Server Update + Masquerade Extension

First things first: we are extending Masquerade until Wednesday. It will end Thursday morning at 12:01AM.

We know you have a lot to catch up on, item wise, so we're making it easier. We've increased the prizes for dancing, and decreased the time.

If you want to take a chance with someone new, we've added a ❓ mystery dance ✨ feature. It'll pair you up with another user who is looking for dances, you will both get great prizes.

We are going to continue working on the servers, and hope that they keep improving over the next 24 hours. You can find a more detailed changelog here, that will automatically update.

a lot has improved, but there are some parts that are almost worse than before... at least before, even if every page was timing out, clicking on a dance link rarely ever timed out. now the forum posts can enter limbo while loading, or load completely normally. dance links are constantly timing out, requiring a refresh, which might again time out the forum posts. sometimes i have to refresh 3, 4 times to get the posts to load AND the dance link to work. it's like, 1 step forward, 2 steps back. it will be an immense relief to finally be done with this.

honestly, while the extra dance prizes are appreciated, I'd much rather a visible public apology on this clusterfuck. not on the server crashes, no. on the refusal to update the userbase at large until less than three hours left in the "extended" event. subeta is better than this, but just even a glance at the comments on the previous news post (which not a single staff EVER responded to, still) shows you just how much good will this entire fuck up has cost the site in user trust.

Anyone else not seen Boudewijn even once this Masq? Every other year I'd see him maybe every 20 dances or so, but this year I've danced at least dozens of times a day since day 1 of masq and literally haven't run into him even once... Not surprising, honestly, as masq has been an overall failure this year.

tried the mystery dance. Was fun got a Gold Bag of Steamworks Trinkets, way more trinkets than I would have got got dancing regularly. Of course maybe I was lucky and will feel differently as I use it more :).

It seems like you can get random items from the Mystery Dance feature too! My dance partner and I have been given It's so much fun so far... well sure that's a cheap item in the User Shops but it's a retired/high-rarity item so I'm hopeful and excited to see what other items I'll get from this!

But I'm actually not 100% sure if the csc from mystery dancing was awarded. I am not completely sure what my total was before but I don't think it went up, and the credit doesn't show up in purchase logs like bathhouse credits do. I'm writing down my total now so I remember just in case I receive that prize again and I can see if it did go up.

Mystery dancing... I like it. I know I can do both at once, but I like having to Pace myself so I can do other things. thank you and I hope we see this feature again next masq (but won't be mad if it isn't. This was to make up for all that server woes after all)

one thing, I seem to not be able to accept my former dance invites? it keeps saying I already accepted them and implying I'm trying to cheat. This is actually really sucking because I stack 10+ from the forums before going and accepting them all at once. and now I guess they're all gone.
