How would you like a new pet slot to extend your pet family without spending CSC? Well, here is your chance!

Starting tonight, Friday the 17th, at 12:00am until Thursday the 23rd at 11:59pm we will be having a site wide Quest-A-Thon! What does this entail exactly?

You will be working with your fellow users to get 500,000 quests completed during the week. You will need to complete quests from the following quest givers to have them count: Carl, Cinthia, Mori and Nori, Alexander, Maleria, Pete, Quentin, Saggitarius, Allard and of course me. Remember that regular users can complete 10 quests per quest giver while Gold Account users can complete 15 quests.

Everyone will be able to see how many quests have been completed by checking out the news where we will have a progress bar. If the goal gets completed, everyone that has participated will receive 1 new pet slot and the forum title of is forever on a quest for more pets. So make sure to get your friends online and cheer them on to complete their quests every day so everyone can get a slot! You might spot an NPC or two posting around the forums encouraging you to complete quests, too.

Remember that the goal is 500,000 completed quests. We won't be rewarding you with another pet slot if you manage a million quests, though we'll be incredibly impressed!

HELL YES, I AM SO IN, LET'S DO THIS THING!! Also, I second a few of the suggestions here, for example Sarah's Quests, can we please be able to do them even if we have too much sP to normally do them? And the inflation problem; I agree with increasing or removing the vending limit for this week to help us cope. This will be hella fun either way. xD

Someone did the math and it was somewhere between 710 and 560 people needing to do all possible quests they can for a week to reach the goal. Round about there. Also Keith said they already track amount of quests done and that 500k isn't that much more than is already done in a week.

So it all shouldn't be so bad. I think they set a very realistic goal for us. I think they just want to give us all a free pet slot. ;)

Sadly can't edit news comments, it sucks.

Well all of the users are spread out throughout the day. So it's hard to say how many users on average get on a day because as far as I know, the user doesn't have access to that information, just how many are on at one time. I don't actually think reaching the goal will be tough. They probably picked a number that we already reach on a regular basis, or one that could easily be achieved with a bit of extra effort. They didn't just randomly pick a number (I hope...)

Ah, so there are more than the roughly 1000 some users the counter showed as consistently online during the last big event (the Vesnali holiday)? It seems like a close shave if there's only about that many users for Subeta that are active, but if there are more than that, maybe not so much. It definitely didn't occur to me that of course we're not going to see a total, just online users. Shrugs.

Also, I can't seem to edit previous posts, so sorry for any weird sentences in it (like that quests part... I meant buying quest items, lol). AH well, My mistakes bared for eternity!

That's 700-900 people on at a time. It doesn't mean that 100 people can't sign off and 100 new people log in. Also events like this draw more users online at once than average days.

My issue with this is don't most users do quests on a daily basis anyway?

More seriously though, like I said before in a suggestion thread for this, while I don't really WANT another pet slot, I'll be very excited to participate and help those who are dying for one to achieve their goal :). Aaaaaaaand I guuuuueeeess since I'm battle-addicted having juuuust ooone mooore pet wouldn't be toooooooo expensive to train... riiiiiiight?

This is a cool idea in theory!

However: it's pretty much asking for every single active user (anywhere from 700+ to 900+ right?) to participate faithfully for the whole week. That's a whole lot of users, and a big expectation to place on that, with the reward tied solely to participation by the whole.

Also, the economy's been pretty effed for a while, but the past week has been particularly bad (due to the latest in a long string of restock-related fiascos), and it'll take time for things like buying quests to even out on cost ratios again because of the hit everyone took who relied on restocking and profits from that for their income + things not necessarily restocking reliably in NPC shops.

I'm just kind of concerned that this is asking a lot, and doing it right on the cusp of another setback on restocking tweaks. :(

That said--I plan to participate.

Sorry, I am not normally a complainer ,but, , why has the Library quest changed? I lost money on all quests. These quests were barely feasible before, but now Alexander is asking for jewelry with every book. I dislike this very much.

Also I am SO glad that this isn't competitive!! The idea of the whole community working together is really exciting, it feels like usually things are divided up unless it's battle events (and even then there's still an element of competition to those.) I love that I've already seen people say that they're uninterested in new pet slots but want to help out nonetheless! I'm so excited aaaaa

So 500k/7 days~=~~71kish quests/day say 1 in 5 participants have gold accounts (4Ã—10+15)/5=11 quests per NPCÃ—8to10npcs~~=~~100 quests per person per day 71K/100~~=~710ish people need to join in everyday!

Is that even close? Can I math today? Lol

I would love to have a Zapper pet with a unisex name that would eventually would become a Nightmare Fester. I can do all quests, but Carl because no profit on Carl, but I can still do that to win a pet slot. I do not mind losing a little bit of money for this reward. However Sarah does not allow me to do her quests. I have too much money. The rest I can co. That is if my back quits hurting. I pulled muscles in it and had a fall. Yay me. I am falling apart. You don't have to do every quest giver! It's okay if you can't do Sarah or Saggi or Carl. Just do whatever quests you can :D
