Fun is subjective. As long as new polls are announced, most people tend to answer them regardless if they're boring or not of interest to them. And they don't have to vote if they truly do not feel like their opinion truly matters. Don't worry, if someone doesn't vote, they have no ground to stand on to bitch about things later. Polls can always include a neutral opinion option if need be.

If anything, I think people would be less inclined to answer a poll if there's no indication of what the purpose of the poll is in the first place. And if it's less serious, well, yeah, that means it's a waste of time in my book. But that's my stance, and we don't have to agree. It's great that polls have been brought back, but going forward, I would like to see them be used a bit more properly, to answer some real questions that truly do impact the site and what we as users want. I know, we have the suggestions forum but that's primarily from users; it's nice to have staff directly ask us for our input on an idea they might have. We should be able to help them out in the process. More heads are better than only a few.

some of these are just for fun, and i think they're more than merited to make polls of whatever they want. That and, doing fun ones I think has more than enough dragged people's attention toward them where I feel like there might of been lackluster interest before to fill them out. It's getting people in comments to have fun and joke around and even suggest other ones to put up, for fun or more serious ones, and some are actually being added. (it brought people's attention to the really ancient 'how old are you' poll and it finally got a new one)

so in short, i think the polls they are doing are good and valid and more or less harmless. i enjoy the less serious tone with things like this. makes it fun.

I can't answer the Skitters/Louis poll, because my answer isn't there. I LOVE them both. Although I feel that Skitters belongs more to Halloween. But hey, it's a nice change of all the pink heart things :D

This is why I love Subeta. You guys saw the comments about us having aged since taking the poll and made a whole bunch of new polls just because. <3<3<3 (Also Oatmeal is the best NPC pet, if Oatmeal is considered one. I 100% love that goat and have given him many sad notes to eat, coming out feeling better for it, too.) (And I'm so glad that Clementine is currently winning the polls because she absolutely has the best hair...and I'd love to see more natural hair types in the CS.) (And finally...it feels nice that so many other users are in my age range. Using a site with other adults is my favorite thing.)

I love body horror and the super fungal looking ones like Ant Agony and Bubblejelly speak to my entire soul. Plants/fungi poking out through the skin is the best body horror trope and I always want more of that.

But I have to second the people wanting more skins that can be used easily. I've collected a neat dozen zombie skins over the years and Clusterflux and Blistered Hearts are the only two I've actually used for anything for that exact reason. I'm going to try to use catterkiller for some stuff come masquerade but the whole concept kind of hinges on being able to do a very specific thing with the layering

Meanwhile Jogoh and Clementine definitely have the best hair, but Gunner is the one that deserves to be memetic for having good hair. This is a very important distinction to make!

basically tl;dr: "Some may be more important than others." No. ALL polls should be important. If you recognize you have a poll question that is less important than another, then throw them away. It's most likely a bad question to ask.

Lemme break this down from a nerdy student who loves research and statistics.

I like polls, but some of these feel strange and nonsensical. What does NPC hair have to do with anything? Now a couple are decent and useful (the Skitters/Louis one could be a good way to figure out which shop of items ultimately do better and should have more focus, same with the NPC pets; I assume that one is trying to gauge interest in fleshing out NPC's pets, particularly the ones that get the least votes?).

Polls really are a valuable asset for the site, and I've honestly missed them. They're useful for pet revamps (obviously these could be retooled to include options such as, "I like the new one better but it still needs work", so that it properly reflects everyone's opinions), and could be a great way to figure out what users might want y'all to focus on (whether that's revamping a feature of the site, potential new ideas we'd like to see, features that need to be cut, etc.).

Obviously the usefulness is limited to purely numbers unless you allowed a comment box (I strongly advise against this for multiple reasons, the being how to quantify varied responses and then you have morons who think they're cute in writing useless info), but that's why discussion is at least good to have. Having good options to choose from is ultimately a good way to narrow it down to more accurate reflections of the demographic; when worded right, you won't need 10 or more options to choose from (too many choices can lead to some problems, such as people not reading through all of them and just picking the top most, which is obviously a skewing problem). In theory, discussions should roughly align with the numbers received from the polls, even if you have silent voters.

