Nah, pride is still pride. I don't go into town naked spouting how proud I am of my beautiful body.
Plasmastar, that's enough. This news post was to announce a free gift, not to incite a debate. If you must debate, go to the Debate forums.
"Educate yourself about an issue before you spout misinformation about it; otherwise you end up looking ignorant. Also, know your audience." -Cranberry :P
And that's why there's hate about. It's annoying, nobody cares any more and you just keep at it. Broken records, jeesh.
Thank you Cranberry!! Perfectly stated!
“Gay Pride was not born of a need to celebrate being gay, but our right to exist without persecution. So instead of wondering why there isn’t a Straight Pride movement, be thankful you don’t need one.” -Anonymous
Plasmastar please just stop... No one is forcing you to or anyone else into anything. The whole Gay Marriage debate is for equal rights that straight married couples have.
On a previous comment: Marriage is a religious practice, but is also secular. Someone does not need to be married in a church, or by a pastor/priest/ whoever.
It's a step in the right direction. <3
I'm all for love. I'm all for loving another color, the same sex, or even your brother (wink wink). "Pride" is what I DON'T love. Don't care for it, don't wanna see it. It's stupid that people won't let you be, but it's also stupid that you have to force it on everyone around you.
Thank you very much. :3 &;
I for one am quite proud of America today ^.^ I really never understood this one- if religion wants politics to keep out of religion, than religion should return the favor and keep their morality out of politics, no? And I /am/ a Christian. Which means I follow the teachings of the man, Christ, in all that love everyone, be nice, don't be a jerk sort of way. Wish more of my sect would read /those/ words instead of the one or two archaic ones from 1000 years before the very founder of our religion was even born....but I digress. USA USA USA!
It's sad. People have to fight for their right to be happy. It shouldn't be that way, but at least they've won another battle and will hopefully win the war.
PS - Just to let people know, there are plenty of Christians out there who don't believe or read the bible. Being a Christian is defined as believing in God, obeying the ten commandments, and being a moral person, which doesn't necessarily mean going by everything the Bible says. The Holy Bible was written by what man thinks God would want, and man is very flawed, as we all know. Do not group all Christians as being bad people just because a few have some screws loose.
I just saw the news IRL and I just looked at this news post... back and forth. YEYZ.
Marriage IS a religious tradition. You don't see the preacher in front slipping some nice little words into the lovers' ears "It's ok, I'll ask him to turn the other way while we do this thing."
N'aw my heart messed up. :'(
Well, ignoring the few rude comments from a certain user, congratulations, America! &; I'm happy for you guys!
LOVE is LOVE! This is awesome. :D
Also, I agree with what said 100%
Yay. :3
Love it!
hahaha someone's playing god in the news comments! thanks for the lulz. I just imagine you dressed up as oprah saying "You get a trip to hell, you get a trip to hell, everybody gets a trip to hell! hahahahahaha!"
I love it!! <3
Subeta is faster than the german news. Big win for the love. Big win for america. :D
Marriage has nothing to do with religion. On that note, please keep in mind this is not the place for a debate. Play nice.
I wouldn't bother feeding the troll(s) guys. That aside, lovely sticker. Thanks subeta and thank you supreme court ^-^
Wow uh...let me just say Plasmastar, you should just keep your ignorant comments to yourself because all you're doing is making yourself look bad.
And I'm very proud of the efforts of the citizens of my country for making this leap forward for universal equality. All love is equal, no matter the gender, race, culture, or religious background, etc.
If people weren't so blindsided by their "moral" laws from a book that was written 3500 years ago, maybe they could see that.
I personally believe we are making progress to a better nation each day, and /eventually/ we will have a place where people wont hate each other for being different.
However one can only hope that is the case. :P
Lol because marraige is only for religious folk. Ok then.
Ffff YAY QUEER LOVE YAAAAY 'RAINBOW SPARKLE DANCES'
Is this because of that big win for gay marriage recently? :o You guys work fast :3
o_O Ok then.
As for the item.. it's lovely! Glad to see things went as they did and it's nice to have a little something to commemorate it here. :) I'll be happen when there is a day were there is no one else left to be the "them" to be hated. I hope such a day does occur.
I'll suck a winkie any day to prove my point.
Oh, I'm no homophobe. Don't get me wrong. I just don't think you should be whining and begging the government to step into the bounds of religion.
such a good summer to do my government homework. xD YAY.
surprised that homophobes existed on subeta though. laughs into the sunset.
I thought it was a pride butterfly at first. Then I realized what it actually said. Not I can't remember how I made it look like a butterfly.
Yay! :D
awww, no wearable pin? :3
lol at the butthurt people
Yay!
Love does not have a gender. <3 Oh how I hope the whole world will recognize that one day.
Yay! One step closer to equality for all! <3
Love is love! This country is FINALLY moving in the right direction! :D Thank you for this wonderful tribute. :D
I for one am glad we support our homosexual brethren. When it comes down to it, their genes will not be passed down and we can all get own with our lives when they die off.
Yay! We're slowly getting there. :)
I thought those hearts was a mustache...then realized that wouldnt make much sense.
...Sorry I have no comment.
What a nice gesture. It's a big day! Congratulations, America!
This morning was a good morning. ^_^
I knew there would be an item of some kind to commemorate today. ;)
Loves it!
Free trips to hell. Yay!
Neat to have a new item to celebrate such a big milestone in the struggle for marriage equality. Now to decide how to use the sticker.
Great gift. Thank you.
Be fair now. Plasmastar's got every right to voice his or her opinion on the situation. Actually, illustrates a great point- why is it totally acceptable to everyone to see a girl and guy getting it on, and yet if a same sex couple kiss in public they are "forcing it on" someone? Does anyone get all up in arms that a hetero couple wants to kiss in public? Isn't that "forcing" heterosexuality on others?
