I'm more slightly annoyed that I can't sell anything bc I only just learned about that feature this year and could have been rid of about 10 CWs I've had since inception.

I'm curious why the decision to only open the PS once a year? There are a MASSIVE number of items in there and it always sells a lot when it opens. Surely it wouldn't do any harm to open it halfway through the year as well as BF/Lumi?

Sigh. Last year we got a heads up on the time when it would open and I could plan on trying to be there. No idea if I missed anything I might have really wanted since it was open for hours while I slept. Grats to everyone else who was around and found big wishes though.

I'm browsing the pawn shop and getting bored already haha. That being said: don't care about the random opening. Maybe staff saw an opportunity with a dip of user logged at the time (less lag?)

But the crippling lags have been incredible these days. Wardrobe not loading, forum post not loading until you do several hard refresh, 502 ... I hope things will get better but I highly doubt it, especially with the pawn shop opening.

And yes, it was stated ever since the announcement of the BF sale, that the CW Pawn Shop would be opened this year, around the Cash Shop bonus weekend and before Lumineve... but it's impossible to get it "right" for everybody, right? '^^

Hint that it will be open during Lumi doesn't count. Still would require to be here 24/7 to catch it. Opening it like that favors those that are online at the very moment, and since items are usually in single copy, it's quite a big favor. Last year we had exact date and hour and you know what? Site didn't die. It dies now because it's been completely crappy whole month or even longer, it's not just caused by the Pawn opening. It wasn't announced and still it's barely working, so the argument that announcing would cause the lag is pretty useless.

not sure if there is the need for one. It's a news announcment.

I tend to read over comments - if there are not to many Plus living in germany so not in the fitting time zone I am sort of used to not being on when things happen.

So I (for me) do not see a reason to complain about something I can not change.

Wondering... IF there had been an official announcment... the site would probably have crashed, since all would have been stalking the shop and then there would also have been complains.

Either way, people complain. Not sure, why....

only pixels and because there are users from all over the world it can never be done "fair"

I am still happy, it is open.

I don’t understand how you getting a hint from Amber in a comments section of a news post makes it an official announcement? You can’t link to an official announcement because there wasn’t one, plain and simple.

Ah thank you. Hiding a hint in comments and assuming people will see it is kinda crappy though. I took the ‘That’ll be a Luminaire treat.’ in that news post as it would be close to Christmas so wasn’t expecting it so soon. Am still extremely pissed at the lack of official announcement.

during BF announcments Amber stated, that they would open the pawn shop in december aroudn the time of cahs shop weekend and this has been linked here. before.

All of the people comlaining - it was said that the shop would open before christmas and around CSC weekend.

I just do not get how so many peopel have missed this

Personally I think giving exact date and time is not necessary - but then that's just my personal thinking.

Honestly I don't care that you guys decided to open the pawn shop while I was sleeping (3am my time) I don't care that I don't have CSC to spend anyway.

What I DO care about is the crippling LAG. I'ts been like this for several weeks, today is even worse!!! Please, for the love of Luminaire (BAH HUMBUG) please, please do something to make the site playable again! :(

Alright now that I'm more awake, I'm gonna gripe a little bit. First off, the lack of a warning really wasn't the most frustrating part. It was the fact that the shop opened while the site can't even contain 800-1000 users online at a time. I really still cannot believe that lag is an issue on this website, especially after we just went down for maintenance and a server move. And that lasted an entire day. Are you kidding me? Get your shit together subeta. Its almost 2019 and fucking NEOPETS still loads better than this. Get. it. together.

Secondly, a lot of people are complaining about the lack of a warning. For me, this is a minor gripe. We're never really warned or told about these things, we can only expect them to happen. HOWEVER, I can only imagine that no definitive date or time was given for when the cash shop would be open strictly to avoid having an overload of users online, which would then make even buying or loading the pawn shop even more frustrating and inconvenient. Which brings me back to point one. Fix the fucking lag! If you just fixed this simple issue, telling users when the pawn shop would open probably would have been on the agenda. I understand that because of the lag, corners have to be cut. But again, this should have been taken care of and handled better. I worked a 12 hour shift today. I am NOT happy. And I am even more upset that I couldn't even get a heads up on the availability.

A really minor gripe. Having to wait five minutes. If I wanted to do this between every item I purchased, I would have actually gone Christmas shopping between stores. But the reason this gripe is minor is because it is necessary. This was clearly done as a way to make it fair for everyone to get a chance to buy something they wanted. As bad as it sounds, there are greedy people and resellers galore on this website. Which is why I wasn't too frustrated with the five minutes. This gets a pass.

Ok now lets talk about the good stuff. Not being able to sell anything during the sale. NICE. This was the best thing that could ever be done! The last time the pawn shop was open, people were buying all the cheap items and then reselling them to the shop to get more CSC, which inflated everything in the damn shop back to a normal set price. You know how annoying that was? Very. I'm so glad this was changed. Good job!

Lastly, the inclusion of a wishlist search. Oh my god thank you. Thank you so much for this feature. I was able to get some items out of the shop that I didn't even think would be in there, let alone would I have the heart to sift through 1000+ items even with the layer sorting feature. Another good addition. And... thats all I have to say honestly. I'm happy with what I snagged from the shop. I wish I could have been on earlier to get what I could have missed or really been after, but I can't complain. Who knows when the shop will ever open again after so many complaints from users last time about how it was run. But this year was pretty good.

no problem! Considering how the site was preforming 30 min in (I couldn't load a single page for 4 minutes) I would unerstand fear of people refreshing and camping for hours to the extend where opening the shop wouldn't be problem-free even before it actually opens. We need to let people do their mistakes, it's the only path to learn. We can voice our frustration and have ideas for next time, an open discussion, but respectfully.

I'm not amused other as I missed my biggest want haha. It's only pixels though.

While reading through the black friday posts people seemed pleased with pawn shop being moved to december in connection to bonus weekend. That's the feedback subeta received.

It's hard to find a golden solution :(

AH thank you so much, that helps a lot; i was flustered that i must've missed it somewhere obvious but now i'm honestly less annoyed at myself FIOEHWG for not having seen it but i agree like...i'm a salty about it but i'll live, and hopefully in future this sort of thing gives staff a better idea with what works out best for the site load and for the CSC sales, too (since that's important for the site even if it's not for our wallets GUIWEHG)
