CW Pawn Shop: Opening Soon!

Luminaire has come early because we’re going to be opening the CW Pawn Shop soon! Just a few reminders for when it’s open: You can buy (no selling, sorry!) as many CWs as your heart desires, but remember, there’s a 5 minute timer between purchases, so choose wisely.

The CW Pawn Shop will be open August 1 and stay open until 11:59pm on August 7.

Before anyone asks, no we won't let you know exactly when the shop will be opening on the first, you'll find out when we do a news post announcing the opening. <3

Good thing I have some of those "Free CSC" cards saved up. :D I can use 'em to get enough CSC for stuff I might want, depending on if anything on my WL is in the shop this time around. :D

honestly I’m just really happy at a chance to be able to afford cws because of the pawn shop in the first place? look I get that people don’t want to miss out on fav items or rare items, but it’s so great that we can buy pawned cws in the first place like???? even if you only get to snag one or two pretty items that haven’t been on your wl for ages, the whole discount part still seems pretty amazing to me..?

I'm only after one item really (Strands of Inevitable Demise) and it's never showed up in the pawn shop, I'm pretty sure only a couple exist. But good luck everyone else. Maybe I'll take the chance to sell some CSC and make some sP.

I deleted most of my "rare" items off my WL because it's been pretty impossible to find. I'm not here tomorrow, so I'll probably miss out on some of the shoes, makeup and hair I've been wanting for years shrug

Will there still be a lot of cute items in there hours and even days after the shop opens? Yes. For me that isn't the issue. The problem for a lot of us is that all of the ultra rare exclusive private for whatever reason items will go in the first couple of hours (maybe even less). Even if the original seller isn't online they have friends who will buy them all up for them (happened last time). If someone broke a sacred rule and pawned their private item, that is on them. Once the item hits the pawn shop it is there for anyone to buy. I know most of us have items on our WL that have been there for years! Does that seem petty to some people? Probably, but who wants to miss out on what might be their one and only chance to own an item they have been wanting for years? I have been sitting here for the past 15 minutes debating on whether or not I should actually post this. It is sad that I have to feel so paranoid about expressing an opinion, but it is what it is. Hopefully no one takes it the wrong way. ❤ I hope you all have a great day and find something special in the shop when it opens ❤

I get paid Friday so that’s enough of an excuse to preemptively get some more CSC right?! XD The ambiguous timing is exciting and I’m looking forward to doing some CW shopping! (I also agree a 1-2 hour advanced notice is not going to make a big difference anyway).

Hey if anyone is worried about missing the first few hours, I’m almost always late to these things and every year I find something to buy even days later, it’s not like it will be sold out. You will have lots to go thru, there’s so many items in there. :D

My personal theory is that not announcing when it will open, even a couple of hours beforehand, helps keep the traffic from spiking hugely all at once and breaking the site/creating lag. There's always a lot of give and take during events with staff trying to keep things running smoothly. Plus said she doesn't want to make an announcement just in case something happens and she's not able to meet that announced time.

That said, I'm sure there will be a larger than average number of users hanging around tomorrow regardless. XD
