Subeautique Change!

In order to change with fashion trends, Esmerelda at the Subeautique has changed the way that you purchase her wares!

Now you can find a Subeautique Invitation while wandering around the site, which when redeemed, gives you access to the current items that Esmerelda is selling (which change frequently!). You can also sell the invitation instead of redeeming it!

Each invitation will get you one item in the boutique, so make sure you get something you want!

She still charges an arm and a leg for her clothes though, so don't expect any discounts!

This looks like an interesting change, can't really comment on it until I get back home from school. Good thing I was able to snag one on my phone.

You must have an invitation.

You can see items in the shop until you spend all of your invitations by buying items. Then you'll get an error saying you need an invitation to shop at the sbq.

Confused - if I use the invite to go into the shop and the 1 item I want isn't listed, then what? Do I have to buy something or lose the shop privilege or can I keep going back until the item I want shows up? There are only 2 items I really want from Sub so want to make sure how this works first.

You need an invitation to even enter the shop.

One invitation = one item, then you are out until you get another one (unless you have more than one cashed in at once).

So after you redeem your invite, do you only have so long to buy something before that invitation expires?
I was just going to ask this. I cashed in my invitation because I thought it expires and the items in the shop are the only ones available - meaning new items wouldn't re list and you could STILL use your invitation. Does it expire after the next re listing?
And thanks for letting us find them on the site.

Now do you HAVE to have an invitation in order to shop from there? Or can you go in on your own accord and shop?

Oh, I just saw the comment that they come in random events, never mind!

My only question is, will the invites appear in the corner like floating items, or will they appear as random events? I'm just confused on how we're going to find/collect these invites.

Best. Idea. EVER. I totally gave up RSing at SBQ ages ago and now I won't have to pay crazy amounts in user shops for the items I want!

After the coin machine revamp, I've got grand total of 2 coins... but I suck at restocking so we shall see.

Oh my goodness. I can see how this will be good for the value of subbeautique items, but so not good for my hopes of collecting everything I want. Or maybe it'll be better? ack & Wah! for the suspense and the suspicions :P Let's hope those invites aren't totally impossible to find...I must have the rainyday sets. MUST!!

This is all good, unless we get an invitation as often as we are able to catch a BHH restock

Yay I might actually get something from SubQ now! XD

I'm not sure how it removes the middle man though, the invitations are sellable, which means people who don't care/want to make profit will just sell those instead, for a lot of sP still

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by PoeticEnigma

But sP is still going to be moving around, you just changed what item it is going to be centered around (invites vs actual items). I'm confused. Well. .. we'll see how it pans out. I just feel bad for anyone who was/is an SBQ collector :-/

This way it's a sP sink, and less sP moving around (to the middle men). We aren't trying to drive down prices, we want SBQ to be rare and hard to get a complete set of anything, and I think that this pretty much sets that in stone. It'll be harder to buy the items from user shops, but much easier if you get the invitations yourself and wait for the item you want to pop up.

I love this! ...I think. I need to get back to doing quests everyday so I can find some. :)

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by PoeticEnigma

But the middle man is still being an sP sink, since they're buying from the shop, sP still leaves the system. The amount of sP they get from selling to other users isn't created out of thin air so. . . IDK It just seems like the same amount of people are going to be 'sinking sP' in the old way and the new way. IDK now maybe I'd understand it more if the invites were in the MC for crazy amounts but. . .random events don't sink anything lol

Oh. Well then. I really don't understand the point of the change at all then XD Why remove the middle man if not to drive down prices?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Keith

PoeticEnigma - This isn't really mean to bring down the prices. The idea is that the people who want the items will get the invitions (either by collecting them themselves or buying them from other users who don't care), buying the items, and putting them in their wardrobe. It removes the middle man (restockers) from the SBQ.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by PoeticEnigma
User Avatar

Not sure how I feel about this. I may be glad I gave up trying to collect all the SBQ clothing after this change. I don't see the prices coming down in user shops since this seems to really limit the pool of available items. . . but at the same time maybe this will help since more than the same people with fast connections can restock?

hrmm.

From the questions I'm seeing: They are random events. The invitation gets used when you purchase something, so if there is nothing in the shop you want/not stocked you can come back later. You have the option to sell the invitation if you would rather the sp then items. This is what I am gathering of it so far.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Keith

And, the shop is open to you as long as you have 1 or more invites in your currency bank. The invites are only taken away when you buy an item, so you can keep coming back until she has an item that you want! :D

Sorry, another question!

I noticed that there is a subeautique invites in the vault section -- does this mean that we can pile up invites, and pick an item whenever one we want actually restocks? Or do we have a limited time to pick one of the items listed only? (:

I think this has the potential to be a really great change. ❤️ It seems really interesting so far, and I hope I can find an Invitation floating around somewhere~ That being said it probably is something that's really rare, so I'm not getting my hopes too up. c:

So, assuming you don't like, what she has to offer, can you withdraw and come back later with that same invite or do you forfeit the invite simply by peeking into her shop?

I've never been able to restock here but if I can't find an invite I never will, but I don't want too many people to find that invite or prices will sore down. Is it a rare find?