Just don't abuse polls with silly questions like the best NPC hair or throw-away answer options. If you don't take them seriously, we don't take them seriously either, and that could lead to false results, or worse, people stop caring about voting if it's all treated like a game. Polls are a tool, not a plaything.

I really wanted there to be an option for a useable, interesting end result for the strain question. So often I think a strain looks really cool but then it's so hard to use any wearables with it that it just sits unused in my skins or I have to wear it with a fun background/foreground and just let the actual ha be naked lol

I'm more sentimentally attached to Skitters, but I kinda wish his items weren't sP lol please no one beat me for that suggestion - I love the new twist of him putting his own flavor on Louis's designs, very fun

HAIR omg all the hairs!

The zombie skins I like most are the ones that actually end up resembling some sort of zombie... like Virus, Boobitis, Brainrot - These newer ones are fun for sure, but I wish they still ended on the zombie scale and not in the fantasy creature/mutant realm

Favorite land was DIFFICULT!! omg... I can narrow it down to about the top 3-5 but choosing an actual favorite is pretty impossible. I mean, I picked one, but it's really not , just tied for top 3. I love the world development so much here!! Every time an event or story comes out about a land it becomes my new favorite <3

But... I don't want to choose between Louis and Skitters. ;w; They're both great characters and I love their designs and I always buy every single item from both their stores every Survival because, one, I'm obsessive (achievmentsssss; also, I'm a massive hoarder); two, never know what item I'll end up needing for any given outfit or pet treasure; three, they each have an equal amount of items I adore and items that I'll only use in special circumstances (e.g "this character outfit needs some ragged clothes" or "I really need some lingerie items to layer with everything else for JUST the right look"). Skitters has some amazing backstory, too, which I suppose actually leaves me kinda wishing we knew more about Louis because I can't really think of any major plot points/lore involving him? (Or I didn't have much time and paid little attention to plot points/lore involving him whenever there was any.)

How dare you make me choose between Louis and Skitters and their shops. I had a hard time voting in that one because I prefer Skitters as a character but I prefer the items in Louis's shop. (The whole Undead look isn't really my aesthetic but I enjoy it for certain seasons like Survival and Morostide. The rest of the year, I'm much more likely to wear something from Louis's shop instead because that style is closer to my aesthetic. I don't really care about Louis as a character though, he hasn't had much of an impact on me or my experience here. He could disappear and I wouldn't notice. Skitters, though, is my bro, and has impacted my Subeta life greatly. I would be upset if he disappeared.)

I found the poll with the blank response pretty hilarious.

Any poll that pays less than ten thousand sP is subtracting from my sP total. I could do a restock/quest making more sP than that in one-quarter of the time without even thinking about it.

The polls that are rows of text are too close to each other for someone with hand-control problems to get the correct one. The choice a user makes may or may not be their actual one.

Is there an easier way to see every NPCs pets? ;; i know i can go to their account profiles but i don't think their actual pets pages have what they actually look like, just the colors they are roughly. (like, daemon on merana's page doesn't look like daemon as you see them in coliseum)

Whoops. On the "Favorite Land" question I ended up voting for Peka only because I momentarily forgot about Shegnui. Shenui takes the cake for sure.

For Louis vs. Skitters, what's really being asked? I could interpret it so many ways... ;--;

Do I prefer Parlour items or Zombie Den items? Do I prefer Louis' or Skitters' design? Do I prefer Louis or Skitters as a character? Do I think Louis or Skitters needs a redesign?

To answer all of my own questions tho, I prefer Skitters as a character, but I think he could use a makeover. I LOVE the Parlour items, but I also love Zombie Den items and I think I generally use the Zombie Den items more often year-round.

I didn't really like the Survival strain question, because none of them accurately described what I like. I like strains with an interesting end result. Strain progression is cool and all, but you can't do anything with it later. For example, my favorite thing about the strain that makes you into a meat baby is the pile of actual garbage with a bunch of rats on it. If I could wear progressions as skins after I complete the strain, I'd vote that way.
