Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
The Custom Wearable Pawn Shop is cleared,
Happy birthday to me.
I tried to make a CW but it was so ridiculous. The hassle was just stupid. Plus the prices were usually WAY too much; I'd never pay 500-600CSC for most of them. I say it was a good idea to empty the stock.
...and seeing as though it was Jeremy who supposedly did the clearing, I hope his birthday's terrible and so is his next year! XS
Not to mention there was at least one dress in the pawn shop that was a LOCKED CW in a player's CW shop meaning exclusive. Now that seller can't even try to get it back to resell as it was limited in quantity to begin with. This was the worst decision staff could have ever made!
i'm a bit perturbed at this, considering keith originally claimed in the SB that he would not be deleting/clearing CWs from the pawn shop, just having a sale... :s
As I said I understand the concerns, then again though, as soon as the items are on Subeta, they are Subetas property and no longer the users. I do agree that this maybe could have been handled with in a different fashion, maybe giving the artists (if they still play subeta) the 'slots' back when these items were deleted. So if, let's say there were 2 copies of item x and onne of item y the artist a wold be able to sell 2 item x and one tem y in their cw shp again. That way they would be able to re-enter the copies on site again.
I am sure however that the next time such a clearence happens, staff will modify it a bit and try to incorporate some of the concerns.
Well this pretty much ensured that I will never pawn a CW...or create one for that matter. I'd rather have them rot in my account vault than be deleted.
Some sort of clarification on what happened to the cleared CWs would be amazing, especially for the users commenting here that had submitted them to the site. (Note: I am /not/ one of those people). I have to agree with some others here that deleting them outright is incredibly sketchy.
The clearing hint left in the initial news post was not clear. Mentioning Esmerelda, to me, indicated that the /regular/ pawn shop would be cleared, not the CW section as Esmerelda has nothing to do with CWs as far as I'm aware.
As a suggestion for the future: Send the copies back to the person that submitted it to the site in the first place to do what they will with it. If the information to find the submitting user is available to normal users, and it is, then the information is also available behind the scenes.
I just saw this and I couldn't agree more. Getting rid of all those CWs that were bought and paid for is really, really wrong. This is why I feel the layer suggestion I made ages ago for the Pawn Shop would be a lot better. Putting items into separate sub-sections based on each layer in the wardrobe would really help with the overwhelming amount of CWs in the pawn shop. The main pawn shop CW section would still have all the CWs in it, but to make it easier on the eyes, and finding things, have each item placed in a sub-category that correlates to each wardrobe section.
People's CSC, I agree, shouldn't just be mass-cleared like that :/
Agreed. There could also have a little red exclamation mark next to the items set for clearing so that anyone that is looking at a particular item could grab it before it goes. There maybe could also be a section where the soon-to-be-cleared items could be put into so that they're more readily and easily seen by people so that they don't miss out
If there were CWs deleted, that's pretty shitty tbh. If they were bought out, then that's great, but these aren't regular site items. People paid real money for them to exist, so deleting them, regardless of any underplayed hint from an npc, is super sketchy and totally unacceptable.
Well, if they were outright deleted then I guess that means a couple of the CWs I created that were one batch are now fewer in number. If I had known they were going to go "poof" I would have made efforts to buy them back and at least have them in my vault for later use.
… :
The disconcerting thing is that with CWs, some people pay real money to get a batch online, so it would have been nice if there was a few hours warning beforehand so if anyone who didn't want their items to be deleted they could have bought them out of the pawn shop. Especially if it was of limited batches. It doesn't matter if the items didn't sell, some people would've bought them back just to not get the copies deleted off the site.
And I understand that they mentioned they were clearing them out with the sale, but to me it sounded like a "clear out sale" not "we're going to be deleting these copies off the site after a sale". So I think it just would have been nice to have a warning at like 6pm that day and be like "Hey don't forget the sale is gonna end at midnight and when the sale ends we're going to be clearing out the CW portion of pawn shop".
thank god.
Happy birthday!
