Well, that was fast. This had been hard to watch last night, I'm very relieved the main body of the structure is left standing and at least some of the art was carried out. For a while there it looked like the entire thing may come down, which would have been a devastating loss :(

Thank you guys so much for this. I was crying last night watching the videos, as I had the chance to visit Notre Dame in 2012 with my mother and like many others have fond memories of it. Thankfully the damage can be repaired and no lives were lost, and the cathedral will rise again from its ashes.

No one died, at least as far as the news goes.

The Notre Dame cathedral just had a fire that caused parts of it to burn. People are concerned about it and hope that it can be repaired is all. It is an important historical site in France for both religious and non-religious alike.
