This worldwide panic and buying the whole supply of TP just shows how dirty most people are. If you have a roof over your head, don't worry about lack of TP: just wash your butt after you use the toilet ;) Since you'll be staying home, it doesn't matter if you spend 5 more minutes in the bathroom ;) if you don't have a roof over your head, then the above doesn't apply to you unless you can somehow wash your bum once you're done with the toilet. - say by having a small bottle with water with you in the cubicle.
I live in Iowa where they have just closed schools for at least the next four weeks. I am a grandmother who is raising my granddaughter, We rely heavily on the free breakfast and lunch programs to make our grocery budget last all month long. Now we have to come up with an extra 40 meals over the next month because those free breakfast and lunches wont be provided for her. I am so worried about where that extra income for groceries is going to come from now. In addition to everyday stress and the stress of the pandemic. Something exciting and fun on this site would be a very very welcomed distraction. Thank you

Things are fine for me so far, but I'm still worried about not being able to leave the house, I take the outdoors for granted too much and the idea of missing out on it scares me.

Stay safe everyone! And for those in need of basics like TP/dried goods/cleaners, right now is an excellent time to get acquainted with your local Asian grocery market. In my neck of the woods it was pointed out that all the racist xenophobes won't shop there right now, so they're still fully stocked with everything from food to household cleaners and paper products. And they can really use the financial support right now due to the lack of business many are seeing.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but don't follow the tip recommending you use wipes if you can't find tp. You cannot flush those as they play total havoc on the sewer system.

well I work in an auto parts factory and as far as I know I am still scheduled for my 4 12 hour shifts this week. My workplace does not offer paid sick leave or anything like that, so I really can't afford for them to shut down right now.

I work from home anyway, but I'm in favor. Especially if it starts later in the week, when hopefully I'll have slayed the dragon I'm going to be working on this week.

I'm a healthcare worker, and I have something to add to the list of excellent advice here. Here goes:
One of the most important things that you can do right now to keep yourself, your friends, your family and your colleagues healthy is to make sure that you are getting your information about the situation from reliable sources.
Get your information from places like the CDC, the World Health Organization, Medscape/WebMD, UCSF, and the Mayo Clinic.
There are a lot of misleading articles out there on the internet, in newspapers and in magazines. A lot of them are getting shared on Facebook and other social media sites. Most of these articles are unintentionally misleading, like the article that reported that anti-inflammatory and steroidal medications have the potential to make COVID-19 infections worse.
These medications can weaken the immune system, and OTC NSAIDs probably shouldn't be your first choice to treat a respiratory infection right now. But people who have prescriptions for these medications really need to keep taking them, because keeping chronic health conditions under control is vitally important. If your doctor has prescribed these medications, the benefits to you outweigh the risks.
Other articles have been written by people who are trying to use the panic over COVID-19 to serve their own agendas. For instance, you are not more likely to get COVID-19 if you eat meat, because none of the animals that are known to carry it are normally eaten as food.
Now is not the time to eliminate an entire food group from your diet or stop taking prescription medications unless your doctor, who knows you, explicitly says that you should.
