hey everyone, some updates on this feature:

Bug Fix:

• Rescue Helper achievement now works

Anti-Snipe Changes:

• Exact satisfaction percentage replaced with 4 vague stages: Calm, Stirring, Wobbling, Almost Free!
• Feed count removed from bubble grid
• "Last fed by" removed from detail panel
• Feed history filtered to only show YOUR feeds (can't spy on others' cooldowns)
• Top contributor still shown (motivates consistent feeding)

Weighted Rescue Lottery:

• Minimum 3 feeds required before your feed can trigger a pop
• When a bubble pops, ALL feeders enter a weighted lottery (more feeds = better odds)
• Winner gets the minion + full sP reward
• Triggering feeder (if different) gets half sP + "bubbles helped" credit
• Top contributor (if different) also gets half sP + credit

and just a process note: i really appreciate the level of feedback and thoughtfulness on this thread! please remember that i'm working across the whole site, and when i push out a feature like this i try to give it a few days to understand the usage, how many people come back, how many people are using it, and use that data in addition to feedback in threads like this to shape changes. we also get tickets, i reach out to people for individual feedback, and i monitor the discord - i am not ignoring you when you tell me that something is frustrating, but i typically need some time before i make large swings, otherwise all of the data is completely useless.

You popped 3 since I pushed those changes? They weren't retroactive.

okay, a few more updates (thanks , you were right!)

Shiny Achievement Fix:

• New column tracking the count instead of relying on the cron (which wasn't working because popped minions get cleared)

Anti-Automation:

• 5-second global cooldown between ANY feeds (was only per-minion before)
• Rate limit: 30 feeds in 5 minutes triggers a 30-second forced cooldown

Two-Column Layout:

• Grid on left, detail/food panel sticky on right when a minion is selected
• Selected minion highlighted in the grid
• Collapses to stacked on screens < 860px

I don't think the numbers reflect that, you've popped the 'd most bubbles. I'm open to feedback or specific changes you'd like to see, but I'm not sure how to help at this point! I really want to help - but I'm just not sure what changes I could make at this point. It might take you more than a few days to get some of these achievements!

I guess I'm confused now - there isn't really "sniping" with the lottery system, anyone who has fed the minion 3+ times is in the running for getting it (which means users who just feed it last actually have no chance to get it, if it's the only time they've fed that minion).

if you're looking for the achievements and not the minion prize, everyone is on a level playing field for getting that last feed, and it's meant to be an achievement?

I am really trying to dial this in so that it's fair, but it's still a social experience where you are competing with other users.

I understand what you're saying, but you have the same ability to be the last feeder as all of those people who are doing it. You aren't required, or encouraged, to feed the minion from start to finish or it would be a solo experience. "Doing all of the work" isn't in the achievement - it's getting the last feed.

And if that is stressful for you, you can wait a little bit until the fervor dies down and probably feed minion from start to finish with no one else even being on the page, that just isn't the experience right now, and I don't think there is much that I can do (other than just remove this achievement) to improve that experience.
