Glad for an explanation and the new pet page looks great. The fact that Subeta still exists in the current world is nothing short of a miracle, especially considering how small the team is. I'm happy to keep paying for a subscription because this site has brought me a lot of joy over the years. I've made friends that are very important to me and we've been through a lot together over the years. Despite everything going on in the world and online, Subeta's still here. That's awesome.

I do get frustrated with the bugs sometimes, especially when I've been working all day and want to come home and chill and play. Kumos still loads much slower than legacy and tbh I'm pretty attached to the "old" Subeta so I mostly use legacy when able. Looking forward to things being more stable in the future. I hope Subeta is still around for a long time yet!

What you do for Subeta is really impressive, and I'm ever thankful that you continue to push forward on it. I'm personally excited about the Kumos rewrite! God, that's the scary thing, isn't it? You can't think about how long you're doing anything or you get an existential crisis. That is good to know, though. Maybe I will stop avoiding it like the plague.

Honestly incredible work on all of this.

It was a rough 2 weeks, but this is so little in the grand scheme of things. We struggled for 2 weeks, but it means we can stay onlegacy longer, fix issues that have been going on for years, and take more tike to properly set up Kumos so that the transition is smoother. It means that you get to polish Kumos before we have to urgently move there. This is such a win in my book.

Also it only took you a few days to get throygh all of this. i don't think people realize how much of a fwat this is for a single developper. Whole teams can spendweeks fixing a single bug, you managed tonpatch years of issues stacked in layers upon layers of old code in a couple of days.

All of this was well worth the downtime for real.

Money is thight with all that's going on, and the CAD to USD conversion is abysmal, but I just subscribed cause I legitimately want to support the site (and I can dri k one least Starbucks drink a month to support a site I've spend thousands of hours on in the past 20 years)

Sounds like a LOT of hard work and I appreciate the site back to working again. So far I don't like any of the new kumos changes though. The shop quick stock isn't any better, it just looks different. It's a little frustrating that some of the changes don't seem to have good instructions. I still can't figure out how to autoprice my shop and some of the prices that come up when I load prices are incorrect. I hope none of this messes with masquerade, 1 of my favorite holidays. And I can't use the kumos site without my bookmarks. I hope those are added soon.

Thank you for the explanation, I appreciate how hard you all work on this site. Subeta has always been a nice place for me to come roost for years, so I will always support whatever decision required going forward, even if it can be a little rough at times.

I just tried the autopricer again but it's not working right. There were about 15 items that didn't price at all and are left unpriced in my shop. I will hand price them myself and hope this gets fixed. Thank you.

Thanks for the update and always explaining whats going on. I don't know about codes besides making a primitive html table hah, but I can kinda grasp the kind of work it has been all this. I mean it, like, any site would go the "we are updating the site" and roll with it, no matter what the userbase thinks avout it, while here, (I know the moving to kumos will happen eventually) you get the old site and update in that php thingy that will extend its life/funtionality. Who does that?

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but there is no season set for the millionaire center, so everything is at the 125% price right now. I went to buy a Pastry Box and noticed it.

I think I've said it before that updates-in-place are the hardest logistical development challenge, so I appreciate you doing this (both legacy and kumos) even if it is such a pain in the ass LMAO

To get a little sentimental, this site is actually why I picked up PHP and SQL - "if keith could make a website with this I bet I can" - and as a result have had a decade-long fruitful QA developer career. I actually still code in PHP for fun in my spare time, though I haven't worked in it professionally since my development career started 👍 It is a miracle that this place is still running after all this time and I'm happy to see it still going. Thanks for everything you do!

(additionally, quick aside, some interesting behavior is that I can't use vertical autoscroll on forum pages anymore - it just defaults to horizontal. (pokes front-end) now how did that happen? 😆 seems to work fine on, say, the Rift screen.)

(and also, if you have a topic for Random Legacy Stuff That Now Looks Funny, I have some stuff to post in there too 😆 but that is the nature of updates like this.)

Now that this change has taken place, Legacy is running as slow and clunky as Kumos. Kumos ran that way for the entire year + that I've used it. Is this the reality of PHP 8.4 or your particular use of it? It's a deal breaker for me and my continued subscription. I was happy to continue to monetarily support staff while Kumos was in development, as long as Legacy was still running seamlessly. When I click, I expect it to load immediately. These are the results I expect with every other website and much more complicated systems (videos, video games..etc.) When can we expect seamless browsing like we had with Legacy up until this change and browsing like we've never seen before on Kumos?

If there are aspects of the site that are broken or need to be changed/updated, I'm okay with that as long as the page or request loads immediately. I do not want a laggy experience, which is all we've seen on Kumos over the past year. Please let us know what to expect with regard to this issue.

Before someone makes the predictable comment to appreciate the work behind the scenes and to be patient, I do appreciate the work behind the scenes and I have been patient while waiting for Kumos to meet my performance expectations over the past year. Now that the performance issues have bled over to Legacy, it's a very serious concern of mine.

Edit: It took 15 seconds to load my profile. It took 1m50s to load Dashboard. These are some of the more egregious examples. To be honest though, even 2 seconds is too long when you're browsing.
