Ah yes, Cobalt Eternal scrolls, those are great. At least, until impossibly opponents, their variability in def kinda makes them less useful when opponents can throw 100+ of a single icon at you and the cobalt sometimes only blocks 10.

ohhh! that's good to know, makes sense. i assume most of the def would come from the weapons at that point? with just an infinite use scroll

It's a great scroll for bigger pets! Much more efficient than using 3-4 Gift of the Forj Scrolls to get the same amount of healing. Give it a try and see if you like it :P
