is 100% right (like always) that we had a few phases, where it was proposed as just a normal shop with items that released - and then we kind of got more and more ambitious from there, and what it turned into was cool but ... not achievable on our current system.
So, it's the kind of thing where we've got (most) art assets, an idea, and it just wasn't something that oculd get over the finish line in terms of coding what we envisioned.
The good news is (and I hope you're feeling my ✨ excitement ✨ from other threads!) that i'm building out the new kumos.subeta.net with this kind of functionality in mind.
An example is the system that I'm prototyping after I finish the sidebar and widgets, the "exploration" (name pending lol) system. Taking features like the krypts and ice fields, and making it more narrative focused and something that the creative team could push out during a plot or event without needing 1,000 lines of code written.
