Hydrus Irion and Telenine Revamps

The old Irion art is one of my favorite pet colors ever, so I admit that I'm a bit biased.

The new one has a more polished look in general, but I do wish that it had kept the tail with the fin only on the ends, rather than having a large tail fin. It looks a bit crowded to me, maybe because there's not much negative space in between the legs (whereas the old one did have some negative space between the legs and the tail). As a few others have said, I also wish the markings were a bit more noticeable. I know that the blue markings on the front legs had to be taken off due to the Irion's redesign, but the markings on the shoulder, face, and neck frill look a bit smaller and less colorful compared to the old version.

I personally like the old irion better -- it was more decorative and the colors were more vibrant. The orbs seemed crisper in the older version and the image also seemed more balanced (color-wise) than this one. However, the anatomy and overall artwork is MUCH improved.

Great job with the telenine too, no complaints from me there!

Wow, what the heck are people saying about the Irion losing attitude and looking lack-luster?? It's gorgeous now! If anything, it has more attitude. Before it was just smiling like a doofus with a blank stare. I looks much more fierce now rather than happy. The horns and front legs are so wicked now.

Ohhhh man....Sharkdog is GORGEOUS now. And the new Telenine fits him perfectly! Digging the Irion too. I liked the old one, but I could never really tell what was going on with it. It was way too busy, and I love how it's front legs just POP. Both of them are far more realistic now and I'm a fan~

To be honest, the markings on the old irion looked flat and fake. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the old irion. I had one and then got rid of it because I thought that when it was revamped, I wouldn't like it anymore. This revamp makes me wish I had kept it!

I agree with those who prefer the old Irion. The art on the old Irion had a lot more effort put into it, and the Hydrus markings on the new one look a lot less complex, and to be blunt, poorly done in comparison I also dislike the tail change from a longer tail to a "fin only" tail. Therefore I will be using the old pose as an overlay should I ever get another Hydrus Irion.

The telenine lost its agression! That sucks. Needs more snarl or more of a nasty look in the eyes like my lovely Celinox does :)

I'm digging that Irion. I love the face and the features. I kind of wish it had a little more blue details, but I'm very happy with it :) The telenine is lovely, too.

I don't usually say this, but I have to admit that I like the old Irion much better. It was more decorative and had nicer colors, and now I'm.....kinda "meh" about my Irion now. I also liked that it had a really cute pose before, but I understand that Hydrus pets aren't really supposed to be cute XD;;

Kind of glad that I got rid of my Hydrus Irion now, the new one simply looks too brown and dull compared to its older version. And what exactly happened to the head there? All the decorations seems to be gone in the new form. :c

The reason I got the Hydrus Irion for Metem was because it appeared the most wingless to her character. I love that you kept it in the revamp. <3

The Telenine is great but I love the old Irion a lot more because it's one of my all-time favorties here D: And I had the first one on server back then C:

The old Irion had prettier patterns, because of the higher contrast. It still looks a little flat to me. The Telenine looks incredible, although I wish the spines were longer.

the irion looks fierce (good), the telenine looks more tame (dont like this). i wish the blue markings kept the size, now they look too brown (not good. the overall art is much better, yay?

I think there are a lot more other pets that needed to be revamped. :/ Including making new colors for the Bhakoru.

I find myself liking the old poses better.

I liked the more ferocious, Daemon-ic Telenine better and think the new version would look better if the leg fins were exaggerated a bit or flared out a bit to make up for the more forward pose. For this one, the down-tone of the electric bioluminescence works.

I like the less-fiddly bit of the Irion, it makes it easier to see just what is going on in general and specifically when the image is smaller. I don't care for the dulling of the bioluminescence of this pet though.

I am really bumming about these two pets. The subtle, tiny changes just made me decide not to get them. I miss the ferocity of the Telenine, and the details of the Irion's markings, particularly along it's fins.

I think the new Telenine looks GREAT! Kind of makes me want one! xD Not sure why... but I always really adored the old Hydrus Irion... I don't know what exactly it was, but it was just... different from all the others and... I don't know. It's update looks really good, but I'm sad it was replaced.

the irion is lovely too! I've always liked its design and I really like the way the.. spine thingies (I do not know what you call them??) were handled, it looks really really nice aah and I love the glowy bits, really well-done!!!!

great update. cleaned it up, streamlined the style with the rest of what's out there, without changing those great poses. the poases are one of the reasons i love hydrus pets so much, so great job!

Hard to say if I like the new Irion better than the old version or not. I think I slightly prefer the old version, but the art is still gorgeous. Ah well...I guess Mariks_Dream got himself a makeover. xD

I preferred the old Irion but they both look quite good. I wish they were more the colour of the older Hydrus pets...less of a bright yellow-y orange.
