I guess Mauve finally has enough mankinis! Good job adjusting those (though he did ask for two different items twice in a row so I caution about inflating the next thing).
Blueberry Fruit Chews and Blueberry Gummy Lungs for Pete, Magma Rod and Fireball for Malaria still won't search properly. Shows up, but you click and it just takes you to the shop, not the item like everything else.
Saggi had some profit, not sure if that's been tweeked, but some is better than none
Got that same error on Rumi and it did take the items from inventory
Error completing quest: SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'subeta.user_shops' doesn't exist (Connection: mysql, SQL: select min(user_shop_prices.price) as aggregate from user_shop_prices inner join user_shops on user_shop_prices.shopid = user_shops.shopid where itemid = 142748 and user_shops.closed = 0)
On a lark I canceled the quest (though it still eats your items) and did another one, but bought the items on legecy search instead of here. It seemed to work, but no idea if it is even related.
course, now Rumi is stuck on 1 more quest- also, her page says I got 38 reputation and is not showing an increase but the main quest page shows an increase. Did a 6th to test it out, and the quest went through (though I actually lost SP on that one, serves me right).
No problems with Wiz, Pete or Maybel today.
Side note, not sure anyone else has this issue, but the drop downs for the top bar (Social, commerce, wardobe, etc) are very intrusive on the quest page. Like I go to click start new quest, which is located at the top of the page, and it brings up the hover for commerce and I keep clicking shop search XD Only seems to happen on the quest pages
I wanted to leave some feedback about the quest shop change.
I'd hope the items from the shop stay rare. Like they are only given out when the quests are Weekend quests (assuming that's still happening), and chances are skewed based on item rarity.
Runway Ready was much improved, not asking for impossible items!! :)
I completed all the quests and only had one little problem--one Rumi quest had a glitch in which I had all the requested items but I kept being asked to buy an item that was in my inventory, so I just quit that one quest. All the rest were good!! Thanks
Mauve quests: 1 profitable, 2 break even, 2 highly underpaying. Saggi still a bad joke. Wiz after 3 10k days again better payout - 30k Pete a tad better - 29k Maybel after a couple of lousy days better payout again - 7ßk
I'm glad, other people addressed the fact, that Wiz Quest Shop prices are horrendous for something that was basically free all along - and NPC's items generally cost a fraction of seasonal ones! Go figure, how high those would be in comparison!
I got that same error, also for Rumi. I tried turning in the same quest again by buying a new set of the items on Legacy, but that didn't work, and I ended up quitting too.
On another note, Saggitarius lulled me into a false sense of security over the past few weeks and had me buy an item worth over 2mil, to which he repaid me with a measly 200k. That completely wiped out any SP progress I had made.
Hey everyone! Sorry for the errors, I pushed out major changes earlier that worked on my dev... and didn't on the site. I appreciate the pings, everything should be working now.
Item Pools There are now significantly more checks, and more work done, to ensure that the items requested are within the parameters of the quest. For example, the runway quests have a limit of 50,000sP per item.... but it was running on a cache that was choosing items that were getting bought up faster than it could keep up with. Now, it makes multiple checks and creates a much larger pool, for each quest giver and if it can't satisfy a request, it'll change to a 'lower tier' of requests (which is mostly any item r1-50 under 25,000sP for now, I'm hoping to expand on this)
Rewards This means that the rewards are going to look a little different now. The sP prize takes into account if the item is in any main shop, the price in user shops and more importantly it will reach into the history of purchases and try to create a fair price. That means just because you spend 1,000,000sP on an item, if it's usually 45,000sP, it'll meet you somewhere in the middle.
Running our test suite on a few of the quests, it still seems like there is profit from all of them: Wizard: Average Net Value: 117,921 sP Maleria: Average Net Value: 52,198 sP Sagg: Average Net Value: 54,940 sP
💖 ✨ 🤗
Note, Rumi a little less so:
Average Net Value: 8,387 sP
I want to figure out how to make her prizes... better, without it just being sP. :(
💖 ✨ 🤗
saggi being dethroned as the richest, wonder if theres a lore reason for this...mauve vs saggi?

@ Danny_Sadler
I appreciate the advice, although the point of my post was moreso to point out that - at present - the Kumos quests are much slower to do the "intended" way than they are to do the same way that I've been doing them on the main site, with the whole opening tabs thing.
