In fact, it sounds like users have chosen all the winning entries.... It's not a bad thing but why presenting it differently? I mean, it's okay to have people choose but if the staff was the only one to choose, it could have been different with other winning items.... And I still agree that staff should have choose items THEN show other remaining item for the users to choose from... Could have really been staff selected! =O I don't really get this idea...

CONGRATS YOU INCREDIBLY TALENTED PEEPS. Ain't nobody gunna convince me this isn't perfect for my pirate pet TCs. It's so damned pretty ! And we all know I'm a big ass sucker for sleeves. is just so, so pretty. is so well done and so unique, I love it.

I won't lie, I am sad staff didn't pull a "and a special added x items" cause I would have loved some of those gender neutral mouths.

to clear up some confusion: we didn't choose the staff picks until AFTER user voting closed, and the user votes were taken into account for the final decision. so don't worry, your votes weren't wasted!

Just that of all the brilliant items, three of them look almost exactly the same... Absolutely no dig at the art or artists, but that nothing but eyes went through where there would be two spots extra for facial features is hyper-annoying.

I really enjoyed this, it was fun seeing all the user submissions and getting to vote on my favorites! I hope we'll have more contests for user designed wearables in the future too, there are lots of talented artists here. Congrats to the winners!

When voting went up, staff hadn't made their decision, actually. They observed the fan favorites, and said the votes may sway their own choices.

did the staff vote after the user's votes were tallied? That's the only way I can see it being at all reasonable.

Also why only squinty eyes and no other facial features? :c

Really? That's a shame, some of my favorite CWs on site are the ones that look like the Blindfold. but fair enough, I suppose.

I must admit I'm biased because (and a bit sad) as literally none of the ones I voted for got into the winning lots, and all of them were eyes so there's no chance of seeing them on-site unless we get another competition like this. But that's the way the dice rolls, it seems. The items that did win are still pretty stellar, though, which is really the kicker for this. I wish all of the items that made it to the finals had been added, it was very hard to only pick 3.

You remember the discussion we had before about some people like raves and some people like waltzes? I'm sorry that you didn't like the fan favourite, but it and the telescope are the only items in the shop that provide what I want out out of Masq this year, so I think it's just that those of us who got nothing much in the shop this year were able to get this one thing.

Why were items the judges had already chosen on the list of items that we could vote for? It seems unfair.

Why not let us vote on the items that you DIDN'T choose, but were good enough to be accepted? It makes me feel that the votes I put toward those items (though I only chose one of those) were wasted, although I'm happy that the fan favourite was one that I did pick.

What would you have done if the favourite had been something you already picked--not chosen a fan favourite?

Also, please take note. The fan favourite was clearly aimed at the demographic that for some reason was completely neglected in the shop this year--the group of people who love Masquerade not because they want high-tech, cyber, emo, ravey stuff, or streamlined industrial goth stuff that's inspired by historical items with the bare minimum of embellishment, but because we love Ii]historically-inspired lavish outfits with jewels, ruffles, lace, and embellishments[/i] far more than we love body mods or neon.

To those of you who prefer the rave stuff and streamlined goth (plague doctor etc), please understand: I am absolutely not proposing that anything that was in the shop this year for you should not have been there. I just want more than one item for my demographic IN ADDITION to those items.

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but...

I really don't think the should have counted as a "facial features" item (even though, yes, it is facial features) for one simple fact: This item could likely have gotten through as a CW within the current rule set, so it kind of feels unfair that one of the other actual eyes wasn't picked alongside it. I mean, I could be wrong about this, but I feel like we've had very similar items to that one added as CWs in the past, and the whole appeal of these competitions is to give users a chance to have actual eyes/lips/noses added.

Congrats to the winners, though, I hope we get more competitions like this in the future, I feel like they don't happen enough and they always showcase some amazing talent. I hope a lot of the ones that didn't win will still appear on site as CWs because there were some killer entries into this competition.

Also... are we able to buy that sticker, or is it only award to the winners? People who are working on their collections may find it impossible to finish it.

Just, sorry but... can we talk about the participation prize a second? I mean... A sticker! A "fashion star sticker"! First of all: most of us just loose so a star.... And where is the unique reward... If we sell it, anyone could get it and... if I consider I should wear it, I still have to ask someone or pay to get it on my collection! Come on XD

I think it would have been more elegant to get a trophy on the user page like "First Masquerade Fashion Contest Participant".... !

Gonna agree about the eyes. Half of them being eye related seems a bit....much? Especially when there were so many other good ones in there. They were all great and a huge congrats to the winners, but this is why I think people were asking for the users to pick more than just one winner.

Congrats to the winners! I'm really excited to see the sleeves, telescope, and blindfold!!

I know I'm biased since I submitted a mouth so take what I say with that in mind I suppose, buuuut it would have been nice to see some more variety in face items instead of just eyes. :/ Admittedly I'm a little disappointed to see exclusively eyes instead of a range of facial features. These eyes are all great and totally congrats to the winners, but it would have been cool to see some more variety since there were some cool noses and lips as well and we've seen that variety with previous contests too, especially since we still can't submit face items. 8'))
