No, I get that. But watching someone intentionally buy all available copies and then price gouge the market is really disappointing. Sometimes the prices don't settle, also (much as we'd expect them to do so). But mostly it's just watching someone do that with crystal shop/trivia prizes. At least with stuff from the mil center/antique shop/high rarity restocks, there's that chance that you can snatch one up reasonably at some point. This wasn't a dig at you guys, just a general annoyance that occurs every single time (and for stuff that is hard to get, continues to be an issue even when y'all rerelease it eventually). Not really sure there's anything you guys can do though.
Oh I had the items/food to get 3 of these right away, had to buy 2 butter items and wait for my pet to get out of the lodge to eat them. Need to buy a couple of the books. But will never get the instrument achievement with 36 since I don't have any at all. Cool to have new achievements. :)

yeah shop search was completely empty for a hot second and i knew some shenanigans were going to occur. i mean, it's A Thing You Can Do but i'm never that impressed when it happens lmao
The thing is though is you don't need to buy all the items right this second. The prices usually settle after we add achievements once the rush is over. You can restock a lot of these items or grab them from places like the Antique Shop. There are a few that will take longer, the crystal shop trivia prizes and the Fireside holiday items. I specifically used harder items this time around because not everything should be super easy/quick to get. Users have also been asking for some "harder" collect achievements.
No need to get them right away! Make them a goal for the future (like buy one or two of the books a month). ONE DAY YOU TOO WILL BE CAP AMERICA
Oh don't worry, the person who snatched up all of the available ones has managed to stuff them into their shop at an extreme markup (I grabbed one at 1m from them before I realized what they'd done, and then they switched the price to 5m each).
Honestly - this rewards hoarders and refreshers so much.
I'm grateful for the fun new titles - but some of those hard to get items...it would be nice if there was some safeguard against one person intentionally price gouging everyone else.
Man I want the Captain America title, but those are all old RD/atique shop books that I will never ever be able to afford :(
