OMG! The attitude of some users. This isn't about the artists abilities, it's about some of their more questionable decisions considering this revamp. For instance; ignoring all but one the criticisms from last time. (They made it frown, that's it. The fur still looks like a rubber suit, the tails are still down and it still looks way too passive.) Also, to fuck with anyone who says, "just use an overlay." None of you even OWN a darkonite, so sit the hell down! Unless you own one, you don't tell me what to do. Not to mention, I already thought of that and got it done but it's still not a viable solution, not really. Why not? Because it's not going to affect the rest of the site unless I spend a lot of time to rearrange my profile and pay to have it appear in pet thumbnails and every where else so no, an overlay isn't going to be the magical, be all end all, solution to this problem.
bulleta: Considering they insulted me first? Yes. In fact, why are you getting on my case? They were openly antagonistic with their response and when people are, it's not my job to behave or act better to balance out their bad behavior. Go yell at the real problem next time.

ughhh why don't I have a Darkonite or five, they're one of my favorites-- but seriously the revamp is NICE. yeah, they're different from the original but was there REALLY a way to tidy up that old, old, old art without making a few tweaks to blend it in? if they'd have just remade the same image, y'all still wouldn't be happy. I think they've done a wonderful job, personally, and I hope they continue to do so despite all of you Negative Nancies trying to ruin everyone's fun. if you don't like the new art, just use an overlay, that's what they're there for. I'm sure there'll be people doing it on the cheap or even for free, since it's just a minor tweak to change colors (especially on the Arid that I see people complaining about).

I think that the artist did an excellent job uniting the level of detail and anatomical precision illuminated in the revamps while maintaining the impish nature of the Darkonite species. I love KyotoAngel's remark about the Jersey Devil.

To the few super-complainers: use overlays and get off your soap boxes. I could understand being pissed if overlays weren't an option, but they are so not only do I not have sympathy for you, stop making the poor artist feel like shit. The artist already received enough during all the different revamp attempts. Be grateful they didn't change the darkonite to look like a crocodile or something or even take the specie away due to all "do this, don't do that" feedback. Get over yourselves. Don't give someone shit after all their hard work to try their best to please the majoity.
Nice art, nice work from the artists and everything. Still, they took the personality out of my favorite species, and it just isn't the same. Change is good, I don't deny that, but the Darkonite is ruined for me. We can still use overlays, which is good.

The Darkonite is supposed to be one of the darker pets of Subeta and I find it atrocious that the damn [b]PRIGGLE[b] gets a darker color pallet than the Darkonite.

I retract my post a bit...Hydrus DEFINITELY needs a revamp lol!
All I can say is that, after looking the full page of Darkonite colours and poses over, please, please, please don't change the specialty colours except for maybe Graveyard, Chibi and maybe spruce the Nightmare up a little (not much, just a little tidy). They're phenomenal as-is. I especially love the Glade and Reborn! The more I look at the Glade and Reborn poses, the more I want a pair of Darkonites in those colours. Possibly Darkmatter, too, as it's also adorable.

Have you ever heard of a fantasy hybrid animal? Griffon? Centaur? I'm sure you have. There are multiple fantasy hybrids out there. This is one of them, Subeta-style. I'd even go as far as to say that the Aeanoid doesn't have matching "feet". It has a bunch of tentacle-like roots and two hands (I just think of them as short legs moreso than arms with hands).
Here is a list of a bunch of hybrid creatures from myths and lore.
Saying that their feet not matching is kind of a blow to the artist. In a lot of cases there's nothing wrong with mis-matched feet. This is one of those cases. Let your imagination go! What if you wanted to put a Dragon and a Wolf together, or a Leopard and a Kangaroo? What about a Koala with a Rabbit or an Owl with a Cat? The sky's the limit with possibilities!
This revamp is fabulous. Not my all-time fave specie but it's been beautifully done! Well done to the artist that put up with all the comments, votes, suggestions, changes and everything else under the sun to get this done right!

Anyway, I think I'm alright with this revamp. A little disappointed about the tails but it's not a massive issue since that's just the pose for the common colours. I still have my glorious Nightmare Darkonite

I agree with SongSparra, the horns on the side of the face look a bit like large pimples! Other than that, however, I really think this revamp was very well-done! It's a definite improvement from the last revamp design proposal! :D

Looking at these again...I actually really love how the back ones are hooves and the front are paws. Gives it a teeny bit of a "Jersey Devil" kind of vibe for me, like when their owners/"parents" are asleep, these little critters walk on their hind legs around town and cause all sorts of mischief. =3
Anyone have a comparison of all the proposed revamps? Would like to see what got changed between the versions.

OMG They look so nice! I loved Darkonites before and I still do! Even with the revamp I'm not sure if they'll revamp the Angel Darkonite! Hopefully yes and here's to that it turns epic! :D Aritheos will love it!