As I understand it, one of the intended changes of the Kumos site quests is to improve speed and fluidity to make doing quests quicker, easier, and in less overall clicks. There's been some success there in a few of the iterations, but the current version is very bogged down by bugs and UI bloat so doing quests the intended way is still slower and more frustrating than doing them the old way. That was really the point of my post.
Haven't tried the latest update yet, will update this post if I notice any improvements. Although the reward pricing changes have me scratching my head a bit, ngl.
UPDATE: Can confirm that the intended method is still slower than the tabs method. Also Saggitarius is still bugged for me and locked on infinite quests.

This issue with the item popups appearing behind the edge of the frames is really driving me nuts and I'd appreciate any acknowledgment that it will be worked on. Please... See how the menu gets cut off because of this so I can't access the (legacy) shop search link? (I'm always going to try legacy first since those NPC shops are more often in stock and the discount buff works there.) That means I have to find some other link to open the item on another page that hopefully I can get to the popup shop search link from. And that takes extra time and disrupts the flow of the quest. At the very least, maybe the shop search link could be the first item on the menu so it's less likely to get cut off? Sometimes it gets pushed down the menu by extra options if it's a wearable. Another example of the problem
I'm still getting ripped off on the runway. :( Please see this image with the values of what I turned in compared to the reward Most of Mauve's quests were ok tonight. Nothing to shout about but I think I only really lost money on that one. But why was this payout so absurdly low?
I still got asked for a lot of duplicates. Many of them were those items I could only buy one copy of from the NPC shop so then I had to pay full price from a usershop. If it's out of stock, whatever, but it's right there... and I can't get it... but the quests keep asking for it... feels bad.
All of the quests were only ok tonight. I made slightly over 1 million sP total from doing all the quests. Plus of course the tokens and a pile of junk items. I can accept if you're keeping the payouts low for now because we're getting to do these in addition to the regular quests, but hopefully this isn't what it's going to look like when legacy quests are removed. I simply wouldn't bother with quests like Pete's... gathering up four items is too much labor for such a paltry reward. I might not bother with any of these except the Wizard. And I'm one of those people who ALWAYS does ALL the quests every single day.
At least the stakes were low tonight so I didn't have to worry about losing millions, I didn't have to cancel any quests and I didn't run into any errors. That is an improvement!
Runway Ready quest asked me for Pink Shirtless Suit Jacket . Where to find told me it was available in the NPC shop for 4099sP but when I clicked on the link I got a 404 error. I had to buy it from a user shop.
I had the same, that item is not existent in the NPC shop on Kumos.
She could stick a sticker you already own but that is not stuck (sticked?) yet to your album. She could hand out a "secret code" (buff? object, like a card?) that helps you with something else: one of the games; or quests, like an additional quest, or skip a quest without losing the try, so you can repeat it. This could work for other quest givers too: Maybel could hand out something that allows your pet to eat 11 food items or more one time. During events, they could hand out event currency, like candy hearts or trinkets. Saggi could hand out a way to exchange currencies (currency vault only, not the objects), in order to have a chance to obtain some of that hard to get currencies (of course at a mad rate, like 10K carnival tickets for one loyalty point or so).
I know things are in the works!
One thing that sticks in my mind is that revamping quests was in large part to eliminate the "tedium" of doing so many each day (because users weren't doing them). The mechanics of questing have now improved (to be fair, slightly - the mechanics at least for me were great as is and kumos tends to take me a little longer), so it's really # of quests I think that were being targeted? Quests are the main source of income and to attain the goal, we need higher "profit" per quest. ATM on legacy I make about 3m min - 5m per day with GA # of quests, weekend quests are 4m min - 5m. Yet the quests on Kumos are often currently turning out equal or smaller profits than the legacy quests. Maybe goals have changed, or I've missed them, but I'm concerned that I'm going to spend as much time questing (honestly a bit more even it seems) to make less. IDK if others are seeing that too, but my profits have steadily decreased to the point I am now losing funds on some quests. It evens out more when you're doing 15 quests. Doing 5 and losing funds is a much bigger deal.
Just some feedback that hopefully is helpful in reaching goals!
If the site is going to attract and keep new players the payout for fewer quests has to match the payout we get from doing legacy quests otherwise new players won't be able to afford to do anything. This includes buying items from quest shops if quest points are done away with. If we do have to pay sP for quest shop items they should be very cheap so new players can get everything they want.
YES 100% That's exactly what I was saying. Doing more work for less pay isn't going to attract new players or make current players want to start doing quests.