However, cant we do a standing rule that CW's that sit over 30 days will be deleted instead of having to clear the entire shop like that? Some of those items were only there a few days :(
Several of us users manually cleared the regular pawn shop by buying everything over the past few months, so it was empty a few days ago :)
happy birthday jeremy!!
kinda glad it's been cleared out.
Wow...that's just really horrible clearing the CW section like that! There was no warning or anything! The news said that the section needed clearing out but it DIDN'T say that it was going to be CLEARED!
Crap...If I knew that the items were going to be DELETED, I would have added more CSC to my account and bought some of my WL items I've been waffling over >.<
Part of me wants to go yay, but the bigger part of me is pissed because I was waiting until payday to pick up a few cws.
D'oh! I missed the sale. Ah well. Happy Birthday Jeremy. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU JEREMY! Thank you for all the great deals we got!
Totally not regretting buying all those CWs now. lol
Oh, so that meant actually deleting the CWs? i was expecting something like this, yes, but wasn't sure it would actually happen. i should have probbaly gotten that WL wig, but oh well. I actually want to see what items will get in there now.. were you talking about some 'Tique stuff?
Oh, and happy birthday, of course, can i have some cake? or just a drink? LOL
Happy Birthday Jeremy!
But somehow I'm pissed, that all items were cleared. I was really annoyed with the fact, that when I came online the day after that announcement (European here!), some of the items I would have bought were more expensive than without the sale. But no, no chance for me to buy them now at their regular price 'cuz they got deleted.
cries I was saving up to get some things from the pawn shop
I'm glad as well to see the heaps of unwanted CWs gone. I understand that the deleting of CWs seems disturbing for some users but then again, nobody did buy the remaining items in question so, why not remove them from site?
Happy Birthday :)
Happy Birthday !
Happy birthday Jeremy! Personally very glad to see the pawn shop cleared, there were way too many CWS in there that nobody was buying.
If I would have known that clearing out means deleting the items I would have looked if there were some of my items and bought my items back.
I didn't think you guys would delete the CWs! If I'd known I would've taken the risk and actually bought csc with real money. rip
Man I should not have gone to look. forces self not to buy those boots But um, happy belated birthday!
Happy birthday to you, Esmeralda! I miss a full PS, though! :-)
Saying items needed to be cleared out and putting them on sale is a lot different from completely deleting the items. What?
Oh what they are all deleted? If I knew they were gonna be deleted I would have bought more of them. RIP CWs and happy birthday
Yea I would like to know where the CWs actually went. Having them deleted seems really sketchy to me.... well ?
actually nevermind lol.. i went off of what your quote said.. i never saw the actual newpost .. wish i had noticed there was a sale ..arrgghh ..
that made it sound like the regular pawnshop was going to be cleared though and not the cw shop
Love to see the ACTUAL pawn shop cleared too but y'know.
we did have a heads up on the 14th. "I need to clear out my shop as I heard Esmerelda..." "so this is going to end on my birthday, which just happens to be this Monday the 18th"
It definitely could have been more explicit, but we did at least have something.
Hate to say but i am a bit disappointed that there wasn't at least a warning before this was done. there where some items in there i wanted to pull this next payday
Happy Birthday, Jeremy! :D
Jeremy has a birthday?..Can a npc have a birthday? What am I talking about Wood has a birthdayxP Glad some of those horrible cw's that DESPRATELY need revamps are gone now..some will probably come back, but hopefully not as much :P
Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you You need a friggin revamp Happy birthday to you
Happy B-day to you indeed. I'd sing my best lounge lizard version of the song but only my sister gets to hear that... :)
Yeah also hoping they weren't just wiped from the site. They aren't like normal site items where the users didn't pay actual money to get them on the site...
Wow! About time lol
Uh... where did they all go though?
Personally I am very glad to see the shop emptied... does not matter to me if they deleted them or what... but I am curious to know... I suffer from 'satiable curiosity
As someone who had several copies of a CW I created in the pawn shop (at least one copy of which I pawned myself), I don't mind at all that they were deleted. If they were suddenly dumped in my inventory, I would have pawned them all again.
I do wish there would have been a clearer warning for those who would have chosen to buy back their items instead of letting them get deleted, but I personally don't care either way.
