Reading Drive Prizes!

Alexander and Archie would like to thank everyone who participated in the reading drive! They are both quite happy with the number of books they received, and are looking forward to passing them on to Subeta's youth!

They spent all night making sure that everyone's points were in order, and now that they've finished, they are happy to announce that the Reading Drive Shop is open! The shop is full of items both new and old, and our resident A-Team is certain you'll find something you like. You got 2 points for each book turned in, 1 point for each quest you completed, and 10 points for each day of the scavenger hunt you completed.

If the points aren't correct I think I will wait to buy anything in the shop until it's straightened out. Just glancing I didn't see anything I wanted badly anyway.

it's like I didn't get any points added for the page quests at all

I'm a little confused. I had 702 books turned in. that times 2 = 1404 Then I had 304 points for quests and that makes it 1709

I did the quests and got all of the pages...

so why do I only have 1709 points? Shouldn't I have points for the page quest thing?

Either the reading drive page had inaccurate points listed from Alexander last night or I'm missing a bunch of points. Trust...I just did the math and it does not add up to what the prize shop says I have.

I would have participated more, but the shop wasn't counting my points (they are showing now). I was like basically, what's the point if they aren't even going to record my points?

I know there was a lot of complaining about this event, but I enjoyed it! I'm glad to hear there won't be another reading drive in the future, though... less drama, please! :) It is good to know that Keith & everyone on the Subeta Team are really trying to make events fun & entertaining. Thanks for the hard work!

Points breakdown on the RD page till you could submit books : one point per book , one point per library quest , five points for each missing page returned during the scavenger hunt . Your spending points are 2x your book turned in plus 2x the no of scavenger quests you have done (five points per quest) plus your library quest no . Do your own math .

Nope not miscalculating. Too many are missing points for that ;) Books I turned in (150) Quest completed (251) and Scavanger Hunt was (7)

You got 2 points for each book turned in, 1 point for each quest you completed, and 10 points for each day of the scavenger hunt you completed

(2150)+251+(710)=621

While my points in shop are 551 which would be the amount from just books and quest help.

..On the other hand, I feel bad for complaining because there are SO MANY beautiful items and I've gotten my bookworm pet Wemberly so many new books to write. The Pemberley letter set almost has her name too!

So I'm um, half-excited and half-bummed, or something.

I'm bummed that the items are so expensive, given that I spent a lot of SP on the scavenger hunt and buying expensive books. I have almost no SP left, but only got 450 points.

I'm hoping there will be additional points, as it seems everyone's missing something.

The items in the shop are awesome. I just wish they were a bit cheaper.

Typical.. The Reading Drive comes but once a year, the shop fills with things I want and references to things I love- so much Discworld! Elric of Melnibone!- and I just HAVE to go on holiday to a place with no internet... Oh well. At least the cheap stuff'll be in the shops soon.

I think people are just miscalculating. The points that you saw earlier for the hunt + quests, were already calculated as described above. So you only have to multiply your books by 2, and then add the number of points you had for the hunt + quests. At least my points are correct. I got 400 books turned in, and I had 250 hunt + quest points, so I have (400*2)+250 points = 1050 points.

And thanks for this! I was really not sure about spending millions and millions on getting to 400 books to turn in, but the prize shop is definitely worth it. I'll even finally be able to buy some things from the previous years that have been on my wishlist for ages!

I have an odd feeling that my points are off by a little, too. But I can't remember exactly how many quests I did.

Thanks for pricing everything so fairly - I can't get absolutely everything I want, but that's because I really wanted the Reviver of the Lion (I'm going to be able to beat a lot more challengers that way, I think!) and that took a lot of points, which is only fair. And I'll probably be able to buy some of the smaller things later.

Hmm I think my points are off. I turned in 298 books and had over 200 quests plus everyday scav done. My points are about 30 points off from what I should have. :(
