Snowman Building Contest

HELLO AGAIN, everyone! We’re back in the snolympics! We can never resist a good snow-themed competition, but this year we decided to put our competitive natures aside and make OTHER people battle for the win! Nothing like a little team spirit, am I right?

Oh Tobi, you’re such a goof. Gosh it’s freezing. Was it this freezing last year? Anyway, we’ve called together some of our fellow shopkeepers and mischief makers to take part in this little competition. Obviously we’d love for EVERYONE IN THE WORLD to build snowmen, but there’s just not enough room for you all in Peka Park!

So instead, you can pick a team to support! Pick a team and help them build the biggest and best snowman. There are five teams in all, and you can donate snow as well as food, drink and warm clothes to help them and keep up their morale once the competition starts! You’ll get a participation prize for your team, a pet slot, and for taking part at all you’ll get a special ice skin, courtesy of Aspen! If you can’t decide which participation prize you want, don’t worry - Saggitarius has kindly offered to stock them in his Millionaire Centre after the competition.

The winning team’s supporters will get a forum title and a special prize, as well as a cool new trophy for their profiles.

Unlike last year's snowball fight, there won't be any individual prizes after the fact; this competition is a team affair!

Team signups start now and will close on Monday at 12 noon. You can still participate from the sidelines after that and receive Aspen’s ice skin, but you will no longer be eligible for winning or the team participation prize.

How is the scoring going to be done? Is it just what ever team has the most items donated? Is there going to be like progress bars or anything so we know where all the teams stand?

As long as it’s an item that comes from one of those shops, you’ll be fine. :) (Like if you get “Bubbly Strawberry Pie” from a quest, you’ll still be able to donate it because it is a Bake Stop item!)

As long as you participate and help your team out, you'll get the prizes for participation. There's no "do x amount to get y prize"! :) THIS IS JUST A NICE FRIENDLY TEAM BUILDING EVENT (i say as i prepare to take down all against me and my team)

Like the news post says, the sign-up closes at noon Monday. After that, people can participate overall (without joining a team), but lose out on the team-specific prizes. This way, people aren't joining last minute on the team doing super well ;)

Is this gonna be dependent on the team size? ie is it the average or the total, 'cause if it's the total, then wouldn't teams with more people have the advantage?

My guess is the prices of snowballs were increased to prevent the mass-buying that happened last year. I mean people will still buy a lot, but maybe not quite as much.
