Delays to Writing Contest, Fireside, and Black Friday Sale

With the recent site changes, we’ve pushed back the start for Fireside, Fireside Writing Contest, and Black Friday. Fireside will extend into December, don't worry. <3 Luminaire will not change. Luminaire will work like normal, starting December 1st. <3

Black Friday

You'll have from November 23rd through December 7th at 11:59pm to load up on sale goodies! We'll be bringing back lots of old items and debuting some brand new ones! The old items will be retired again after the sale.

We will not price match items purchased before the Black Friday sale. Don't mistakenly buy something before the sale expecting to be refunded the difference!

Custom Wearables will be discounted 25% off of their listed price! In most cases, the CW creator will still get the same commission they would normally get, but if an item is priced where the commission would be larger than the amount paid for the item, the CW creator will only receive the amount paid for the item instead. This is so a base 500 CSC item cannot be priced at 10k CSC, giving a commission of 9500 CSC with only 7500 CSC paid for it, for example. In that case, the CW owner would only receive the full 7500 CSC payment instead.

As we've mentioned previous years, these are no longer included in the Black Friday sale: pet slots, pet name changes, username changes, and pet overlays. As per usual, monthly collections, weapons, and CS challengers will not be discounted.

Delish Energetic, Straightforward, Gentle, Devoted, Clever, Sharp, Observe, Brave, Sincere, Loyal, Tender, Inclined, Stardust, and Nova will all be retired at the end of Black Friday.

Glass figurines, Johnny Misfit, and Ruby Lee will retire from the Cash Shop at the end of Black Friday.

The following themed sets will move to the Themed Set Vending Machine after the sale: Gyrephon and Desert Bone Garden Fairy set.

The Fairies will likely start off as random events and be given out in other ways too :) While they aren't discounted, I've been discussing with staff about potentially taking a look at prices for various features and seeing if we should lower prices in general (not just for a sale). So that might happen in the future!

Sorry but not to include the Pet Slots in the BF sale is a missed opportunity. I have CS that just sitting there for eternity because I'm just not interested in buying items, I'm buying only the monthly CS Challenger and that's it. And I'm not going to spend 2k ($20) for a pet slot, a sale would trigger me to buy a few of them.

So how's that gonna work for the floating items? Will we sometimes get fairies and sometimes get Rreign items? ...Rreign items float, right? Gawd after almost eight years here I still sometimes forget how holidays work until the actual holiday is upon me.

I am not sure if you're the person to ping for this but is there a cut off date for CWs to be in the queue by to be available for the sale? Or will the queue be managed throughout the sale? The queue has been really hit and miss on whether it's quick or slow lately and with how bad the site issues have been, I haven't been able to submit my sale items until just today and I still have a few more to submit tomorrow. I'd hate to miss out giving people discounted items since I didn't know when to have everything in by :S

Thanks for deciding to extend Fireside, I was worried you wouldn't be able to because of Luminaire. I thought maybe you could add less new items and make it easier to get them, but there would still be a limited time to get the Bonfire and Pumpkin achievements, which was what worried me the most, so it's good to be assured that it will still be long enough to work towards them enough.

@Cresenta It's not opening for Black Friday. :) If it were, we'd include it in the news post. Yeah, the idea was that since Thanksgiving/Black Friday are so late this year, we'd start the sale early (which we've been starting on Mondays the past few years week of BF) and have it go into December a bit. Want to make sure people get what they can <3

Ok I expected BF to start like...around thanksgiving. The fact that it's starting earlier and apparently wasn't intended to just made my day.

I think they're just not giving a specific start date for Fireside, but we'l probably still get about 2 weeks like we usually do. They do mention at the very top that it will extend into December so we'll have enough time (like they're not shortening the length of the holiday just because it's starting late).

We'll all be keeping toasty warm melting away the snow this Luminaire. :D I wonder if there will be any "Lumiside" items to reflect the overlap of the two holidays.

Yes! Luminaire is not going to be effected at all. It's still a month long celebration :) Fireside doesn't have a set date at the moment, so no there isn't information in the post! It'll work like it has previous years, though! :)
