Black Friday 2014 Announcements + Gift of Fashions Past Chance Machine

Like last year, our annual Black Friday sale in the Cash Shop will start early! You'll have from November 24th through December 1st to load up on sale goodies!

Because of the extension of the sale, we areÂ notÂ going to be doing price matches for 10 days prior as we have previously. We wanted to make sure to give you the heads up so you don't mistakenly buy something before the sale expecting to be refunded the difference.Â

We're currently discussing the logistics of Custom Wearable inclusion due to their recent changes. We'll let you know about that soon!

This year will be the last year that pet slots, pet name changes, username changes, and pet overlays will be included in the Black Friday sale. If you've got some more room in your family or want to change up some names, you might want to consider doing them for such a great deal while you can!

In the mean time, enjoy our newly reworked Gift of Fashions Past. For a mere 50CSC, you can now take a whirl at the Gift of Fashions Past Chance Machine. You get one item per turn. Existing boxes will continue to work as they have, but will not be sold directly from the Cash Shop anymore.

Note: The Chance Machines and December 2014 Collection will not be included in the Black Friday sale.

I know the special botique sets are retiring on the 17th, Im curious why not have them until december? I mean black friday is a week and a half after they retire. Or did you guys not want them to be part of it like the ones last year?

I like the idea of the machine, but will miss the GoFP box. I can see part of the objection to the change, as in a way it's like gifting cash which can suggest (well in RL it can) that no thought was put into the gift. But, gifting 500csc still strikes me as better option as the person gets to spend it on whatever they want.
The only thing that baffles me is why "Black Friday" is named as such. The only time "black" is associated with a day here is to denote a tragedy. I'm not complaining about this, I'm simply curious as to how this sale (and it's RL counterparts)got it's name.

I wish you could buy slots for custom overlays. I don't have any I can use right now, but I plan to in the future, and I would have loved to take advantage of the sale for that. Ah well. They're not terribly expensive at the normal price.

Sad that pet slots, name changes, and overlays won't be included after this year. I'll have to see what I can afford this time. Thanks for the advance notice.

We've gotten super advanced notice for this year's BF and it's extended.
They're pretty cheap already... so halving that is crazy! ❤️

I will definitely be taking advantage of this year's pet slots knowing that I can't next year. P= It never hurts to have open slots anyway, right? (Like I'd actually be able to keep them open. lololol)

I really like the GoFP machine!! I know someone mentioned they didn't like the confirmation but as someone who doesn't get much CSC, I really like having it... that way I don't accidentally do more spins than I would have wanted. And it still adds up to the same amount of CSC for the same amount of items, which is pretty cool. Also I don't feel as badly for spending 500CSC and getting a lot of mediocre items because I only spent 50 at a time. It's not such a big bullet to bite, haha

I feel like not having the pixel art of the box isn't that bad of a trade-off for the new system, and you can still pick a pretty paper in the gift center for your items.

Thanks to the team for continuing to come up with new things and some cheaper options for the less CSC-rich users! It's really nice!

Weh, weh, weh. You people would complain if they hung you with a new rope. I, personally, like this change. You can stop after so much CSC, rather than spending 500+ CSC or more on boxes that would give you crap, regardless.

If you really wanna gift someone something, gift them the CSC required to play 10 times. If they don't use it for that specific use, who cares? The idea is gifting, not what the person does with what you gift them. Stop whining.

And I think this is just nicer, what if you've got 100CSC or even just 50CSC to spend. Before you had to keep saving to get the box, now you can have one or two spins :).

unnnnnngh, I don't like the idea of the GOFP being a chance machine. I loved buying them and getting my random items. I know the price is the same, but seeing all items at once, and instantly seeing what I needed, that was amazing. Sigh. Guess I got to get used to it. :(

The thing is that you can't give a box as a gift to someone anymore. That's the difference. Every so often I liked doing that, too...I can understand ease for programming but it's unfortunate that you can't give them as gifts anymore. Sure you can gift the CSC with the intention for that to be used for the machine, but not always will that happen, or ever XD

and re: the item going away, this makes way more sense. The items are in a chance machine and that makes it much easier for us to add / remove items from it depending on their value. Items make these sort of things really messy.

Why are all the chance items being done away with in the CS?!? :( I LOVED buying GoFPs for myself AND for gifts! :( Now this is gone, too! Not impressed!
