I am frustrate when I cannot actually use items that are really really pretty. The Dusk Mahar Cloak, I desperately want that to be wearable, and all of those little leashes and things would be so cute with animals that your avatar could walk around with.

Yeah IDK there is a bit of a disconnect between the pets that we own as users vs the rest of the site lore. Obviously people are free to come up with their own stories for their pets, I was just pointing out that as far as the site lore goes with what's in the Subetapedia and other stuff, that's how it works.
Subeta has evolved a bit beyond just a pet site, it's a whole created world with different cultures and other stuff. There's a difference between what we as users playing the site do and what's considered "official" whatever, and these items fit in with the latter. So in that context it makes sense. Nobody has to feed them to their pets anyway, so if it's something that bothers you in particular then just don't use the items.
Some of us like to use the "non-usuable" items for pet TCs 😄
If only I were talented enough to make CWs... that "You haven't washed the dishes yet" idea screams to be a wearable background. That being said, it's great to see more items just for our pets. I am totally going to create/adopt someone to just be an utterly pampered housepet, and fill their TC with all of these! PS. I'm joining the Clementine fan club... She's gorgeous!

I adore that 's suggestions were used but like... these comments... why do we need logic applied to everything?? There are so many other things in the Subeta universe/website that defy or challenge the logic that we know in the real world to begin with. Who cares if pets are sapient, not sapient, won't eat meat containing other species, will eat that meat anyways, refuses all meat, etc? Considering a vast majority of users (as far as I know) don't even follow canon lore whatsoever, it's a moot point.
Please don't let this become Vegans vs Non-Vegans 2.0, for the sake of everyone's sanity. 8|
I love everything about this! A little disappointed there was no charlie laser pointer or cat teaser or something, but that's my only complaint.
I adore Clementine.
I do wish the non-food items were all wearable. I've never been clear on the purpose of items that I can't wear, put in collections or feed to the pets, like why would I spend SP on that except for a quest? And some of them are super pretty and deserve to be usable as clothing items, companions or backgrounds.
- I've always been disturbed by some of the items on this site but it's unfortunately nothing new. "Feli Spaghetti" with Feli tails? But hey, there's also all the poopy "food" items and the cannibal food. It probably says something less than stellar about me that I can't decide whether the "Feli Spaghetti" or the "Leakage Un-dae" is more upsetting. They are gross and disgusting in different ways. I eat meat and I keep carnivorous animals and I'm absolutely not regretful/ashamed about any of that BUT, but but but, I wouldn't eat a being who could work as a government operative or design clothes, regardless of whether that being was human or another type of animal.
- if Subeta pets are just normal animals, how do they understand/read books and do jobs like being Directors of SAI, fashion designers, and newspaper editors. I don't battle. My pets have jobs. I have two SAI operatives, two fashion designers, two newspaper editors, two cooks, a green energy lobbyist and a nightmare serpenth who's still finding himself. Those are not jobs that a normal animal could perform. We are feeding sapient beings to sapient beings. On the other hand, there are plenty of things we are sold to feed our pets that are made from human beings, so I guess it's equal opportunity, but still kinda disturbing.
I just think that those can be TC fillers for memorial pets and such.
I mean, pets, mainly here on subeta, are very very customisable and I don't see that many people basing their own Ruffies or Felis down exactly what's written on the Subetapedia. Meanwhile we can choose whether our pixel pets eats other pets or not, I think it's just fine. I wouldn't think so if we didn't have any choice, but we aren't even obligated to feed em.

But like, Subeta canon now is basically that the "pets" are just regular animals that exist in the Subeta world and some of them have been domesticated and are kept as household pets, while others are wild or are bred for agricultural purposes. Similar to real life, just with different species than the real world cow, dog, horse, etc.
