The Antique Shop is now open!

There are two ways to purchase items from the Antique Shop. For now, there are tabs for the Islander items and Pirate items, but future tabs for other plot and event prizes will be added. By going to the main section for these, youâ€™ll be buying items full price and be able to do whatever you want with them. For example you could buy the Salty Chart Pieces from the Pirates tab and put them in your petâ€™s treasure chest, one of your galleries, your vault, or even send it to a friend!

The second way to purchase items from the Antique shop is by clicking one of the item types after â€œDirect To Collectionsâ€. For example, if you click books youâ€™ll have all the book listed from the different events (right now only pirate and islander books are listed). By buying an item from this tab, youâ€™ll be getting a nice discount and bypass your inventory. In the case of foods and books, these items will be fed/read to your active pet. When you feed/read the foods/books to your pet or buy a plushie/beanbag, they disappear from this section so you can easily keep track of what you still need to purchase. If you end up reading all the books to your pet from the books tab (whether through the antique shop or your inventory!), the tab will disappear until we add another old plot/event!

We will give you guys a heads up before we get rid of any other retired currencies just like we did with the islander/pirate currencies! Remember you can still convert your old pirate/islander points in for sP here!

The weapons shouldn't be seen as stats compared to price but as desirable antiquity for interested parties.

Quite honestly, what I predicted came true - the only items I have for sale are darn cheap in the shop now...

I always end up paying a fortune and not getting it back, because Subeta decides to cheaply rerelease my assets.

They /are/ available to everyone. That doesn't mean you don't need to work for them just like the people who bought them with plot points did.

this is from a person who did participate in this plot and work hard for the points. i don't think it's fair and the prices are crazy expensive. there's making it difficult to get something and then there's going overboard. in my opinion, this is going overboard. items shouldn't be super exclusive if the staff planned to make them available to everyone.

I agree that it's awkward that some of the items are/were cheaper in user shops to begin with. However, I don't think that means the items that still retained their high values should be given away cheaply now, too.

The leis were an item hunt killer for a long time, and there are fewer and fewer of those left on the site now.

But hey, the leis aren't available for less than 30mil in shops now :P

aha. I was kind of excited for this shop and... hah, I understand why the prices are so high but I'm more than a little overwhelmed.. I'm glad we have the option of getting these items now but I can't see myself putting so much sP toward single items that don't have as nice of art as newer items. I'd rather wait and see if similar but prettier items come out.

I really hate to complain but I don't know. This will probably work as a sP sink for people with a huge pile of sP but for me, and apparently a number of other people, the prices are just too steep. I'm glad the items are available again but I just can't see myself taking advantage of this, I'm not a hardcore enough collector. I wonder how many people are, tbh.

But good for you(s?). :P It is wonderful for the items that weren't priced now there is a chance to get them. People wanted sp sinks and complained about them, so many times. Least they are making strides towards it. And also people can get collection items. ^_^

Hustler tends to put too many rare items into the system when it's a good hustle. That devalues them. Allowing users to pay small prices for these items would do the same thing to them - devalue them.

Regardless the leis are still under 5mil so that's even less than the 3mil=100CSC rate, so even if they were hustled, they are still way fucking cheaper in user shops now. Usually when something is hustled, and it's a good hustle, is stays high priced or at least above the conversion rate.

The fact that they've been so undercut shows they aren't they high in demand. Making them 37mil isn't going to help them sell any more in the Antique Shop and that's just gonna make it worse for an sP.

I don't think Reading Drive items will turn out that expensive. Reading Drive Shop was a rip off once the 2nd year came round and points were so much easier to get, making the top prize Malice worth close to nothing :(

Ah stop complaining and be happy you are ABLE to buy some of this crap now. I got the cork cutlass off the other boat for 60mil so I am relieved, but rarely use it. I want the sword of the seven seas but can't afford it. But at least I CAN buy it if I had money. You aren't supposed to be able to buy all of this because it was from a plot. I'm happy about some of the books.

In comparison to what the asking price is without the Hustler? Yeah, he was giving those away. 250 CSC was what, 7-8m at the time?

- Yeah, I believe that was the case. If I recall correctly, the non-battle way to get points was by restocking - and like most restock wars, it quickly got extremely hard to get the necessary items unless you were really good at restocking, which most weren't. Battling, meanwhile, was a pretty reliable way to get points... but a lot of the opponents were too strong for people who weren't that into battling, which led to a LOT of people having very low scores, and being able to afford basically nothing in the prize shops until the staff added a small number of cheaper items (many of which were still awfully pricy for those people)

I think that's part of why the 75k-per-point ratio leads to such a huge price jump - the bulk of the prizes were upwards of 200 points, so it's not surprising that that ratio works okay for the few cheap items but leads to ridiculous prices for everything else.

I'll admit that I was one of the people who got very few points back then due to how the event was set up, so when I heard about the Antique Shop, I hoped it'd be able to remedy the issues of that plot a little. It's nice to have the items available again, but like I said in my earlier comment: it really does feel like the 75k-per-point ratio leads to unevenly high prices for a lot of the items. Feels a bit too similar to the issues with the original point costs, I have to admit.

While I appreciate that there is now a way to get these items, I think I will keep saving my sP hoard. In fact, I think I will keep adding to it, because at these prices, these items are no longer on my 'eventually get' list. I may someday cave and buy the books. You know, once my pet has read all the others on the site, and there are none left but these. Bye sP sink.

sincerely hopes that the Epicon and Reading Drive Items are this bad I get that the shop was always skewed (I was around for this event, but didn't manage to get many items), but damn. Might as well have called this the Billionaire Center, rather than Antique Shop.

While it's those prices are nothing, I don't really see myself buying any of those items ever for those prices lol. TBH, most of those items are only for the really, really hardcore and desperate people with wardrobes that must have ever single official wearable item purely because it exists. I mean, that much for the shell and grass ankle wraps? No thanks.

It's too bad since, while I can understand the desire to have the items retain their value, if this was calculated as a move to remove sP from the system as a sink, it was a really poor one, since if I had tons and tons of sP I would probably look at half of those items and go "nah" since I could get a CW for probably less with better art anyways (as far as wearables and TC fodder goes).

That said it's nice that they listed to suggestions and that this exists for people who really need it, but as it sits right now, it's unlikely I'll personally be taking advantage of it at those prices. -shrugs-