With quest givers asking for items with item caps, this new limit / reward method is going to end up meaning:
I just did a Saggi quest where I spent around 75k and I lost money on it because the item was a 1 purchase from the NPC daily and Saggi had already asked for it in a quest. :(
ATM Kumos quests are more time consuming, less profitable, and more frustrating / discouraging / disappointing that legacy quests have ever felt to me. I know it's a work in progress so I'm not "poo-pooing" the goals or the journey as a whole - just some honest feedback from a 18year member who diligently quests.
If the site is going to attract and keep new players the payout for fewer quests has to match the payout we get from doing legacy quests otherwise new players won&;t be able to afford to do anything. ...
My way of legacy questing: quest window in right half of my screen, everything within sight (with still a ton of empty space underneath!!!).
left item: open in new window (which it automatically does on the left side to the main quest window), in Maleria's case also for the middle item (providing she asks for 3)
Normal shop search on right item in original quest window. (all these clicks within a mili second!!!)
Now I can see at a glance, how much all the items will cost, fast rarity check on hover (if a little higher user shop price o.k. for rares and super rares, if too much and fast hover account search shows I own plenty, will take from stash). If in NPC shops and not enough on account, I'll buy some more. Rarity check for expensive Saggi items is also crucial, because mostly they will only pay off when in the high 90s.
Back tab on original right side quest window and finish quest. The open left side windows I'll close whenever there's waiting time because of 2 NPC shop purchases.
Unless I get side tracked or want to buy too much from NPC shops (or have to do a dozen seasonal stuff extra clicks) that's really super fast.
For Kumos (which doesn't work on mine) I need to use a different browser, which doesn't do the automatic window opening on left side. Thus I either have to gamble on purchases and their overall cost in respect to probable payout or tediously shift open windows to see them side by side for calculation. There's no hover anymore. I have to scroll a ton to get to the bottom items and buttons, to then see the item info. Tedious Kumos NPC shop purchases, which don't acknowledge, if I've actually been successful in buying the (and which, rofl) item.
By the time I've finally managed to complete a single quest (probably with marginal payout - and I don't even bother to look at the given items, because: no hover!), I would have done at least 5 legacy ones - without frustration and having to pay full attention to it.
It's so easy on legacy for sure :') I use my keyboard shortcut to go back, so my process is:
It takes me less than 10 seconds per quest. Even if I use my alternative method of right clicking and opening a tab for the quest item in shop search it's still just as fast and easier than kumos. For me it's the "ease" atm that's causing issue, plus the profit. I need quests to be a "mindless" activity I can do while watching TV or something. If I have to focus on them because the profit margins are narrow and doing them becomes tricky I won't be able to do them daily.
On Kumos I can technically use this method, but the site itself seems to be slower and it throws errors at me sometimes when I move too quickly. Plus now we have to check every item price, check the NPC shop to see if we can even buy it, etc. It's burdensome.
Field study: 2 minutes 30 seconds for all 15 Mori quests!!!!
Just did all of the kumos quests (right after I did all of my main site ones, minus Sarah since I don't want to do the sP shuffle so I never do those) and I made a little less than 5 mil from my main site quests and from the kumos site quests I made 1.1 mil. Making the kumos quests appallingly low payout in comparison. If you want us to be making the same amount of money from much fewer amount of quests you need to really amp up the sP payout from these quests. And I want to point out that I'm not talking about payout per quest to be the same on kumos as on the main site. I'm talking about the fact that for the "new" system to feel worthwhile for a lot of people (me included) the payout per day needing to be more aligned between the two systems. Obviously based on how many quests you actually complete. But if you complete every single quest available, as I did today, then you should be getting 4-5 mil in payout of pure sP (since the items we are given are usually not worth much of anything, especially not in the long run). Otherwise it will always be a worse system that isn't worth the time at all.
People who don't do quests for one reason or another are unlikely to do the Kumos quests either. Some people might prefer to spend real money on a subscription which gives CSC so they can then sell CSC gift cards for sP. Other players who have been here for years mightn't do quests because they are very rich and have everything they want - they might do quests for a pet slot if there is another Questathon, though. I'm pretty certain that there are also some players who only come on the site for holiday events because there are always more players online for these.
I'm rich but I still do quests and restock from legacy NPC shops to pass the time. If I didn't I would be here for about 20 minutes for the Bathtouse Pool, battle quests, collecting pet income and Shinwa quests in hope of getting a stat booster.
