Merana Returns With Hydrus Quests!

Hello, I’m Titania McGee with Channel 5 News, your best source for up-to-date information.

Merana has been located off the southern coast of Veta. Currently it’s not thought that she’s an immediate threat, but she’s being monitored while authorities look further into the situation and decide upon what action to take.

Right now, it appears that she’s being spotted on somewhat random days from the coastlines of the Subetan lands. She’s appearing for 12 hours at a time, always appearing and disappearing on the hour. It’s believed that her current appearance will only last until midnight ST tonight, however.

Users are able to complete Merana’s hydrus pet quests in the time she’s visible, but once she leaves the map the quest is automatically quit. It is believed that her power is currently limited, and she must retreat back to the ocean to recharge, but we have not had a confirmation of this from Merana herself.

Thanks for bringing Merana back relatively speedily. I really like that some pet colors have a special element to them, that Hydrus also has now by being controlled by Merana's somewhat random appearances (if I'm interpreting this correctly?). Like others I also hope this will spark the revamp of many Hydrus pets. A LOT of them have very outdated art by now.

I have to say, it was a waste to complete the map and never use it to get a hydrus pet back in the day....Guess I'll go buy a Neela and do the quest. Can't think of a name, though...

I really like this recolor and the lobster-y aspects to it. I'm not usually a fan of hydrus, but this is really nicely done. V curious as to if this will go on with anything, since Tits is covering it, so close to her other usual news broadcasts around this year...hm XD
