing. All you have to do is click on somebody's specific dance link, no need to even talk to them! People will always find some reason to be upset; I'm not immune to it, but this is really one situation where there is no true reason to be upset. But, every person is different. Just dance, enjoy the prizes, and if you don't get the border, it's not a huge deal. I don't have them yet either :).
A longer wait time on the mystery dance makes sense. I've made over 700 csc from it already, not to mention the tons of trinkets. It's incredibly generous.

I’ve literally made over 500 CSC from using the random dance feature so idk, a 5 minute addition to the wait time doesn’t seem like the end of the world. Its okay if I don’t get the achievements /shrugs/ I don’t think everyone playing a game has to have all the same things.
It’s such a generous feature. And they didn’t even have to implement it this year, didn’t it only start because the site was completely not functional last Masquerade?
